Valve really did a number on their fans, letting their desperation for another HL game build for 13 long fucking years. The amount of praise HL:A is getting even by people who weren't able to play it, to the point of said people not just accepting HL3 being VR-only but insisting on it, feels like the result of some kind of sadistic relationship where HL fans were held hostage for over a decade, until Valve was able to make them all happily renounce the idea of another KB+M Half-Life game.
But you all realise that Valve will think HL:A was the best HL game ever according to their fance and Half-Life 3 will now be VR only?
Christopher Murphy
>vr only
didnt game say that any future installments with gordon would be traditional nonVR Fps games
Connor Bailey
Source?
Parker Torres
oh great, another -oomer for all of us to enjoy for 3 days until it become irrelevant like the 2 million other ones. At this point im fairly certain its just a bot random generating these, as kids would gotten bored of it now
Kevin Roberts
Relax chief, everything that isn't an -oomer or a frog edit is reddit-tier according to Yas Forums. So what can you do? Innovation with memes was dead long ago.
Nicholas Nguyen
Wow for a board that is endlessly repetitive, you guys are easily offended by derivative memes... I had Yas Forums pegged wrong! I will try harder to be more original next time.
Jayden Lopez
Why did you even need to add a meme? You know you can express yourself without them, right?
Xavier Rogers
I didn't think the image was that big of a deal, was posting about how people seem to universally praise HL:A as being the future despite clearly a majority of HL fans being unable to play it.
How fucked is that? If I knew posting an dumb -oomer edit I made in 5 minutes was going to derail my own thread with people bitching about it, I would have just used some random half-life pic off of google.
Camden Russell
Is likely going to be a hybrid lets be real valve wants to continue that valve is an innovative company meme. Hell so innovative you have timelines of vr and main being traditional you can have both and everybody is happy.
Ethan King
I found one. Apparently valve did vr because they wanted q small audience or a target niche audience and help vr and expand it's library so valve was fully aware they were targeting a niche market.
John Cook
>how was I supposed to know a shit post image would cause an awful thread so this is the intellect of a wojack poster
Hudson Morales
If it is truly the case user then the fanchrise, company and fanbase as delusional compared to the star wars fans are truly lost, besides its just one game your still getting another doom or probably an oldschool shooter revived from the dead and many other games such as spyro and crash is time to move on user maybe hope for a f.e.a.r comeback to.
Jordan Russell
Well let's not kid ourselves here, there hasn't been a brand new meme on Yas Forums in 10 years. And the main reason for that is fags whining about anything that isn't wojak or pepe being from reddit. So there was only a few choices >Smug frog, signalling how I feel smug about not buying into the VR gimmick >Syndroomer. derivative but at least relevant to the post I made >Random Half-Life picture off of google, boring but apparently preferable now >Create brand new meme, which funny or not, will just derail the thread with people accusing it having come from Reddit.
Those are your four options when posting a new thread, If I didn't need to, I wouldn't have posted an image at all, thus avoiding the autistic fixation on the image in the first place.
Kevin Foster
His point is still valid tho.
Ian Evans
>never experienced VR himself then you're a retard, Valve was into VR since Oculus Kickstarter (2012). If you didn't feel in your bones this is the thing that will bring another Half-Life then you're not a true fan or your fucking underage to not be able to cough up a couple hundred bucks for a VR capable system and WMR to experience it.
Oh I've been following VR cunt, but I was never particularly entralled by the idea of >It's like, what if you were playing a Wii, but you were INSIDE the game!? Mindblowing! If I had bought a Rift back in 2012 I would have been playing minigames and janky VR mods for the past 8 years.
Come to think of it, after that I would have been weeping tears of joy that finally there was a game worthwhile playing in VR, even if Valve had to turn HL into a treasure hunting simulator to do it.
Wyatt Thompson
>using a common reaction picture is the same as wasting time making an unfunny oomer meme Not him but you’re retarded.
Josiah Johnson
Clearly no time was spent on the image either.
Dylan Rogers
cool strawman, faggot
Cameron Ward
Here, I’ll respond in the same way you posted the thread and tell me what you think. >DA WHY YOO STOP USE VALV AND USE EPIK RIGH NOW. RIGH NOW. I RINK TO EPIK AND YOU UNINSTAR VALVE AND INSTAR EPIK.
Well I didn't post a Yas Forums-tier meme and I wasn't talking about some kind of fanboy bitch fight between valve and epic?
John Moore
>your not a true fan if you dont want to pay extra shit just to play vidya Oh gee wiz I probably should buy those kinects for those shitty star wars games back in the day or churn a few hundred cash just so I get to be able to play one of my favorite game fanchrises that is exclusive to a certain console or else I am not a true fan. I gotta buy every table top every figurine legit and not 3d print them or else I am not a true warhammer fan.
Brody Fisher
>valve drones like taking it in the ass You know... I may dislike fanbases like the sonic fanbase(but has gotten better and gotten creative for the past few years) and I especially hate the pokemon fanbase but at least they fought back at least the minority did anyway the ones to be the most complacent next to the pokemon fanbase has got to be the half life fanbase my fucking god they took it in the ass and accepted it. It's a pitiful and a pathetic sight to see just because is half life. I dont hate vr but at the very least they should've told valve to fuck off and make a new ip instead made to push vr but nah mate these bloody faggots love that corporate dick in their asses I rather take the bite of a fucking funnel web spider than to ever stoop to that level man what a bunch of sad little cunts eh?
I cant even take the time to read the post or respond. Im just astonished someone would unironically make such a stupid fucking image. Jesus christ how cancerous. Fuck off.
Christian Hughes
>Being a true fan is directly related to how much you will spend on that franchise at the developer's command
>I cant even take the time to read the post or respond. He said in a response.
I mean fucking hell, I know the image sucked at least I wasn't such an autistic tryhard that I went into a thread just to complain about the image, but acting as if I hadn't because I'm above it.
Benjamin Williams
Also >t. SteamVR early adopter
Josiah Rodriguez
How long until Yas Forums can only communicate via oomerology
I dunno, I didn't realise -oomers trigger Yas Forums that much. In 42 posts, more time has been used to moan about the image, than the time I spent making the image.
People have put way too much effort into complaining about it, do people think my own personal sense of worth lives or dies over "The SteamVR stockholm syndroomer" and its reception on Yas Forums? I'd understand if the text in the OP was something faggy like "discuss.", as if I presumed my own image was so hilarious and thought provoking that Yas Forums was going to go in to a meltdown from all the laughing and raging it causes.
Ian Diaz
I don't understand what makes you think it's some kind of Stockholm syndrome deal. Valve has always used Half Life to push new technology and Alyx is a genuinely good game so people like it. There were all those FNaF VR threads back when that came out though I doubt those children could even afford VR even though they still seemed to like the game, for example.
Logan Fisher
Alyx was fun but felt like babies first VR game I hope if they make another VR game they give the game more movement and action RIP Harambe
Because a game that people have waited 13 years for was a game most people couldn't play, that really fucking sucks. But people were so desperate for anything HL, this point no longer matters and everyone is promoting it as the best HL game ever despite it being a VR spin-off. It's more people VNN and kilksphilip on YouTube saying that VR is the future of Half-Life and the style of HL we all loved previously is dead and if you don't like VR then fuck you HL isn't for you anymore. I think people are getting just a little bit too carried away about how good HL:A was? Let's not throw away the idea of HL3 being a m+kb game just yet.
Charles Peterson
Ricochet 2? That seems like it would translate to VR pretty well. Or they could resurrect that Prospero idea they had.
Nicholas Morgan
I wouldn't mind seeing something Portal in VR, the majority of VR owners are stomachlets though so it will never happen
Brayden Howard
cat house tale, yiffalicious or wildlife?
Ryder Baker
I dunno, I think you're forgetting that in Portal you get spun around a lot. When you come out of a Portal upside down it automatically spins you the right way up. That's bound to make even jet fighter pilots shatter their PC screen with violent projectile vomiting.
Angel Thompson
Maybe, you'd be surprised what you can get used too though
Elijah Gray
I dunno, I don't like the idea of needing to personally suffer through my body getting used to VR. I mean I have to pay $1000 and eat gruel for a year which I then chuck up again each time I play on it. >inb4 just earn more money poorfag I have people who depend on me financially, dropping $1000 on a gadget for one game would be reckless unless I was a literal millionaire.
Zachary Campbell
Why are you being so defensive? You know you can get a Samsung Odyssy+ for $230 on sale right? Same res as the Index You also don't suffer, you just stop when you start feeling funny and have a rest
Jeremiah Murphy
>le oomer A noose is your home. Why do you think you’re too good for your home?
Kayden Morales
There should have actually been a gorilla with a headcrab on its head.
Grayson Murphy
What do you mean defensive? That would imply that spending even $230 on a single game is a no-brainer that I need to defend not buying.
>you just stop when you start feeling funny and have a rest Again, that $230 to buy some discomfort.
>What do you mean defensive? I'm talking about video games and you start popping off about how you can't spend $1000 on a VR HMD because you have people who rely on you
Jaxon Price
Back you go newfag
Nicholas Hill
been here since 2006, cakeboy you weren't even conceived back then
Aaron Lee
No you were saying that it doesn't matter that VR causes discomfort because you can get over that, I said I don't want to spend $230-$1000 on being uncomfortable, just to play the latest Half-Life. Which I thought was pretty reasonable, but you say is being defensive.
