Straight boys want to fuck her and western women do too.

Cute, great design, empress. What don't you understand about that?

She was the only ethical choice.
Dimitri is a bootlicker, Seiros is evil and Claude literally wanted to destroy Fodlan forever by flooding it with actual subhuman barbarians.

Azula syndrome, bad bitches get men horny like bad boys get women wet

Because all modern Fire Emblem fans are coomers

>Average FE protag:
>Gee whiz gang, let's all beat the evil empire with the power of friendship and believing!
Meanwhile Edelgard is basically FE Robespierre and asks the player to consider genuine moral gray areas, including the notion of whether her ends (which are unquestionably good) justify her means (which are closer to those of the average FE villain). Villain or hero, she's the primary reason FE3H's story is a breath of fresh air in comparison to other recent titles in the series, and I hope to see more along these lines.

Anybody who didn't cringe every time she was on screen for the last 8 seasons should be killed

Autists make up a significant portion of FE fans

S8 Dany was based as fuck, if you didn't want to fuck her you might be the big gay.

this is the truth
I laugh whenever someone tries to rationalize her philosophy despite them only ever thinking with their dicks

She allows them to kill your father and she launches an army to kill all of the other students, you fucking psycho.

Many people suprisingly liked her after she went genocider mode, Yas Forums was drooling over her back then

Unique != good. Her route was so awful it's hard to enjoy her "character"

That's not true, everyone throughout CF who surrendered was spared.
If those students wanna fight for evil until the end then that's their choice.

There's nothing remarkable about her philosophy. Again, it's essentially just the French Revolution: a bloody uprising to overthrow the existing social caste of the nobility and the church. Her ends are unquestionably good, because I don't think any of us would prefer to live in a feudal society where a noble can have us executed at whim as opposed to the more egalitarian, more strongly law-based societies we have today. I'm not going to argue that her methods didn't get a lot of people killed (again like the French Revolution), of course. I find the genuine ambiguity of her morality very compelling, as let's be honest, FE story is usually paint-by-numbers shonen anime dreck which feels like it's operating in a completely different world from the realities of medieval war.

>it was their fault for not surrendering to a fucking dictator invading a fucking church and killing everybody in sight!
Go to hell, fucking commie scum.

We're making the mother of all omelettes here, Professor. Can't fret over every egg.

I'm not a communist i love capitalism, which is why i'm against an immortal lizard overlord that prevents technological advancement for the sake of maintaining her stranglehold on society.
Kill yourself feudalist bootlicker.

>A fucking dictator
Medieval rulers usually weren't really dictators, user, more like first among equals with the more powerful nobles. With that said, Claude and Dmitri were both also dictators by this standard. It's a medieval setting; applying 21st-century morality doesn't work.

>She was genuinely autistic. I don't know why she was voted most popular in the game.

I don't think many people are gonna say she's poorly written, we just enjoy arguing about who was right.

>I don't think many people are gonna say she's poorly written
You might be surprised at how many FEfags screech autistically at the very sight of anything resembling real-world morality (heaven forbid!) in a game about war.

This, but unironically.

>genuine ambiguity of her morality very compelling
There's no genuine ambiguity to it, though. Dimitri agrees with all of her public-facing agendas and doesn't really know anything about the secret ones, while Claude basically agrees with her public agendas and is in the process of investigating all the secret ones for himself. If she had a five minute conversation with either of them they could have implemented most of what all of them wanted, and the only reason she doesn't is ego and paranoia.

If they wanted to actually make her morally ambiguous, the setup would have had to have been different. For example, if she really, really wanted to kill Rhea and all dragons to truly free humanity, while one or more of the other two thought she was a necessary figurehead to keep the peace despite shady dealings, there would be actual morally-ambiguous conflict there, and the player's choice would come down to "do I value liberty or security more?" instead of "who do I want to fuck?"

>Claude literally wanted to destroy Fodlan forever by flooding it with actual subhuman barbarians.
Yes and? Fodlan are a bunch of fucks ups who could've world domination, but instead nuked each other into a medieval society like this Shin Megami Tensei.

>Many people suprisingly liked her after she went genocider mode, Yas Forums was drooling over her back then
"Many people". Shitskins aren't people. They were spamming her pictures for a year after the show ended. They were spammign her pictures years before, they didn't care about the show they were just obsessed with the indian mutt.

I broke Edelgard's head like an egg, if that's what you're talking about. 3 times.

>i love capitalism, which is why i'm all in for a tyranical empress controlled by immortal overlords and imposing nepotism everywhere, changing absolutely nothing
You're a fucking retard.

>first among equals with the more powerful nobles
>among equals
So. not a dictatorship. Gotcha.

You're a stupid nigger and shouldn't breed

No, Fodlan is the land that the entire story takes place in, you're thinking of the Agarthans (or "those who slither in the dark").
Claude wanted to open Fodlan's borders because "muh racism bad".

She's an incredibly well-written villain in Azure Moon, serving as a great foil to Dimitri. I like her character in that.
She's an awful, awful protagonist in Crimson Flower though. She acts like such a fucking retard and the game expects us to sympathize with her when she says shit like "Must you continue to fight back against my armies? Why won't you just give up and not defend your country?"
Great villain. Terribly written hero.

>I don't know why she was voted most popular in the game.

Trannies who used this creature liked her

>"Must you continue to fight back against my armies? Why won't you just give up and not defend your country?"
But she was literally right.
You're looking at that comment from the most surface level perspective, when she really making the point that Dimitri doesn't actually care about just preventing bloodshed, he wants to prevent bloodshed only as long as he also gets to maintain the current ruling structure.

Don't bully frogs!

>if I rewrite their posts to say something different, I turn out to be right
Wow you really showed them, user

>She was genuinely a bitch. I don't know why she is considered the best protag in the series.
Pro-tip user: women are often retarded cunts. The fact that Edelgard and pic related aren't likeable is a testament to them being well-written female characters.

Attached: Shion0.png (430x1250, 429.95K)

>I'm going to stab you
>What? No, don't do that
>See? You don't really care about violence, you just don't want to get stabbed. Hypocrite.

True. Most edel fans are just yuri shippers with femleth.

Ironic that sjws threw shit over camilla because 'objectifying women'. But gave a pass to femleth because 'muh she's bi'.

But that's not the scenario, why did you feel the need to strawman it like that to make your point?
Dimitri supposedly wants to stop her from killing people, but when given an easy option to basically stop all bloodshed, he refuses because he wants to also continue being king and for the church to continue existing.
Ergo he cares as much about his political ambitions as she does, instead of just wanting to save people no matter what.

>gets to maintain the current ruling structure
He doesn't want to fucking do that though, the game establishes on multiple occasions that Dimitri doesn't like the Crest system either, nor does he believe in the church.
Crimson Flower gives us absolutely no reason to dislike Dimitri or root for his defeat. He's fighting against Edelgard because she's fucking invading Faerghus over her vendetta against Rhea and the Church. He has no reason to believe she hasn't gone completely insane., and act accordingly.
My point is that Edelgard's character is poorly written in Crimson Flower. She has no character arc, no fall from grace, no doubts. She doesn't grow as a character, she doesn't face any true obstacles, and we get absolutely no closure about the fact that she's misinformed on most of the things she fights for. None of this is something you want in a character-focused game's protagonist. Edelgard works infinitely better as a villain.

>but when given an easy option to basically stop all bloodshed
So Dimitri is a bad guy because he didn't immediately surrender to a schizophrenic dictator?

She is based and the best girl. She is right about everything, and moralfags screeching about her here are literally election tourists.

The whole point of that quote is that if all Dmitri cares about is saving lives, he could just stop fighting. But he doesn't, which means he doesn't care about lives first and foremost in that route any more than Edelgard (which is fine, by the way, that's not an indictment of his character). His first concern is maintaining himself and the Church in power.

Depending on the country and context, powerful nobles often had the ability to tell the king, even a strong one, to fuck off right to his face. Why don't you go read a few medieval history books and get back to me.

>I'm going to invade and annex your country
>What do you mean you want to keep your independence?
>What do you mean all your soldiers are willing to die to protect their way of life?
>You just want to maintain your government, the one I'm forcing on you through bloody conquest is much better
It's like if the French Revolutionaries marched into Germany to give them "freedom." The line was meant to just convey that Dimitri was fighting a losing battle for revenge, but it's poorly written

Seethe, moralfag. Edelgard is the opposite of a communist and anyone standing in her way unironically got what was coming to them.

>It's like if the French Revolutionaries marched into Germany to give them "freedom."
This literally happened & they were right to do it.

But those kings weren't able to turn into literal monsters like Edelgard does.

Dimitri is responsible for his country, he's not going to surrender immediately. And the Kingdom would keep fighting anyway. His "political ambitions" are to keep his nation intact from an invading army, it's his only act as ruler

>NOOOOO NOT THE HECKIN' CHURCHERINOOOSS! NOOOO I NEED TO PAY TIIIITHHEEESSSSS

>It's like if the French Revolutionaries marched into Germany to give them "freedom."
user...

>I know your self-interests better than you, now obey or die
Glad to know you're a narcissist

>And the Kingdom would keep fighting anyway.
The nobles, sure. The common people who live and die in the same village wouldn't give a shit who's in charge, they just want to live their lives in peace.

Anti-Edelgardfags always have the weakest grasp on basic history. If you knew how many times a leader took up arms and conquered lands for the pettiest of reasons in history which ended up giving people more rights in the long run, you would probably kill yourself because muh poor soldiers died in all those wars giving you your current rights.

It genuinely is, though. Edelgard decided to start attacking people if they got in her way for an instant, regardless of whether they were guilty, innocent, or just confused as to why this crazy woman invaded their homes and decided she owned them. A war of aggression is very different from a war of defense, especially given how mentally unstable Edelgard is.

Imagine if when Dimitri went crazy, instead of being a weird hobo bandit he decided to conquer the entire landmass. Would you be okay rolling over for such an obvious insane person who could snap and destroy your family and home for an arbitrary reason they don't even tell you, or would you try to defend yourself? That situation does kind of play out in parallel when the kid tries to murder Dimitri and he realizes he kind of deserves it, instead of telling the kid they earned it for getting in his way.

shes my autistic waifu you can't have her she was right all along

Dimitri’s “country” is a frozen sparse shithole, much less a “kingdom”. It deserved to bend the knee to the empire.

It really exposes all the FEfags who have swilled so much basic anime tropes over the years that they're completely unable to recognize a plotline which actually draws competently on real history for once, which is almost never black-and-white

>the opposite of a communist
>tries to impose her retarded and wrong view of the world to everybody else by means of a dictatorship
Sounds like the exact shit to me.

>Edelgard conquers 2 countries, enables murderous molemen, and kills tons of innocents to build a government that better serves the public
>Dimitri, Claude, and Byleth all build a government that better serves the public by stopping her
Why are we arguing about this months later? The devs didn't care to add "gray morality" to any of this, everyone gets an indistinguishable happy ending

Edelgard specifically stated that she has absolutely no grudge against the common people and never sacks any cities, but nice try. As the king of Faerghus Dmitri literally owned all of his citizens. You really need to set aside 20th-century morality and notions of war when it comes to medieval society. Only the nobles gave a shit about who was in charge & that was almost universally due to self-interest.

Exactly. The only reason they give a shit is because muh poor anime friends are dying in the game, even though you can recruit them into your side. They bawl because that faggot fujobait Dimitri logically gets wrecked by Edelgard in every realistic scenario since the empire is way stronger than the other two factions and it was destined to win the war.

If you want to use history as an excuse, then most of these problems should have been solved by disease or circumstance, not dramatic anime battles where characters contrast their philosophies with each other. It's a story, not a documentary.

>make analogy that turns out to have actually happened
>get revealed as an utter retard
>b-better misconstrue his post so people don't realise
Yeah, you really showed him

The Empire is the only faction in the setting that has a real government, and only in the end of Edelgard's route does it resemble anything approaching a modern nation-state. Faerghus and the Alliance are feudal states governed by feudal lords.

>literal Yas Forums-tier understanding of communism and FE3H
Go back election faggot

Except for all the people that died, got raped, lost family members and sufferedn hunger. All of that happened because of Edelgard and nothing else really changed for the ones that didn't suffer any of that after the war.

This might be the most autistic post in the thread. Who raised you to be this retarded?

Nobody's using history as an excuse for anything. It's just nice to see the medieval fantasy wargame genuinely engaging with the gray, complex morality of medieval history and the awful nature of feudal socities instead of uncritically presenting a Saturday morning cartoon level of morality for the fifteenth time.

>but when given an easy option to basically stop all bloodshed
So Dimitri is a bad guy because he didn't immediately surrender to a schizophrenic dictator?

>character is generally reserved and deliberative, instead of breaking facade every other conversation for kawaii points to screech over bugs or some other random thing
>AUTISTIC! SHE"S AUTISTIC

It doesn't matter if it happened, moron. It's stupid to expect another group of people to bend the knee because you claim to know what's better for them. They're always going to fight back, and you can't pin their resistance on stubbornness when you are presently invading their country.

These people have had nothing but basic anime trope archetypes for years now, please understand.

Autistic women are cute. Especially when they have fit bodies and huge tiddies.

Attached: 1585833057963.jpg (1024x1024, 103.67K)

>instead of breaking facade for kawaii points
Have you played Crimson Flower?

>i-it's not true communism, guise! This time it'll be different
Shut the fuck up, commie, nobody cares about your idealistic garbaga, communism in real life is fascism. Nothing else. They're the same thing. Stop trying to separate the two of them.

Like really, guys, the fact that we can actually have these debates over a FE story is absolutely fantastic, and means that they knocked it out of the park. I don't ever want to go back to the usual shonen manga power of friendship crap. These are games about war, so let's see stories that engage with the subject in a provocative manner instead of laying out BAD MAN BAD and GOOD GUYS GOOD again.

Reminder that if you have any rights at all you need to spend every day apologizing to the people who died in wars fighting against them. If you’re American you need to denounce America for taking all that land from the Indians and give it back because you forcefully took it. If you’re British you need to apologize to your Celtic ancestors for reaping the benefits of the Romans taking them over and civilizing them.

cute, autistic, big tiddy anime gf who watches fox news.

Based schizo
Go back to Yas Forums you’re reaching peak cringe

That's not why she's autistic, she's autistic because she starts a grisly war that kills hundreds of thousands of people over history that she doesn't even know.

>They're always going to fight back
If you think the common people of a feudal kingdom were going to launch an armed resistance when their kingdom transferred from one dick overlord they never see to another dick overlord they never see, you have never read a single book about medieval history. These are decentralized, backwards feudal kingdoms, not 20th-century nation states with strong centralized culture and government. You're talking about this like it's WWII instead of a medieval war.

You're basically saying that Edelgard's story draws from "actual history" instead of "anime tropes" which is why she's justified in what she does, but applying it inconsistently. If, like mentions, we're going to use history, then let's actually use history. The story should be about logistics, supply chains and resources, and very little about the philosophies of the characters. Sure, here and there one leader's one philosophy and mentality has changed the course of history, but that's largely not what actually affects change.
