Wait, what'd I miss?
Just play community servers fag.
Huh?
Did something happen again?
absolutely awful, why couldn't valve just donate it to a dev who cared or pay some studio to maintain it or something
nothing at all, the game is the same as its always been the past few years. don't know what the fuck OP is on about.
i'm happy
servers are shutting down.
Probably cause of all the people crashing them constantly.
aimbot spam but they have a way to crash servers now due to a source engine exploit
>Matchmaking cancer drama
And nothing of value was lost.
Shame theres nothing else left.
Eh I played it for 10 years, with plenty of different groups of people, none of which play any more, had a blast all the way but get kinda bored now when I play on my own. New updates always seem a little lackluster when it just comes down to a couple new weapons that dont change much when people stop using them and go back to the weapons they like and I dont open crates for the new hats. It had a great run, could of been far greater, but valve are lazy and always will be. Portal and Left 4 dead are also forgotten so it's really not a surprise that this is next
it's an over 12 year old game
this was inevitable but i'd be lying if i said it still doesn't suck to see this happen
>Death
I think you rebirth. Once we kill off Valve's matchmaking the game can finally move on to being supported 100% by the community servers for all eternity instead of bottlenecking the playerbase into some shitty servers Valve will stop hosting eventually.
This is a wakeup call.
TF2 died many years ago. It's a zombie now, "alive" but not truly alive.
last comic and good conclusion to the story never ever ever ever
tf2 has been on life support since 2011 with lootshit gambling implemented and the devs not actually producing any content, just outsourcing to the steam workshop. they tried to spark a resurgence with inferno but it performed badly and the game is as dead as it's ever been. i would rather valve work on their new projects like l4d3 and hl3 instead of trying to sink even more resources trying to revive this corpse of a game.
pure delusion.
l4d3 isn't being made by valve, turtle rock is making the spritual successor now that they no longer work for valve who wouldn't let them do it
will probably be garbage but we'll see
>l4d3 isn't being made by valve
according to assets in hl alyx and beta builds it is being made. don't listen to valve PR when they lie about fucking everything.
People STILL are playing Counterstrike 1.6
TF2 needs to step onto the next stage of it's life cycle like every other multiplayer game.
yeah and cs 1.6 hasn't gotten any dev support or updates. it's a niche little community that plays it, enough for you to never have difficulty finding matches but not enough to be considered "alive". same thing has already happened a long time ago with tf2.
>Matchmaking is dead
>Community servers on the rise again
How is this a "death"?
I stopped playing consistently in 2013.
Matchmaking killed the game.
really? that would be nice. they did make l4d2 without them so I guess it wouldn't be too hard.
NOOOO COMMUNITY SERVERS ARE ALL TFORT AND TURBINE PLAY ON THE HECKING CASUALERINO
good I'm sick of seeing those stupid player characters in memes
>COMMUNITY SERVERS ARE ALL TFORT AND TURBINE
they are
name 5 servers that have 20+ players on maps that aren't ctf, trade, deathrun, vsh, plr
We knew that from the MyM update
>CS 1.6 is dead when it's still in the top 100 games on Steam right now
Weird definition of dead, I'd personally consider games like TFC and the original Warcraft 3 as actually dead games.
There's plenty of games that are no longer supported people still play so it's weird calling them all "dead".
No you don't get it it must have at least 1 entry on blizzard's blog every month or it's literally dead!
>No you don't get it it must have at least 1 entry on blizzard's blog every month or it's literally dead!
its been nearly 900 days since jungle inferno.
creators tf severs
community made maps made after 2013 are shit
I've never heard this take before.
Why?
because he hates tf2 and wants to shit on it every way he can. if one type of shitting doesn't work make up another.
awful gimmicks and bland, barren level design
this is coming from an amateur mapper since 2011
>this is coming from an amateur mapper since 2011
I don't want to be rude, but cmon that doesn't make you an arbiter on quality. I've played loads of fun new maps. Especially on Community servers.
maybe it's time to let it go and call it a day.
anons have to move on for better shit and make it another classic
How does it make you feel I report you fags every time I see you both on steam forums and on this site.
I'm ok, I had my fun and I said goodbye.
feels bad man
lmao, I used to actively cheat in this game and haven't been banned since 2017. Such an abusive relationship this game has with its developers
>move on to better shit
Name one.
Based can't wait for shitmaking to die so the community can step the fuck up
>502472262
nice bait
Reminder that is happening because of Half-Life: Alyx. Fuck Half-Life.
All of you mention "go play community servers" but how much longer will that be before the bots jump into those server?
If only, unfortunately I don't think community servers will ever truly make a comeback.
can't they just ban the ip's of the bots?
The most amazing thing is just the lack of shits given by the Valve team.
What other entity in life just brushes off an attack on ones property?
Valve probably just does a cost analysis and realizes it doesn't affect the money much and thus they don't care, and thus just shifts the burden to the players.
Valve is a shitty citizen and is exploiting lax regulations on big tech.
Stop lying. Servers have always been athing, moron. Just because Matchmaking reduced the number of people playing & keeping servers, doesnt mean servers are few & empty. Hell, with Creator.tf, and the aimbot crisis, people are playing servers more
Am I? TF2 died in 2010. Doesn't this mean that someone graverobbed it?
the era of team shooters is coming to a close, there isn’t any shit to move on to. All online games nowadays feel like they need to select a match for you like you’re a baby in a crib, it killed multiplayer shooters for good
I don't know about how it works in the end of the owner but how hard it is for someone to make that kind of bot change their's ip?
Valve seems to take the stance of,
>if i can make money from known criminals, that's fine, as long as those criminals aren't disrupting my million dollar neighborhood
Time to bring back drive-bys for hire.
Payload maps are pretty fun, but yeah koth maps often fall for the three lanes meme, or just being a amature viaduct remake.
People have been calling TF2 dead since before it's releace, people just get burnt out can call it dead just becasue they've stopped playing. Friendkillers will just be a footnote on TF2's ever expanding tomb stone.
It really is strange, especially since most of the damage is done by one single person with some bots, or at least that's how it was a few months ago when I played. I can't imagine it would take much from valve to stop it.
so are we going to get some pure vanilla tf2 community servers that aren't skial now because of this lagbot epidemic?
Maybe not the way they were before, but people who want to play the game are eventually going to be forced to make their own servers
It'll never be like the great days with populated mod servers everywhere and tons of variety. It'll come back smaller as I think a lot of people are going to quit rather than switch and figure out how to play. The best chance the game has is Valve deleting Casual mode I think.
do you guys think Valve is even aware that they’re notorious for being lazy as shit and refusing to communicate? Putting out tweets once in a while would do wonders for improving their reputation, and it takes 5 minutes to log into whatever social media and say something to let people know you still fucking make games
>we’re trying to fix this
>we’re working on this
imagine how revolutionary this would be for Valve if they actually communicated with the players
Why do Mario Kart servers always have shitty plugs? I wanna play dm on it, but haven't for years
Any of the billion 24/7 Upward and Barnblitz servers.
he said 20+ players
This
It's so baffling why valve can't just go on any social and just say what the fuck they are doing
The difference is community servers typically have administration that actually gives a shit about the servers they're paying for not being hacker filled shit shows.
how much are community servers anyway
There are older games which still have an active playerbase.
