Imagine actually paying $60 for this shit
Imagine actually paying $60 for this shit
whats wrong here?
i dont play these games can someone explain?
jrpgs are for fags and all
I actually paid $110, but yes I can imagine it
The time jannies are mad that Hojo was about to spoil Final Fantasy 7.
Imagine imagining imagination
I don't remember the original much, did they not meet Hojo the first time around?
Cloud not being a SOLDIER is the game’s key plot twist and doesn’t get revealed until late disc two.
This is actually dumb on a comedic level. It's like one of the writers came up with the idea where they give the player dialogue options that would deviate from the original and the ghosts would pop up and stop it from happening as a joke, then decided that it was actually just the plot. It's so goddamn silly.
They did, but he had no fucking idea who Cloud was and didn't remember until much, much later in the game.
It's just Nomura dabbing on retarded purists that want everything to be exactly the same.
Very clever meta-commentary on the nature of remakes.
So what triggered remake's deviation from the original plot? Why does Hojo remember him that early?
okay I've heard about the time jannies but I wasn't expecting them to mosh pit him away like that
Sephiroth went back in time after Advent Children.
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO MAKE A FUCKING REMAKE THEN DON'T MAKE ONE
THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO
>imagine thinking nomura wouldn't make a game with kingdom hearts-tier writing, and gay advent children cinematics, instead of a faithful remake
>imagine defending timeline retcon fuckery for "what if bad part turned out good??"
Apologize to FFVII purist now
Are you fucking kidding me
Why does he like spoiling the story so much?
Did nobody tell him to "Hojo horses"?
It's just silly that instead of like reversing time or something, they drag them away like a bad comedian being pulled off stage Shepherd's Crook style.
>blowing your load this hard AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME
Way to completely invalidate every enemy that isn't Sephiroth from here on out.
Why would they even give a shit about the Midgar Zolom when they're literally hopping around flying buildings and shit an hour before they encounter him?
>NOOOOOO TIME JANNIES NOOOO I WANTED TO KILL HIIIIIM
They announced it ages ago as a "break in case of emergency" button
They can't go back on that now
>completely invalidates the main character's arc
nothing personnel boys
>he thinks there will be a zolom
lmao you're getting nifelheim and then the crater and you'll like it
thats pretty good, user
heres a (you)
imagine crying over children's video games
This. SE needed a hit. They tried really hard to hide all this shit from everyone and make it seem like it was a faithful remake, and they made it to a week before release before the news broke.
so he just straight up won against this? damn he's good
>Barret's death fakeout was literally shorter than fucking Goofy's
The time jannies made him lose, with them dead he just wins with no problem.
>instead of just having Aerith stop him by appealing to Cloud's humanity and begging him to show mercy the time jannies swoop in
Hojo looks fucking great.
>Sephiroth drifting lazily into the sky like he's been snagged by God's fishing hook
This will never fail to make me laugh
Nigga this is a board about video games.
Get out
Sephiroth died on his way to the Lifestream
That's the worst part. Everything LOOKS really good. If they'd kept it in line with the original it would have been a hit.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuut no
I really wouldn't mind the remake going in a drastically different direction with things like killing Barret if they'd just have the decency to actually do it instead of having it happen solely to show the time jannies go full time janny
So can someone explain to me what's the given reason for everyone doing shit they shouldn't be doing?
Don't tell me it's some shit like
>well it's a remake and we wanted them to do different stuff but the meta verse wouldn't allow it
This. I'm at least glad they didn't give him the obligatory pretty boy treatment like everyone else
This would have been pure kino if they actually had the balls to commit to it
so the ghosts had a hand in the og timeline too? I don't get it
Time traveling Sephiroth.
I don't mind the changing things. If I want to see the exact same story again, I'll just replay the original for the 20th time.
So did the time jannies get deleted in the end and parts two and three are going to go somewhere different maybe, or is it gonna be two more games of these shenanigans?
But what does that mean? How does he influence, say, Cloud to want to kill Reno? Or Aerith almost falling from the balcony?
My problem with the game is that it was advertized as a faithful remake, not a sequel.
Would be like remaking the original MG1, but Solid Snake get killed by Venom Snake at the end.
I guarantee you that if they weren't deleted at the end of this one they will at the end of the next one and the final part will be pretty much 100% original
Fuck you Carlos
Nobody knows. It's all speculation at this point but based on the massive bait and switch they pulled for Part I I bet they're just going to say fuck it to secrecy and straight up have the time ghosts set Cloud and Sephiroth up playing tennis with the Meteor for the fate of the Planet in Part II
I've heard it described as a time traveling sequel to advent children.
He just does. Because fuck you.
or making an mgs game with snake heavily featured in advertisements but it turns out he's only playable for 10 minutes
It's more akin to doing The Twin Snakes, but the game ends at the Vulcan Raven tank battle except instead it's Liquid in REX and there's a ton of padding in between
if Konami did that without Kojima, people would have gone apeshit.
But Raiden already was teased in metal gear ghost babel. people just never played it.
>Cloud x Aerith fags about to be btfo
oh no no no
Man, fuck video games.
I don't mind the chaning things. If i want to see the exact same story again, I'll just replay the original for the 20th time.
You weren't around for MGS2's release, were you? People DID go apeshit
and there's also Ocelot timetraveling.
>was excited that old and new players could experience the story of FF7 again
>Nomura: NOPE
let's assume this was not called Remake for a second here - maybe it'd get called FF7Remix. Barrett dies, but you get Dyne. Tifa dies and you get to keep Aeris. Things like that keep cropping up and they do something different. I'd like that idea. The whole time jannies thing, while hillariously poorly executed, is maybe the stupidest thing I've seen in a game plot in a while.
Just found out there's a FF IV mod called Uncertain Crisis (or something like that) where basically that scene that sucks the party into the underworld never happens, so Rydia never leaves the party, Yang never gets amnesia, etc. and someone just rewrote like the whole second half of the game.
Is that ACTUALLY what happened there? Why would the time jannies want him dead to begin with? Who's deciding on what should happen and what shouldn't? Fucking Homestuck's time shit made more sense than this
Yes, we heard you here For everyone who wanted what they were advertising, this is a huge slap in the face
but it was calmed just few years after.
for V, people also praised Kojima for the venom snake plot twist.
Time jannies looking kinda familiar
redpill me on the mystery niggas
whats their endgame
They don't care about who lives and who dies, they just want everything to happen as closely as it did to the original game as possible.
But why?
they don't like change
get it just like you
ha ha what a twist
I'm a smart writer
I presume it is, because once you kill the time jannies for good Zack is shown to survive.
