Twilight Princess: Wrapped around my dick.
Worst 3D non handheld Zelda.
Maybe HD remake made it not tedious AF.
The definitive 3D Zelda experience. Best played on Gamecube.
Let me take back my statement 2nd worst. Forgot about BOTW.
this. although Ocarina and MM are better games, this game is number 3 and is the most cinematic zelda experience to date.
Whats the story
Who cares. There is blood in this game plus it’s so thematically dark. A more mature Zelda experience.
Well whats the story?
link achieves furry powers with the help of an edgy midget while ganondorf rapes zelda yet again
Should I come back and play this game? I played it back in middle school when it released, got the master sword and then did a whole lot of exploring, but never got around to beating the game or any other dungeons for that matter. I remember liking it a bunch, is it worth a playthrough again? Also should I buy the hd remaster, I still have my wii u hooked up, but I also have the game on wii.
Same been playing windwaker HD. Might get twilight princess HD, then skyward sword again.
Corona virus got me bored AF
>muh cinematic experience
That's exactly what makes it such a trash game. It's completely linear, cutscenes take forever, Twilight segments are tedious as fuck, there's barely any NPC interaction or sidequests, they removed magic, new items are underutilized, overworld is disjointed as fuck, characters are completely unlikeable, Link is sideshowed to the point where Ganondorf doesn't even acknowledge him in cutscenes, Zant's potential was completely wasted by shoehorning Ganondorf in, all the callbacks to OoT pale in comparison to that game, etc. etc.
Easily my biggest disappointment in the entire time I've been playing video games. 8.8 is too high for this shitty game.
The HD version isn't much of an improvement. You should have kept playing after getting the master sword since after that is 6 dungeons with minimal downtime and it's downright groovy. But play with hard mode geckocodes though the enemies carry zero tension without them
> Twilight Princess is tedious
> in a world where Wind Waker exists
Way better than Wind Waker and Skyward Sword.
>It's completely linear
As opposed to OoT which allowed you to do everything in any order!
BotW > MM > OoT > WW > SS > TP
REEEE when are they gonna port TP, SS and SM3DW to switch!!
OoT>MM>BOTW>TP>WW>SS
Some fuck is covering Hyrule in permanent twilight, allowing dangerous creatures to essentially move in everywhere given unlimited time and start fucking with people.
Most people are reduced to spirits upon entering twilight, able to interact with the world normally but unable to see or fight the creatures. Link is protected by the triforce and retains a corporeal form with enhanced senses able to detect creatures of twilight.
You have to go confront the man behind it by gathering a few macguffins, with the help of "Tetra, but she's there for the entire game, and also everyone else is proportioned like a regular human now".
It's basic and plays maybe slightly gratuitous lipservice to OoT but it has some of the best conceived dungeons and overall design in the series.
Don’t know if devs intended it, but you could switch around the order of the first three temples as well as the last two. You must’ve been a scrub because I figured that shit out at 9 years old
MM > OoT > TP > BOTW > WW > SS
> you could switch around the order of the first three temples
ok retard, show me how you do Dodongo Caverns without the slingshot.
This is the one and only true order.
I'm kidding, I wouldn't know, I haven't played half the list.
MM>BotW>WW>OoT>TP>IdidntplaySkywardSword
All dungeons are not temples....
temples refers to the sage dungeons you do as an adult. You’re being intentionally dense
lmao. it's a garbage game liked by subhumans
OoT is the least linear dungeon 3D zelda
I don't mind TP being linear though it would be better if it were more open. The only thing that really bugs me is stuff like how you have to show Ashei's sketches of the yeti to the Zora guards before you can go to the prince for his earring. Annoying. Also I tried presenting it to the girl at the fishing hole and there was no dialogue, epic fail Nintendo.
>linearity
>hand-holding
>cringeworthy cutscenes
>not following up on certain story elements
>Little to no innovation and it doesn't even improves the formula from the N64 games
>Link isn't even as mobile as in previous games. Wind Waker Link could crouch and hide
>tear segments were fucking Filler
>No sense of atmosphere.
>Too much expository dialogue
>awful artstyle that has aged like shit
>Wolf ex Machina. Howling teaches you moves from a ghost! Okami did the wolf better
>swimming sucks.
>The game is too fucking easy
>For all the buildup they had to the final boss, it was predictable and boring.
>It didn't fully deliver on its "amazing" status.
>dungeons are basically on rails
>worst looking bokoblins in the series
>Reusing the same areas and bosses.
>Most enemies are beaten in pretty much the same way: Look for an opening, rapidly hit the B button until it recovers from the assault and guards again, rinse, repeat.
>Crappy story, failed to explain anything in a compelling manner, why is Link a dog now.
>The NPCs are soulless and not engaging. You can't even interact with most people in Castle Town
>worst battle music in the series. ruined the midna's lament segment
>barely any sidequest
>basically no interconnected areas except for Lake Hylia
>Death Mountain Area is a fucking line with no branches or secret areas
>Item usage was limited.
>Potions, fairies, upgrades, and the like are useless and offer no variety.
>babby tier puzzles. How do I open this door? By shooting an eye or pressing A. It's like the release date was approaching and the dungeons were still half-empty.
>dull soundtrack
>The overworld and villages are shallow and not dynamic.
>Did I say the NPCs are awful? because they are specially compared to Majora's Mask
>No free-roaming. Gotta wait for the plot to explore other areas!
>Rehashing Ocarina Link to teach stuff. Why not make him his dad while you're at it.
>Rehashed final battle from Ocarina of Time.
TP is the worst 3D Zelda
Absolute Yas Forums asskissing-tier list
Are you telling me you can do the Water Temple without the hookshot?
Wow, impressive user. More than half of that is outright lies.
SO HERE I AM
Just post Midnas big, fat Imp ass already.
it's fucking 1080 avalanche not tony hawk shut the fuck up and post
>IT'S TRICKAAYYY
instead
DOING EVERYTHING I CAN
Don't know what you're talking about. I'd take twilight princess everyday over brap of the wild.
Only thing that bothered me in twilight princess is that Link never got an instrument.
But everything you mentioned was explained and you had a ton of sidequests and hidden areas everywhere.
The gameplay itself was very similar to ocarina of time and majoras mask that is true. But I liked that actually.
Wind Waker is shit for kids in my opinion.
This but unironically.
>Only thing that bothered me in twilight princess is that Link never got an instrument.
good riddance, he has enough gimmicky crap cluttering his inventory.
You don't get the hookshot in a dungeon anyway, how does this matter?
>not inherently bad
>i'll give you that
>meh they're par for the course of a japanese game
>i don't remember any but i'm sure they're there, it's a japanese game
>don't fix what ain't broke
>less options isn't good, another point to you
>yes and no - they can be too long but they're good for familiarizing yourself with the map
>hard disagree
>at points yeah
>disagree again
>you sound like cinemasins you faggot, "another thing also does it better" is not a negative against this game
>swimming will always suck in every video game that isn't about swimming
>it is
>i'll give you this one too, maybe not "boring" but too predictable
>huh?
>flat out false
>i hate them yeah
>every 3D zelda does this
>every 3D zelda does this
>because he has the triforce of courage you mongoloid
>honestly this is a problem with most games in general
>yes it did
>it didn't NEED more but more would've been nice
>this is true
>yes fuck this
>underutilized the cool ones
>mostly true
>every 3D zelda does this
>disagree
>agree
>repeated point
>every 3D zelda does this
>this was kino fuck off
>yeah this wasn't kino fuck off a little less now
Wasn't that always the case? Were the masks in majoras mask not largely gimmicky crap? Not to mention that many of those masks you only use once in the game and never again.
Yeah, but getting it was like half of the "meat" of the forest temple. Also, like the slingshot, how good of a time are you going to have clearing the other two temples without the ability to hit bow switches?
MM>OoT>TP>=WW>=BOTW>>>>>>>SS
don;t reply to pastas, my dude.
You're alright dude.
I've never managed to play through Majoras Mask. I find OoT ages better.
it's really not that hard iirc. but yes you have to get the hookshot first no matter what
It might not be that hard to you but I'm pretty sure at least one puzzle in each temple has a solution you're intended to solve with the bow and that's kind of a bitch to work around.
yes, most flaws in the zelda games apply to all of them
I can't even comprehend how people figured out MM without the internet back in the day. Some galaxy brain shit or just extraordinary levels of NEETing.
I had a strategy guide for both games, only used it when stumped, but definitely used it 20x as much for MM than I did for OOT
There are a lot of games that feel like "how the fuck were you supposed to get this back then?" and the answer is usually either word of mouth, strategy guides, or kids being held to a higher standard.
Strategy guides are written by unofficial third parties - they had to figure that game out too. Hell, they had to do it FIRST.
I like to count the horse whistle as the instrument even though you don't get one to carry with you until late game
if only strategy guide writers went on to replace the modern game journalists we have now, then game journos wouldn't be so shit at their job, maybe
>everything I disagree with is a pasta
I don't agree with that at all. Many of the secrets and sidequests had very clear hints to them. The only way how you could miss them is if you skip most dialogues and ignore all hints.
Chad: Yes
yeah I could never get into wind waker, even as a child. it just seemed like such a drop in quality after playing OoT and MM
Alright nigger, how does Kafei work?
> See this kid running around
> Hey, he comes out of his building if I ring the bell, can I do something with this?
> Try to beat him back into his building, it doesn't work
> Try using damn near every item I can think of. For some reason bombs hurt him, this looks like another lead, but I waste several entire cycles on it.
> Eventually give up and look it up
> lol go to this entirely different area
>first dungeon takes your weapon away
Fucking horrible move, great way to make people drop the game or lose interest.
Once you choke down that slog of a dungeon the game gets fun.
>>Crappy story, failed to explain anything in a compelling manner, why is Link a dog now.
What's infuriating is that it was one of the most hyped games of all time, and every month leading up to its release, new details and developer interviews and screenshots would be published in Nintendo Power. The alpha/beta version of the game made way more fucking sense and looked like a much better game. It feels like they cut most of the original elements in favor of callbacks to Ocarina.
The original plan was that this Link would be the Hero of Beasts, and that interaction with animals would be much more important and prevalent. Early screenshots often showed Link interacting with animals in order to progress. Some elements of that made it into the final game (you can talk to animals in wolf form, but they only deliver flavor text, and Thelma's cat helps you during one segment), but ultimately it was completely butchered from what it was originally supposed to be.
Night time was originally actually dark and you needed a lantern to see, and there was a wide open forest area as well.
>filtered by Kavfeifei
me too, bro, that was one of the most ridiculous sidequests that I remember
Is the bell a red herring 100%? I don't even recall if it wound up used. The entire quest was buttfuck retarded.
honestly I haven't gotten further than the 2nd temple since I was a kid, so I don't remember much and can't answer your question
It was cool getting to see dialogue from Epona at least, just a shame she only has one unique interaction before switching to the only other box of text she gets
You're meant to do some detective work in the case of Kafei and use your very handy timetravel ability.
You were meant to experiment and follow him around.
>that e3 trailer that was like 60% cut areas and enemies
still salty
> animals remain corporeal in twilight as a general rule, explaining why Link becoming a wolf protects him
> we could've had dungeons in wolf form instead of overworld exploration
This makes me sad, even if I like what TP ended up as.
> experiment and follow him around
nigger what does it sound like I was doing
How was I supposed to know there was a "case"? Anju?

Thoughts on this mod for MM3D? Seems like the best way to play MM.
Can we at least agree that every post-MM console Zelda is fucking tedious in one way or another?
That's the case with most NPCs in this game. They're incredibly under-developed compared to the N64 games, especially Majora's Mask. One of the things that made OoT and MM so memorable was how NPCs reacted to events, but in TP the NPCs are static as fuck and you can't even interact with the vast majority of Castle Town.
In one way or another, yeah. I just think that TP's tedious elements are way less egregious, one or two exceptions aside. Being first introduced to an area's layout in wolf form is a lot better than visiting basically no new areas and doing absolutely nothing new at all other than paying fuckloads of Rupees to decipher Triforce charts was a sin.
Honestly yeah
Thankfully some of them aren't that way, but of course they're the exception, not the rule. I think the most dynamic thing many of the NPCs do is fully acknowledge Link in his wolf form by cowering
Going from Wind Waker's seamless overworld to TP's sectioned off overworld filled with loading screens and bottomless canyons was like fucking night and day. And the same fucking enemies spawn in the same fucking places in each section. Horseback combat only occurs in one fucking area of the overworld, and it's always with the same 2 or 3 enemies. It's fucking retarded.
>WW didnt have the same enemies repeated every 10 seconds
>WW's wide open empty nothingness with pointless islands was so much better
peak retard
What do you mean "post-MM"? MM has the most tedious gimmick of them all.
And honestly what do you mean "console Zelda" the handheld ones got tedium in them as well. Phantom Hourglass has the boat, Spirit Tracks has the train, and Minish Cap has the medallions. (haven't played ALBW)
The difference between Wind Waker and Twilight Princess is that Twilight Princess let you warp from anywhere to any unlocked portal and Wind Waker made you travel to the nearest tornado to warp away if I remember right. And besides, one or two loading screens is nothing compared to a "seamless" two or three minutes sailing.
