I can beat Genichiro in my sleep but I can't get past phase 1 of this guy.
What's the fucking point of having a healthbar if everything is basically a 2 shot?

Thats a real question I made myself a lot of times in ng+
if I cheese him to death with pokes is that getting good?
running in, hitting him once, running/jumping away got me to lower his health to 1/4 before I got bored and went to attack normally but got 2 shot cause his mikiri hitbox is fucking stupid and wouldn't accept t he counter
prior to that I took 0 damage
lmao even DSP beat him on his 2nd try by just mashing like the retard he is
No
Literally run around in a circle and wait to do the counter when he stabs with his spear r1 him twice and repeat for 20 mins
>but he’s too hard
DSP thought he was the easiest boss
m.youtube.com
why
if he dies he dies, its part of the game
That's okay OP. Just admire how the game achieved peak kino with its media transcending camera work.
It doesn't count unless it looks cool.
That's not cheese. Cheese would be making him glitch off the map or something
just like one of my animes... oh, wait.
jokes aside his phase 1 > every boss combined
no? he literally dies to genichiro (part of the fight) 3 times and isshin twice
wrong
Stay on his ass, hesitation is defeat. Parry his moves and watch out for the perilous attacks that you can mikiri counter or jump on him during.
HESITATION
IS
God, this fight is so fucking good, how did they achieve such a pure concentrate of kino in one boss?
Thanks for the kino poster.
You're welcome, the game is fantastic.
I swear to god i don't remember the last time i had that much fun playing a video game
He's an old man. You're faster than him. Use your dodge and circling abilities to get behind him and punish his swings.
>phase 1
just so you know, phase 1 is considered to be a relatively easy warmup
phase 2 is the real fight
They took the best final boss from their best game (Bloodborne) and pumped it full of steriods.
>old man mentor figure
>turns out to be super badass
>field full of white flowers
>on the edge of a cliff
>wild fire-y weather
>What's the fucking point of having a healthbar if everything is basically a 2 shot?
in NG+ blocking no longer prevents all damage, only a portion
this is where your healthbar comes into play
and it is a noticeable difference
Depends moves your dying to. I struggled with all his charged wind moves then beat him once I started using the umbrella.
I finally beat him yesterday. Just keep practicing his timing and stay on his ass. When he starts flailing wildly during phases 2-3, take a step back and wait for his stab to mikiri him. On his third phase use his lighting against him, it really fucks him up. I guess firecrackers kinda work but it is a long fight, I'd save the emblems for the umbrella when he does his charged whirlwind attacks.
If you shorten the distance he becomes much more manageable. And for fuck's sake don't use that advice that says to run in circles, you're never gonna beat him that way.
I'm an absolute fuckup and I managed to beat him (after like 40 tries), I believe in you user.
charged wind moves are easy to dodge either by outranging him or sidestepping it
heck I love it when he does them as it's one of the cleanest openings you get on him
>beat him on my second try the first time around
>charmless + bell takes me 40 tries
didn't realize just how many parries I fucked up until I went charmless
genichiro's mikiri thrust (not the jumping one) is fucking bullshit and he somehow connects every single time no matter how perfectly you dash forward to stomp it
Run in circle around him and wait for him to engage. He will mostly do a three attacks combo, punish on the third strike, repeat. That's phase one
Phase two, when he leaps, move forward (underneath him) and punish with a mortal strike
Third phase, same thing + zap the mothafacka
or you could learn pattern and not just cheese like a retdarded monkey.
Anyone else wish every boss had around 200% more HP once you beat them, because you finally "got" them and wish it lasted longer?
phase 2 and 3 are unironically easier and much more predictable
He takes about a second between the warning symbol and the actual attack. It's just timing and it's one of the best opportunities to give him posture damage. You can also block it or dodge to the side if you're having trouble.
Maybe with the exception of demon of hatred and the ghost monk. I think they have too much HP already. The demon is fucking ridiculous.
anything that doesn't glitch out the shit out of something isn't cheese. Just normal strats
the angle is just retarded because he only ever really does it after jumping, which you need to sidestep to not get posture broken, so it's ridiculously hard to time
Sekiro last boss and the rage spirit thing are so out of place. The whole game teachs you to parry and attack and doesn't reward you at all for dodging until these bosses where you NEED to learn how to dodge.
its really stupid how it's more of a handicap to parry an attack vs run out the way completely against isshin since if you don't perfect deflect he's likely to posture break you
I didn't even bother with DoH after the 3rd try, its fucking boring
playing through for first time. just finished owl (father) and divine realm. got dunked on my demon of hatred. how fucked am i?
Parry his jumping attack, wait a second after the symbol shows and then double tap O or B. The timing is different when he's normal and when he's lightning lad. he takes much more posture damage from parrying when he's shirtless.
Another time when he does it is after his multi combo attack, parry the first two, step back for the flurry, then parry the last one. He'll remain in attack position then try to stab you.
Demon of Hatred is an annoying ass boss with some confusing moves
like how his charge attack is not a grab but rather a sweep and you can only avoid it by jumping, not by dodging
Do you have the ring of malcontent? If so save it for his third phase and don't use it during an attack animation. That fight is a protracted pain in the ass no matter what you do, so just keep trying. The carpet fire attack is avoided by jumping to the side.
just cheese it.
use less memories and ring the bell?
im talking about final genichiro not ashina
parrying his jumping attack auto-breaks my posture unless it's perfect deflect so it's easier to sidestep
running away is for shitters who couldn't learn the game but desperately want to be a person who can beat a from game
exact same people who summoned/used magic in previous games
It's not that hard to do a perfect deflect on his jumping slam, the timing is always the same on that one. Be careful about his pose, though, he sometimes does a circular attack after jumping, which you can double jump on for some serious posture damage.
It's all timing and spamming attack until he deflects with that jerkoff, but you'll get to the point where he's irrelevant.
>pink wojak
go away, Yas Forums
Fight is very telegraphed but his double charge is absolute bullshit.
Charm is just training wheels. Imagine how many people would've gotten filtered if taking damage from blocking was there at the start.
God damnit, why doesn't this game let you repeat boss fights? I want another go at that fucker but I don't want to play through it again.
help this nigga out
how the fuck can this faggot scrub beat him but i cant?
Isshin gets fucking destroyed if you learn how to deflect his attacks, his first phase can go really quickly if he decides to attack constantly (or if you force him to). And no, he's the sekiroest boss in all of sekiro. Demon of hatred is a fucking lulzsorandumb piece of shit who will use anything including the terrain to make your life miserable.
He had help from hundreds of people telling him what to do
Xshitter here, beat him 3 times.
>GET CLOSE, he doesn't like you interrupting his Ashina Cross and will Perilous Attack instead
>when he sweeps, HIGH MONK
>when he thrusts, MIKIRI
The rest is just slice slice parry parry etc that you know by now.
You're literally asking for a gamefaqs guide. Just go there.
you should feel proud
I've heard that only 28% of the xbox players even got past genichiro at the top of the castle
Boss Rush mod.

HOW MY BLOOD BOILS
IKUZO
I don't know why this stupid fucking mod makes me enjoy the game more.
Are there nude mods?
Just parry him lol. If you haven't learned to press L1 yet, you're playing the game wrong.
Probably, there's a CJ from San Andreas mod that changes Genichiro to big smoke.
Some of us Xbros are actually old Super Ninjas who beat NGB
Also I'm in the 28% who beat Armstrong in MGR
>thread got archived before I could hit "post"
If this year continues at this rate, Sekiro will be GOTY 2020 as well.
Seriously the only games that are remotely comparable ever since it came out are Ace Combat 7 and RE2make. Maybe also Jedi Fallen Order but still Sekiro tramples all of them.
The real question is why were you born such a whiny bitch
Jedi Fallen Order plays like a shitty Sekiro. I played it for 3 or 4 hours and all I wanted to do was play Sekiro. So I dropped it and replayed Sekiro.
The exploration is cool though.
I personally want Ori and the Will of the Wisps to win GOTY
