cute mado dude
qt
Look at this cute loser. no friends no family no job no social life. Imagine live like this haha....ha
I see a knife in her hand.
gobou the mystery man of yume nikki. the man who could revive the community back from the sleeping
I haven't seen a Yume Nikki thread in a long time
they tend to be pretty slow these days
still comfy
Yume Nikki threads are pretty uncommon, so let me ask something:
Any news about the Yas Forums fangame or any other fangame?
yume shikki is pretty much vaporware
lolrust released a new game
he is a treasure
yeah, it's milya[broken]
lol-rust.itch.io
Looks weird as fuck, I still need to try it. I think it's a mix of walk simulator and console hacking the security systems that block the MC. Something along these lines.
I didn't choose the hikki life
the hikki life chose me
Lolrust has such an iconic style, i can see how much has he improved since .Flow. Such a dark, bloody and "rusty" atmosphere like Shoujo Kidan/Gidan.
Anyways, which fangame do you like most?
Mine is 2kki and LCDDEM(Shame that K*ronba disappeared from the internet)
>almost 20 years later
>still the best Dream themed game
How did Kikiyama do it?
CEASE
Japanese gene. I know it's a joke but man almost every japaneses I know are very god tier at making vidya
2kki is really great, I still haven't seen everything it has to offer.
For LCD DEM, the music is really great (I love the rice field loops, the end theme...).
Areas are hit or mix, it certainly has some of the most empty feeling areas, that feel unfinished more than the usual feel of emptyness in these kind of games. However, it also has my favorite area from these games, the Stained Glass World.
Koronba's whole mystery really adds up to the mix. I think LCD DEM if it had been worked on some of these unfinished areas, would be an absolute gem, but it remains a flawed one.
.flow is still the best as far as I'm concerned.
It took all of the spooky bits of Yume Nikki and cranked them up to 11 while still managing to stand out on its own. Awesome atmosphere for an rpg maker game.
DO NOT
Warau Warawau is my favorite YN fangame
However, my top favorite is .flow.
It's all so tight, such a perfect balance of emptyness and content. It's a mastercraft of vague story cues, and the themes are really cohesive.
The atmosphere is beyond horrifying without feeling as overly edgy despite the bodyparts (looking at you Fleshchild, Me). There's this feeling of subliminal body horror, of things gone horribly wrong.
The whole play with wabisabi, rusting, decay, illness and loneliness is absolutely kino. I wish there were more games like this, but most bodyhorror from other games feels tacky or silly somehow. (besides I'd say playing Doom for the first time in the 90's, in software mode).
I think it's this japanese subculture of butô and wabi-sabi that allowed for this kind of atmosphere.
Finally, Sabi is cute, cool, a nonpassive victim of circumstances, must protecc and rebuild legs.
Chill out, that will be the last time i'll call him by his name.
I agree, games like ME, Saigo No Uta and Fleshchild(Such a promising game) failed giving me that kind of "atmosphere" that .Flow gave me.
:^(
These games are great for playing during quarantine
Imagine an alien pandemic where most living beings end up mutating into these weird, but mostly peaceful creatures, and parts of the world end up covered in astral ancient mesoamerican entities.
You are one of the few immune survivors, wandering the lands...
Which fangames do you think they were wasted potentials?
Here's my list:
- Dream Diary (I don't know if i should consider it a fangame or not, since Kikiyama was supposedly involved in this game)
- Fleshchild
- Dream VS Dream
- Usagi
- NostAIgic
Just to mention a few, most of the fangames have kinda interesting concepts but they're just a Hit or miss in execution.
it's on life support right now, not completely dead but barely hanging on
2010: ahaha imagine letting things get so bad
2020:
Wait
Its Yume Hikki?
I thought it was yume nikki.
I liked Answered Prayers, but it's been incomplete since forever...
.flow weirds me out.
Unlike YN it most definitely has an actual storyline but its still too cryptic for me to make anything out myself.
you just reminded me of this video.
youtube.com
he probably meant hiki as in hikikomori, a shut-in
yeah that subliminal feel of everything flying over your head story wise adds to the unnerving atmosphere.
I hope Oreko is ok...
By the way, last update added kind of a past version of Sabitsuki's apartments, with sort of a storyline. Also Smile's face close up. I guess some people don't know about this update.
well yume 4kki goes without saying unless the team suddenly decides to get back together
With this pandemic going on, now i realize that is actually possible to experiment the same situation that Madotsuki lived.
what exactly is the Sugar Hole? Why are there gasmask maids? who's the smoking girl in Sabi's past apartment, her mother?
Who's the lady that owns the Sugar Hole?
What happened in the neon light district motel?
What happened with Smile? Oreko?
What the fuck happened in the ending?
Is the credits scene canon?
Is the game ending just another layer of .flow? Were we in .flow all along? The game does start with Sabi floating in a static screen, and then it reveals Sabi's room...
nows as a good a time as any to practice lucid dreaming, user
I almost wish for a sequel or even just another update that could provide more clues about what the fuck is going on.
Revealing too much info is poison to these sorts of games but the world set up here is pretty interesting, makes me want to know more.

That Dream Diary fraud game was shit, but at least it had some nice music
The manga was mostly a blunder too.
I hope kikiyama at least got paid a lot for whoring out yume nikki
One of my favourite places of Yume Nikki are the barracks settlement, Mars and the FC World, the soundtrack sounds so strange, it makes me feel nostalgic, i don't know how to describe this feeling.

I love these enigmatic protagonists so fucking much.
batter and frisk stealing the show every time
He either died in the tsunami or trascended to join his ancient Paracas overlords. Either way he can't get paid or sue.
>another yn thread that pops up when I'm about to sleep
I'll get back into image dumping one of these days. Hope you all have a nice dream whenever you decide to head to bed.
Happy family. Best friends.
Dream Diary feels too linear for me, it lacked the exploration and the enigmatic symbolism that Yume Nikki had, i wish that every map from Dream Diary were like Snow World, but desu i liked some of the puzzles and the gorgeous soundtrack.

What is the name of the character who is at the left of the batter?
Moochasu, the protagonist of the Towelket series

mandatory 24EFFECTS OST post
Kadokawa wouldn't just try to profit off of the intellectual property of a dead person and then lie about it....would they?
I can appreciate that the developers of Dream Diary seem like they tried to make a good game. The pink sea was very nicely executed to me. To me, it shows that at least a few people cared on the development team. Living up to the original was an impossible task. At least there was some honest effort put in.
Do I like Mado because I see myself in her, or is it something else?
I have this pic from before Undertale released
MADO
SUUUUUUUUUUUUU
