This song made me feel mixed emotions and sadness is one of them
Game is subpar but the story is pretty good....then this song hits really fucking hard.

That game was heart wrenching.
And even if I didn't think The Joyful was up to par:

HURK
That fucking game had all sorts of emotions spanning from the painful and joyful. youtu.be
>Adam.png
That's Lilith
i labeled it that before i even watched the movie, so my apologies, i've been too lazy to change it lmao
Dq7 was a pretty somber game in general but damn i love this theme
Oh well fuck me...I was in the middle of posting that exact song. I'll post another then:
how can a man make the goofiest ass shit and yet still somehow it still felt harrowing & full of despair?
Is there any other game that can capture a similar feel?
I want to say yes but lisa is the only game memorable.
Seeing all the good and bad times that Kiryu and Nishiki went through while playing this in karaoke just really plucks at my heart strings.

I just went through the zero games too.
Explorers of sky's grovyle episode was pure unfiltered kino, and I cried buckets when I heard dusknoir's last words to grovyle

grovyle, please tell me... my life... did it shine?
Not necessarily sad, but really gloomy
Kino
Here are some of my favourites. Do end credit songs count?
Finally, some fucking Kino.
God damn just hearing this song makes me tear up.
You know... when I was young... I hated my eyes... And now that I'm older, I hate what my body has become. But there's something else there now. Something like... pride. You know?
God bless the user who posted this song however many years back when I first heard it.:
man
This. It blows the mind how everyone is so obsessed with subtext until they're presented with it.
>"wtf he was so easy just parry lmao"
>"wtf the last boss song is a stupid piano song lmao"
youtube.com
patrician taste. the ending sequence made me tear up a bit
Obligatory Hotline Miami post. Oh and Risk of Rain too (is the OST in the second game just as good?).
That said, I played Black Mesa twice, back to back, partially because the OST was just that good.

What does it for me is his fall from grace, a powerful lord of the flame reduced to a husk, one that's probably completely insane from pain and desolation. Now called a lord of cinder, it is a fitting title to such a pitiful wreck.
op here, not really responding to the music people are posting (they're all great songs honestly). never played the first ror, but from the 20-30 hours i've played of ror2, it has a pretty damn good soundtrack.
You're such a bright young man.
?
Sounds great, I'm glad there's something to look forward to when the game's out of EA. That said, I would suggest you do at least one playthrough of the first game - the OST is great but the way it's woven with the game itself is... well, suffice to say, people have broken once they reached the last level of the game.

Maybe a little more intense than some others here, but god damn.
MOTHER 3 is cheating; probably one of the most depressing games Nintendo has ever put out.
damn, that sounds great; i highly recommend playing ror2 even while it's in EA, it's a fucking beautifully made game, and they take a lot of creative input from the community. sad i didn't experience ror1 when it was at its peak, but glad i get to enjoy this game so much

The very definition of "rainy mood".
>i need a theme song for a story about a man whose wife and infant child is murdered in the opening minute
>no problem bro

You didn't forget about them, did you user?
God Damn. Just as great if not better than any single player RPG, Shadowbringers was.
