Remember, the only problem the majority of people have with Nintendo is that they can't afford it.
Everything else they say is just them coping with their financial disparity

Nah fuck that, BotW will be $60 again soon and will remain so even after the Switch's successor comes out. No other company insists on their games selling at that price for more than a year, I mean fuck they even put them out on Game Pass after 3 years.
BOTW could be emulated on a literal toaster today. All third world niggers could play it for free.
It still mediocre.
good
a game's worth doesn't go down so why should the price
It does. BOTW's main selling point was that the Switch had no other launch titles.
the absolute cope
You see the focus of Nintendo games is gameplay that's why they're still worth full price forever, the gameplay hasn't changed.
PlayStation games are just about "Le epic graphics" which become dated within a year so they literally HAVE to and let's not get this twisted HAVE to go on permanent sales or they won't sell AT ALL
>a game's worth doesn't go down
yes it does
>a woman has sex with a lot of men
>gets stds and a loose vagina
>her value goes down
the more people play a game, the less it is worth
Evergreen titles make so many people seethe for some reason.
>woman analogy
top fucking kek
>the more people play a game, the less it is worth
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The more popular a pornstar is the more she gets paid.
Nice analogy
Because it's the most yiddish practices. Nintendo is still selling fucking Wii U games at full price.
I LOVE PAYING 60$ FOR PORTS
nintendos pricing has made it so that i've pirated all their games past the gamecube so..
so you're saying nintendo games are whores?
Oh no what will they ever do now
One incel pirates their games nooooooo
just hack your switch retards. It's not hard.
Analogies are not metaphors.
That's what you did user, then they took your analogy to its conclusion. Why are you so fucking dumb? Don't you have online schooling to get back to? Your teachers can see what websites you visit, even at home.
Ugh, please don't argue on my behalf user..
If the price lowers as Nintendo gets closer to their expected return on investment, that will make the game (along with its gameplay) or accessible to more people.
If people are still buying it why lower it? Shit like mario kart 7 was still selling 250k a year last year. Lowering the price to 10 bucks wasnt gonna make it sell 1.5 milllion
It is ridiculous that Nintendo barely ever lowers the price on their games, but from a business standpoint it's smart.
That said, I haven't owned a Nintendo console since the 3ds, not when I can emulate even the stuff on the Switch by now for the most part.
>If people are still buying it
Please. Nobody is buying Arms, 1 2 Switch, or any Wii U game.
The only people who defend this are diehard Nintendo fanboys who don't own any non-Nintendo systems.
There are plenty of incredible games that have gone on steep sales, the idea that it's okay to keep old games at full price because they're "high-quality" is ludicrous.
>If i don't like it noone is buying it
Literally autistic mindset like actually a sign of autism not being to think outside your own point of view
Arms is quite popular in japan
Yeah but there has to be a point where you have to say Nintendo made enough money off of a game, if keeping it at $60 years after its release is still being a price barrier for people.
Like for kids who have been given a hand-me down 3DS, they probably can't afford MK7.
Do you have any proof that those games are selling? Selling well?
Especially the Wii U games. I'd love to see those numbers.
I paid €70 for botw yesterday (eshop). felt like a total scam. Bought a Switch for covid lockdown but seeing the prices on even old launch titles makes me wonder how many of these overpriced games I'll stomach paying for.
This is absolutely great for everyone who bought physical. I know I can sell my botw copy for $50 no problem, whereas if I had bought any soiny game I could hardly charge $10.
They're a company. I'd love to buy all games for 5 bucks but it's not realistic.
Companies will always go for profit
Look at this.
All within three (3) years, some within 2 (two) one within a couple months.
PlayStation will never ever see these numbers in this timeframe, it's just impossible. They discount their games to 10 bucks and still get capped at 10 mil.
If Nintendo decided to discount their games to 10 bucks these numbers would inflate so much it's be disgusting. But their games aren't worth 10 bucks. Their games maintain their value. Simple as.
Arms is literally 30 dollars less than launch price where I live.
So it's been lowered.
No company would reduce their price if they could get away with it like Nintendo. Nintendo's target audience is literally everyone. All the other big name game development companies target hardcore gamers who buy the game within the first month, pop it, and then move on. This is why the price drops after the first month, no one buys it. In contrast, Nintendo games have a nice long tail as evergreen sales, where they sell consistently every single month and spike in sales each Holiday season. This is also why Nintendo prefers to release a new installment of a series once per system.
>No other company insists on their games selling at that price for more than a year
That’s because their games wouldn’t actually sell if they did. Games like Mario Kart 8 and BOTW are still consistently within the top 10 best selling games. Why would you discount something when it’s making lots of money at that price?
Nintendo does discount games when they don’t sell or when they bomb. That just isn’t very common with their games. But Xenoblade 2 is a recent example, it’s $25. Most video games are front-loaded and sell the majority of their copies on the first day and first week. Sales sink after that and are sustained with discounts. This is one of the reasons Sony delayed TLOU2. It wouldn’t make nearly as much right now for them if it launched when things were more normal plus they’ll make it a PS5 launch title probably. COD games don’t drop in price either, even after the annual release replaces it. They do drop after two years but they still sell for a lot. GTAV was a full price PS360 port/remaster that was rarely discounted and usually around Black Friday or a holiday. Only recently did it get dropped to $25. They’re called evergreen games. Nintendo will eventually drop the price when it make financial sense. That’s what their selects usually are for. Also Nintendo doesn’t like devaluing their games which is why they are stingy with classics but have opened up in recent years to the older ones at least.
But you would have bought that game at 20$, so you'd have a win win situation in that case.
Buy at 20$ and sell at 10$, lost 10$ if you sell, if not you lost 20$.
But at 60 and sell at 50, loss 10 if you sell, if not you lost 60.
Tell me again how this is great?
There are people on Yas Forums who actually, unironically believe a bing bing wahoo machine is a premium device.
Nintendo fans are basically less mature Apple drones.
But it's proven by the vast majority of the gaming market that games don't need to remain $60, 5 years after their release in order to be profitable.
In fact a game's profitability is determined by sales within the first 2 weeks of release, not residual sales that occur many years after release.
and Animal Crossing isn't even on the list yet.
Because retailers don't want shelfwarmers. The digital version is not a penny less than when it launched.
> I LOVE PAYING 60$ FOR PORTS
The two biggest AAA games at the moment are ports of PS1 games
what about the dlc
For most games absolutely. Nintendo games on the other hand sell for years after so it makes sense not to lower the price.
>it's literally okay when Nintendo does it
I hate how we have some anons and jannies who genuinely suck Nintendo's cock day in and day out 24/7.
>Their games maintain their value
>The Same lazy Pokémon game this time on console
>Value
Face the reality. Only first party games sell on Switch, and most of the time they sell because of nostalgiafags. That being said, you are right, Sony won’t beat Nintendo. Nobody really can. Nintendo isn’t even really competing, they just win.
It's like talking to Apple drones, they are americans and they need to worship a company to be happy, is not different from religion.
I feel sorry for them, because they could enjoy many more things and yet they prefer to consol war all the time and defend a multi millionaire company which exploits them at every turn.
I have literally never paid anything to Nintendo. Not a cent in my entire life. Funny part is, there are people here who will feel personally attacked by this.
Just like Apple
Prove me wrong
Lmao how can people not afford Zelda when you can emulate it for free on PC or paperclip your Switch?
it's okay when nintendo does it
So post the fucking sale you faggots. this thread is useless otherwise.
Color me surprised that retards don't know about shit like eBay
Every game should go down in price eventually. It's a time and again proven money maker that cashes in on people who either waited or were too poor to jump in day one. By alienating these people all you're doing is refusing free money and that's retarded. At least Nintendo actually learned with the 3DS and released that selects range so they might eventually set something up like that for Switch.
poor people thread
you need a food analogy, its the only way people understand.
the older a burger gets, the less i'd pay for it.
once it gets old enough sometimes the restaurant will just give them away for free.
and you should be able to get a discount of some sort if the burger is incredibly popular and selling like coke.
i'd also pay less for a burger if someone has already stuck their dick in it
everyone knows nintendo games only appreciate in value. This has been happening for 25 years
>like talking to Apple drones
Holy shit that's it user. That's what bugs me about it. Thank you I couldn't have said it better myself. It's even worse when the jannies have pretty much made this a Nintendo board when it comes to the days of smash reveals and Nintendo directs.
You can see that they are deranged:They literally think that money = value.
Wrong
Im running 2010 hardware, ie, a toaster
Cant run botw at 100%, fag
Could you explain why Nintendo is making more money than everyone else then?
Ports aren't remakes user.
>PlayStation will never ever see these numbers in this timeframe, it's just impossible. They discount their games to 10 bucks and still get capped at 10 mil.
They also bundle their games with consoles and sold a lot of PS4s and bundled games count toward their totals. I’m not referring to bundles of new games where the price of the game is tacked on to the normal cost of the console and you get a fancy box and maybe some baked in decals PlayStation will never ever see these numbers in this timeframe, it's just impossible. They discount their games to 10 bucks and still get capped at 10 mil.
to make it “limited edition” (and usually only a digital version of the game). I’m referring to the Sony garbage bin bundles you see often around the holidays that include the Uncharted collection and Uncharted 4, TLOU remastered, GOW3&4, and now Spider-Man.
The only bundle like that made by Nintendo was last Black Friday including MK8 with the old Switch (not the better battery life one) to clear out inventory of it. MK8 and already sold millions unbundled
>brings up pokemon when discussing shit nintndo games
when will Yas Forums learn that pokemon isn't even made by nintendo?
Your scenario only works if you wait years for the price drop to play the soiny game. Nintendo doesn't have this problem, I can buy at launch and sell years later with minimal loss.
The point is you’re paying $60 for new versions of the same game. In this case games from over 20 years ago. In FF7’s case only 1/8th of the game
>BOTW could be emulated on a literal toaster today
Proof?
Evidence?
Substantiate your wild claim please.
what are your specs bud, latest version of cemu runs botw pretty dang well
>Nintendo is making more money than everyone else then?
they're not though
PSN alone made more money than all of nintendo last year
I can afford it. I own a Switch and the games on it that I care about. However there's a whole bunch of secondary games I have an interest in but won't pay full price for. I'm not paying £40+ for Hyrule Warriors at this point. It's a fucking musou with the Zelda name. Drop it to £20 like every musou on other platforms after this amount of time and I'd happily get it, but until then you can fuck off.
Yep
Nintendo bundles include the price of the game Sony bundles don't
Nintendo games are simply worth more to consumers
yeah, that's my only real complain with the switch (along with the forced 20 dollar p2p online). Can't argue with that, it's shit.
The only defense i might think up is that i don't own a wiiu, so most of those ports are for game i have never played
>twitterly who
fuck off
Could you explain why you think revenue is a relevant metric of success?
>people still buying game at full price
>company doesn't lower price because they understand basic economics
NOOOOOOOOOOOO
They factually aren't. Companies like Sega and Konami are making many times more bank thanks to pachinko alone.
I own majority of interesting Switch releases including Nintendo games and I still think Nintendo selling old ass games for full price is complete bullshit
>loose vagina
my sides have left the orbit, yes user, totally that's how vaginas work and tampons are only used by young virgins that never had anything inside them, because otherwise they would simply keep falling out
>money = value.
How is this deranged?
What do you think determines value?
GTAV is literally the most profitable piece of media ever made and it regularly goes on sale for $15
Excusing nintendo for this bullshit, is frankly, bullshit
It's an entirely different thing though. Remakes are rebuilt from the ground up with modern technology, ports are the exact same code and assets of the originals. Then you've got remasters which are ports with a texture and framerate job chucked on top, which back in the day were just called bloody ports. Shadowman with better framerate and resolution on the Dreamcast wasn't a fucking remaster, it was a port.
>cemu
Weak bait. Cemu is literally a high tier emulator.
Oh wait I get it, you're one of those kids who think a 2 years old computer is already a dinosaur right?
Nintendo are easily the most affordable if you don’t hold on to your games.
No other company can you make almost all of the money back on eBay. Their games retain value. Even my Wii U games I was able to get a great % on
keep moving those goalposts
God of war is literally in the 15-25 € range now. A game of last year.
In Us it's litearlly the same price range.
So tell me again, you buy a game at 20 and in the worst case you lost 20 dollars.
In your worst case you lost 60.
Value in the sense of entertainment value, of course.
But you wouldn't be so dense to talk about semantics when the point was obvious, right?
Digital storefronts are one thing. But sometimes I really have to wonder how you guys think retailing works.
It's typically the retailer that slashes the price of a product, not the manufacturer. The manufacturer just sets their suggested retail price, the MSRP. But when you see a price drop in stores, 9 times out of 10 it wasn't because the manufacturer went back and lowered the MSRP.
It can be any number of reasons from responses to the product's sales trajectory, to the how they simply want to get rid of the product in order to clear the inventory to make room for new products. The list goes on, but it rarely ever involved the actual manufacturer.
Do you think picture related was Sqare Enix getting back to the retailers and suggesting that they should all of a sudden sell their game as if it was nothing trash? Of course not.
That said. Why do Nintendo games seldom get price drops? I don't know. I don't. But I can only assume that they typically have pretty good legs sales wise, but for cases where that's not the case? Beats me. But I don't think it has to do with Nintendo. It's the retailers that sell the games.
This
It took Nintendo 4 years to rerelease Metroid on the nes at a lower price.
I been in this game so fucking long, you children, Nintendo games take a while to drop in price.
I have a cpu from 2010 and a r9 390x and I can get 30-40fps in botw at 1080p, more than the console version in res and fps
>that analogy
We all know you've been neglected your whole life but holy shit, that's not an excuse for being retarded user.
Gamepass kills this autistic argument. Nothing is cheaper than game pass if your plan is to never actually keep your games
Nintendo is probably the only company in the videogame industry that actually thinks about long term gains. They prefer to let something grow instead of ruining it to maximize immediate profits.
Sony, Xbox, EA, Ubisoft or whatever all scramble to follow the latest trend and pander to the lowest common denominator.
Nintendo instead understands brand identity and understands their playerbase. They know what they produce, tho who and what they want. This is why Nintendo manages to be one of the biggest companies despite only making games and not indulging in some of the worst jewery that other companies sink too (not that they don't have jewery, but they are still better than many other companies).
At their core, nintendo still puts the game first. When they create a gimmick it's because they ask themselves "what interesting thing can we do with it?" instead of "it's popular, so let's just do that". They create the trends.
This is why i'm kinda scared about Iwata's death and Reggie going away, they had this very strong idea that games should be game, free of bullshit and that long term gains win against greedy short term. I really hope nintendo won't stray too far from this, but i fear they are already doing it
In FY2018 Sega had an operating income of 17.7 billion yen. Nintendo had 250 billion yen.
The funny thing is.
The Switch has only 55m Hardware Sales.
The PS4 has 110m hardware sales and only 2 of its exclusives sold over 10m. Those were Spiderman and GoW.
I'd count HZD but thats coming to PC now.
>playing at 30-40fps
Even then I still demand proof, where's your screenshot of you running the game? And not in an empty field please.
you will never pass
And the majority of those contributors to the 10 mil were probably bundles lmao
Perfect example of company worshipping.
Just see how he doesn't actually say anything "Nintendo thinks long term", which means absolutely nothing.
"Nintendo not indulging in jewery", when introduces Amiboos and never lowering prices, UNIQUE company in the market who does that.
I can afford it. I can't justify spending that much on a shitty tablet just to play three 8/10 games. Smash is the only game worth 60. Zelda and Mario are not.
>haha my mom bought the funstation hahahaaha have fun with the lame sucky playbox lol
The absolute state of Yas Forums
>Nintendo launches a console, incomes goes up
>Sony launches a console, income goes down
>And not in an empty field please.
wait there are other parts of botw? The real problem though is the shader cache, vulkan runs great but it has a unique-to-each-hardware extra cache that you have to build separately, if you have an nvidia gpu then OpenGL is better
If there's a more demanding area you'd like to see I can play more than the first 30s of the game I guess
Do you have i5 or better CPU? Can you find and install CEMU? You can play BOTW then.
youtube.com
It's funny how nintendo Fans defend the economic state of the company instead of their interests.
"Nintendo makes profit" as something that influences them. They actually prefer a company over they own interests. It's pants on head retarded.
So what exactly happened in 2018 for Sony? That's a pretty sharp rise that instantly ended in a steep decline in the very same year.
Anyone gonna post a link to the sale?
Correct, you yourself admit people need to wait one year to play a game they want without losing money. Nintendo doesn't have this problem.
Why would you lower the price of gold?
>literal open field with nothing
>45fps
Precisely my point.
>i5 is a toaster now according to Yas Forums
How is it it defending to simply State the facts? The fact is the games will sell at that price, unlike.other companies, so they do it
>Our best interests
Not everyone is poor Pablo, 60 bucks is literal chump change unless you're living in a trailer or whatever passes for a house in your 3rd world dump
Big install base means big income. Sony does a lot better now that digital sales are so much more important. A retailer's cut is higher than publishing royalties.
The sharp decline is partly because PS4 hasn't been doing great this year, and partly because FY2019 is only 3/4 done.
pass what?
God of War, Spiderman and SotC probably pushed a lot of sales as exclusives while RDR2 and Monster Hunter World probably helped too. Those were some pretty notable games in 2018.
>Cant run botw at 100%, fag
Well that's fine because neither can the Switch.
Nintendo are the biggest jews in the industry, prove me wrong
>imposing draconian restrictions on people if they talk about Nintendo games on Youtube
>sending C&D to ROM sites because they can't profit off games that aren't available for sale anymore
>refusing to drop the prices on games that came out years ago
>knowingly selling consoles with defective hardware and refusing to fix it or even admit it until after they were sued
>selling shoddy downgraded ports at full price years after they were released on every other console
If Sony or Microshaft pulled this shit the shills wouldn't let us hear the end of it, meanwhile Nintendo does this and way more and it's okay cause Nintendo.
implying any other consolefag doesn't do that as well.
I like nintendo cause they make actual consoles free of useless features and actually offers an experience pc can't give me
>i5 2500k is not a toaster
it's been years user, and a 2500k is probably better than my cpu
again, if you want to see a more demanding area tell me where to go
The bias is disgustingly blatant
>Smashfaggots allowed to spam the board with 10+ threads an hour for weeks or months anytime the slightest bit of Smash info releases or leaks while legitimate vidya discussion gets shut down the second it has more than one thread a week because 'it's a general'
>Directs get instant stickies while any other announcements/reveals get nothing or only get a sticky after ridiculous amounts of people asking for one, mods also don't enforce the use of the sticky and let the toddlers spam pages worth of threads about the very thing the sticky was meant to contain
When I worked at gamestop, even a 10 year old last gen nintendo game would be asked for almost daily. There is a reason they keep their price. And unlike all the yearly releases and multiplats, you almost never get them traded in because people hold onto them to replay over the years.
Funny how you ignore everything in my posts.
If you need to buy a game at launch that bad, I guess you are free to do that. Or you could wait two-three months and pay it 40$. Or 6 to nine months to pay it 20$.
Keep defending companies, I am sure it will work out in the end and they won't exploit you. I'm sure they will give you a caress on the head the next time they fuck you in the ass.
