I've been playing it recently. I'm not really sure about the overworld. Like it's cool at first but after playing the original it just feels like a bit of a chore to get to the next level. Maybe if I hadn't played the PS1 and DS versions to death as a kid I would've enjoyed it more.

Jet ski areas take time cause you just circle around a bunch for them if you miss.
If you miss on the tiger level you literally have to suicide and redo an entire section.

-If we have to have gimmick levels, don't go overboard with them like 3 did. Around the amount 2 had is alright at most. That and the ones in Crash 2 also played all better as well.
-Return of getting new abilities after beating up bosses.
-A way to handle backtracking in levels (maybe a flip the camera option?)

Otherwise I want it to pretty much play like more of the original trilogy, but with new stuff.

To be a good game, it cant have even a single bit of gameplay in common with old crash games. A damn 2D platformer but on the wrong axis for this shit. Youd need to make a proper 3D platformer but then just use a franchise already focused on that by that point.

just because whoever owns the rights to the franchise found out through marketing research that a new crash game would likely result in a profit, does not mean that the game will in any way or form be good. the only factor that matters is out of the equation. just because a product has the same letter combination as that product you enjoyed as a child doesnt mean that it will recapture that feeling you felt way back when.

The style of old crash and not nucrash. The characters should look like they do in ps1 and act like they do in ps1. I dont want twinsanity cringe

but most people are cattle that love brand names and not the actual content

Make it like Crash 2/3, but with less shitty gimmick stages (motorcycle, airplane etc..). More difficult routes for gems. More difficult, and fun, bosses, since most Crash bosses are just either too easy or really tedious (N. Gin).

The new level in the N Sane Trilogy, I forget what it's called, was a pretty good example of a fun difficult stage. Do more of that.

I remember Yas Forums having a thread about how to make it so that Crunch isn't just a jobbing side character and instead an actual playable character. The problem with Crunch that that his design is too different that Crash and Coco's scale-wise, so he would only fit for the occasional mount or vehicle section like in Warped or WoC. His body type doesn't work well for platforming.

I used to think this but then I replayed R&C3. The Qwark in the Vid Comic levels have pretty much the same proportions as Crunch, so strictly 2D platforming levels could still work.

Not anything like that. Don’t focus on combat nearly as much, still have it be mostly platforming.

After the soulless ntrilogy and CTR I don’t want to see anymore crash.

Would be nice, make it feel like a classic ps1 era game. Also I want a re-release of Titans and Mind Over Mutant. Just bump up the resolution and textures and it would sell. I think people took Titans too harshly and would be better well received today.
Titans is personally my favorite right next to Crash 2. The combat and platforming is tight and enjoyable. Humor is eh, but nothing too bad.
