I was mainly interested in his moveset but I had to stop and think about it before and he'd probably play "like his own series" given literally every third-party character since Sonic and Snake. That ended up being the case, Banjo doesn't particularly shine in any particular aspect compared to most other characters, he's a "heavy generalist" like his 3D platforming games demand.

Banjo's actually my least favorite of the 5. Never played his game and his moveset doesn't interest me much. Joker was the most hype for me, but I love everybody besides Banjo. Don't even dislike him, he just didn't make much of an impact on me.

Banjo-Kazooie was the peak. Hopefully all the other new fighters will be similar. They probably won't be though.

Crash (and MAYBE Spyro) have a shot off their recent revitalization, but Actiblizz is notoriously expensive and horeshit to reach deals with, on top of not being local in Japan. As for Rayman, there probably just wasn't enough interest on one side or the other beyond the spirit-treatment that Legend/Rabbids publishing bought him.
