Unless you're talking about the design only, in which case you're still wrong. Modern Sonic is the definition of re-inventing the wheel. It destroyed any sort of timeless appeal Sonic had by pigeonholing him into an extremely specific timeframe in the late 90s/early 2000s.

Listen dipshit, that was just marketing and ancillary media that portrayed Sonic like that. In the games he was much more reserved. People didn't like Sonic because of his other appearances, they liked him because of his games. What they did with Modern Sonic was merge his bullshit marketing gimmick persona with the games' Sonic. Sure, it worked to spark some attention for a brief while, but it wore out its welcome VERY quickly. Modern Sonic's existence is unnecessary and did a lot more harm than good to the franchise's reputation overall.
I know you're shitposting but there are people who genuinely believe this is and it makes me die a little more inside every time I see posts like it. Sonic Team really did a number on you kids, didn't they? I'm actually sorry you all didn't get to experience Sonic at his best.
