Wrong, by nature of it being licensed music and not original. Even if you don't consider that a negative to begin with, it gets knocked down a peg considering the music they use has to get patched out once the license expires, and rereleased of old titles are near impossible because of it. So, no.

Please get done standards. Sonic music hasn't been good since Colors, and the last truly great OST was Unleashed. Sonic was known for his music but not anymore. Mario music is better, and Odyssey against Forces is the greatest testament to this.

Sonic Unleashed had some great soundtracks. Night levels weren't the best, but they sounded great.

It can't be the best because none of it was original. Every soundtrack was a remix. That is not grounds for a compelling OST.

Sonic is one of those series you can play just for the music alone. That's what I did.
I'd nominate SMT but it doesn't even come close to Sonic, Pokemon, Zelda etc.

Pokemon's music in general is kind of lackluster. The only one that actually had a top tier ost was Colosseum

Pokemon's OST has been waning since XY. Every track is supposed to be memorable, but only battle themes have been. Hell, that hasn't even been the case for SWSH. The only notable theme being the Gym theme.

I honestly never liked SA2's music that much, it was all way too samey for my liking.
SA1 was vastly superior, a much larger variety of music and frankly all-round better melodies.

I was gonna say, Pokemon has a very decent amount of memorable music. That National Park theme from S/G/C? Beautiful.

At work we have a thing where a group of us share game OSTs via messaging, and I always send them links to either that fucking options screen music, the Mother 1 Geigue fight or The Yoshi Clan.

I don't know about better, but Zelda and Halo are up there in terms of quality and consistency.

Music's subjective as fuck so whatever, but I really don't see what makes people like SA2'a OST over 2's.

This ESPECIALLY I don't get, what the fuck, this isn't an issue of subjectivitiy: SA2's soundtrack is just factually more diverse: Each character's stages have totally different music genres, from rock to industrial to electronic to rap to jazz, etc.

SA1's soundtrack is pretty much all the rock tracks you see in SA2's sonic stages, and with way more similar compositions on top of that.
