Will this video game series ever come back?
>Will this video game series ever come back?
Probably not.
The west killed it courtesy of Konami, Bloodstained was a reminder of what we lost.
At the very least, we'll probably get a new Bloodstained. Fuck haters, shit was cash. Specially Curse of the Moon.
With the current state of the industry, I hope not.
Yes, as yet another pachinko machine
I really hope they at least do more in the style of Curse of the Moon
>Will this video game series ever come back?
Why would it? The tale of Dracula is over.
Not exactly Castlevania, but has anyone played Odallus? Currently playing it and it's quite fun.
Symphony of the night killed it. Metroid fanbase cannibalised castlevania and Konami milked them dry. People who just want to whip goofy skeletons and kill Dracula got screwed over.
The ironic thing is that according to developer interviews, Symphony of the Night was trying to rip off Zelda, not Metroid.
How is that even possible it's a complete Metroid rip-off?! A great one tho, but still.
Hey,I want to go get into this series, were should I start and games should I avoid?
avoid all the ones I don't like, don't use your head, I know what's best for you
Haha alucard is gay and took it up the ass!
Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night. If you're a buyfag you can get them both digital for like 20 bucks I think. They're generally considered among the best in terms of presentation and are also on the easier side.
If you want more after that play 1, 3, IV, X68000/Chronicles, and Bloodlines. I never got into the GB/GBA/DS titles so I cant help you there.
If it does, it probably won't be in a way that the fans would like.
I mean that actually kind of makes sense. When you add in elements of Zelda into Castlevania, it does become a lot like a Metroid game, but with RPG elements and without (much) shooting. Castlevania has always been a sidescroller and platformer, so it didn't take those things from Metroid.
Warren ellis is a hack.
Whose bright ideas was it to higher an unironic fedora tipping atheist to write for a franchise that has religion at its core anyway?
*ideas was it to higher
idea was it to hire
Man I butchered that one, didn't I.
I miss when Konami made videogames
Play Oniken also, it's kinda like Contra.
Man, I wish we got Castlevania "4" or Contra "3" in the style of the NES games but with modern length, options, and other stuff. Kinda like what Sonic Mania did. The Evening Star engine is specifically created for believable retro-styled games so it no doubt could be utilized to make a new CV or Contra.
Super Castlevania 4 i'd say, it's one of the easier onces
Ellis a shit but I wouldn't really say religion is at the core of Castlevania. Holy power sure, but religion itself is usually only given a passing mention at best.
Are any of the 3D games worth playing?
Nope.
I liked curse of darkness, and lament of innocence looks like the same thing
Will you get buttfucked?
Fuck those two fandoms user (LoS hater), Noisekeeper and save space bitch, Chernabogue
>Will this video game series ever come back?
Maybe, but discussion will never come back because the series triggered people.
will he ever come back?
Shit characters hold pic of a Belmont kin.
A few months ago I inherited my father-in-law's NES and I've very slowly been trying to beat Castlevania. I'm shit at it, but it's fun to get a little better each time I go back.
What are the must play titles and the shit titles for when I'm eventually done?
Castlevania 4 and 3, fuck 2
doubt it
>What are the must play titles
Castlevania 1 and Symphony. The rest are simply iterations of these two.
3, fuck 2
4 is SNES
simon's quest is okay if you
1. get the redacted version
2. infinite lives to not grind hearts
3. ignore the complete lack of bosses
>
I don't understand.
>name a good castlevania
youtube.com
Can start wherever you want really. The only ones to avoid are Haunted Castle and The MSX versions of the games. All of the NES/SNES, GBA and DS games are solid
Probably not. Let's just keep celebrating what we have.
Fuck the Netflix show though.
Thanks for the suggestions.
I was undecided about 2
Maybe I'll revisit it after I play some more games in the series
I'm more a fan of Re-Translated, myself.
The PS2 ones are pretty good and get a lot on unnecessary flak, the N64 ones aren't that great. Lords of Shadow is kinda meh.
I thought the first two seasons were ok
It less posting over there.
The first season was good, the 2nd season was mostly filler, the 3rd season was absolute trash and has gone way off the rails.
He’s a cope.
Is there a bigger autist in the Belmont family than Juste?
>looks like a fujo's rendition of Santa Claus
>completely unable to read social cues and can't figure out that Maxim is being mind controlled until Death himself has to come and explain it in detail
>Doesn't use martial arts or cool item crashes, instead uses magic
>gay glowy eye cancer aura that he probably thought was really """aesthetic"""
>gets easily sidetracked from his journey and spends countless hours checking every nook and cranny of Dracula's castle for misplaced furniture so he can set up his own comfy man cave in an abandoned room
>ultimately destroys the castle, his man cave, and all that expensive antique furniture anyway
>doesn't even kiss the girl in the end, instead does damage control so she doesn't find out everything was Maxim's fault, basically sets himself up to be cucked
Juste is my favorite Belmont
ESL?
>Nostalgiafag
Who is best Belmont and why is it Simon?
>Konami
>Video game
LOL
During a castlevania music spree, I chanced upon this oddity. Maybe you all know it already but its new to me.
youtube.com
What?
Nigga half of the book combos are item crashes
>2nd season was mostly filler
Yeah all the stuff with Dracula's generals was dumb and they dat around the Belmont hold too long BUT the Belmont hold collection and fight was cool and the Bloody tears part was topkino.
Me too. Give me 16 bit sprites next time too please.
>Best Belmont
Not post his best PSX design
IMO best way I enjoyed 2 was to watch a speedrun of it first and then copy that route. I can't picture trying to wander through that game and complete it on your own and it not being a frustrating nightmare.
English Second Language?
>It less posting over there
I don't understand what you're trying to say.
When the show is actually Castlevania it's really good. Too bad there is very fucking little of it.
What I think is funny is that his design makes him look absolutely gloomy and basically an alucard expy when he's actually kind of a cheerful dude that was just chillin' being goofy pals with his childhood friends when they accidentally got involved in his grandpa's mess
>Cuntami
>Sepia is not Belmont in shitty bomberman spin off
I chose CV: Lord of Shadows
Cause he was just some hermit from a crazy exiled family living in the forest but when he heard Drac was back he just picked up his whip and went to kick his ass.
Are you really that autistic that you can't make a logical inference and assume he probably meant to say "There's less posting over there"?
No shit, I don't understand what he's getting at or why he replied to me in the first place.
>ESL fags
Thanks,dad
The fact all the "Castlevania" is just easter eggs pisses me off
No hidden cult, Chadstlevania 64?
Sounds to me like the art directors are CV fans but the writers aren't.
200%, Ellis even admitted he never played the games. He just looks up shit on wikipedia and picks what he likes.
I just find it bizarre. There are clearly people on the team who know their Castlevania shit or at least did some decent research. Yet the actual end product is nothing like Castlevania.
Ok shit face
Clown Ellis sure can’t write originality.
