Where the FUCK do you find a decent computer chair? Every single one I've ever bought from a furniture store has turned out to be cheap crap that breaks or degrades rapidly after purchase. No matter where I get them there's always a problem after a few months. Like the one I'm on now has a problem with the gas lift where it just goes down randomly. Are office chairs a meme?
Where the FUCK do you find a decent computer chair...
Gaming chairs are good
get a new ass retard
try dropping about 100lbs
thats what you get for buying CHEAP CRAP dumb nigger. cop yourself a herman miller aeron, embody or a steelcase leap v2
lol just levitate bro
>Are office chairs a meme?
Yes. Get yourself a DX Racer, they might be a little expensive but it's an investment for years of comfort and quality.
ive had this bad boy for years now.
the leather might be peeling off, but the fucker is still standing.
There really isn't any such thing.
Switch to the sofa and a controller.
1k for a chair is crazy but it's worth it.
I love it when my chairs come with ads
look up an office outfitter and see if you can get a single executive chair
I had this exact model. Only lasted a year.
The store I bought mine at literally had them and they are cheap ass plastic and cheap fabric you'd find on bookbags for outer pockets for double the price. Reusable shopping bags are higher quality and they're shit too.
I paid 400 for my office chair and they were fucking 800 for a shitty piece of garbage I suspect wouldn't have lasted more than 3 months.
can someone explain the obsession with getting a proper chair for gaming to me? I’ve sat on wooden chairs with just a pillow for my ass for years, never had any back pain/issues
Pic related isn’t the exact chair I use but it’s close enough
The one I've got at work is very good but looks very basic.
I wanted to buy the exact one for home and was shocked to find out that they cost 400-700 Euros depending on the configuration.
Depending on the person wooden chairs can block off blood flow circulation.
There's also the lack of head rest when you just wanna lay back.
find a replacement for the pneumatic tube if you like the rest of the chair. if you want true quality, find a leather chair. you'll have to pay a lot, but you get what you pay for.
You cant really lean back in those chairs
Lose weight
yeah idk either. i sit on an upholstered dinner chair with a couple folded towels on the seat to increase the padding
That's because you're a young fag.
you can if the back is upholstered, just slide your pelvis forward on the seat
but you can crack your back with those things.
It feels so fucken bliss yo.
Yeah what the fuck
Why are these bog standard old chairs so expensive?
you can get chairs like that for $100. that site is a scam, whatever it is
You buy a cheap second hand aeron, you complete fucking moron. They built a million of the things, and they're the biggest meme chair around, which means they're easy to find for 200-300 bucks.
Then, you enjoy year-round comfort for the rest of your life. I've had mine for about 8 years at this point, and it'd been used in an office setting for easily 5-10 years before that.
I've had the arm rest fall off, which was fixed with a one dollar bolt. Recently, the vinyl cushion on one of the arms has developed a crack, but it's not bad enough to warrant replacement yet. If I wanted to replace it, it would cost me about 20 bucks.
This thing is Theseus's chair. If anything does break, which is fairly unlikely in the first place, but will occasionally happen, you'll be able to find replacement parts until the end of time. If anything fails on your cheap piece of shit chair, it's done. Either you drill some holes and try and stick the thing back together, or you throw it out.
>buy an expensive """"gaming"""" chair
>breaks after a year
>buy a moderately priced office chair
>shit lasts for over a decade
>29
I got this from work and it's the best chair I have ever used.
>buying "office chairs" from a regular furniture store
look for a place selling defect/slightly used chairs from companies instead, been using my chair for around 8 years with an average of 10 hours per day and still nothing wrong with it beside some cosmetic damage. Paid like 200 bucks for it.
It's Officeworks, the main generic office supplies store in Australia. All the other office furniture stores are the same.
>They built a million of the things, and they're the biggest meme chair around
Why are they so expensive then
officeworks is bottom feeder garbage
try a site like swan street sales, furnitureatwork, activeoffices, adco furniture, equipofficefurniture etc
oh, so that's still almost $300 usd for a chair in the US we'd pay around $100 usd for. i wonder who could be behind this
>armrests so tall you can't roll them under the desk
>and even if you could, the gap between your legs and the bottom of the desk is 9in, forearms pivoting on the edge of the desk like a fulcrum
>can't take the armrests off because they are the only thing holding the assembly together
Wow it turns out the "office chairs" are the real overpriced low-quality bullshit.
Because they're marketed to businesses, who can eat a thousand dollar chair cost because they're morons. Then, when the startup goes bust, the chairs get sold off for cheap.
For a 300 dollar chair, the quality is unreal. The thing was originally developed as a chair for old people, the mesh is designed to be cool in summer but warm in winter, and when they realised old people didn't have any money, they started selling to businesses instead.
I'd never in a million years go back to a chair with foam padding. Mesh is just an objectively superior experience, and to date I haven't noticed any degradation. Even if it did tear one day, I'd just buy another seat/back panel for cheap.
techcrunch.com
Don't buy things made in china.
What the fuck, was the adjustment mechanism gasoline powered?
Get a decent brand name office chair. Admittedly the price point where they stop being fucking garbage quality is fairly high, but if you stick to a decent brand just a straight up office chair will do you wonders. They're also lightyears better than any 'gaming' chair nonsense for quality/dollar ratio. A good $200-300 bucks will save your back and joints a fuck load. Just sucks there's a really steep cliff difference between cheap ass garbage with chairs, and anything that's good.
A place I contracted at had Steelcase Leap chairs for it's staff, and they were extremely comfortable. I might buy one if I'm going to be stuck working from home for another month.
All those "racing chairs" look way to stiff and uncomfortable.
Watching this thread. I've been using a kitchen chair for 4 years now. Pretty sure it's contributed to my back pain.
>A good $200-300
Try $1500 in Australia
Yeah but that's in dollarydoos.
Bought a DxRacer King. I am 192cm, but it's actually too tall for me, I think. Also, I would love a recliner setting somewhere before the first two that actually exist. Achieving maximum comfiness isn't easy, it turns out.
Well sure, okay, markup and currency conversion aside, the point remains. The fact your in Australia isn't going to change that you're going to have to shell out decent money for a good chair. Cheap shit chairs are still going to be that there, you're just stuck paying more for them. Your unfortunate reality is that you're going to just have to shell out more than most of us to cross that steep cliff into the quality zone of office chairs.
I've had a WorkPro chair with a mesh seat for 3 years now, and it's still perfect. I'm never buying those shitting fake leather chairs again. They cost more, go flat, and start peeling off after a year.
Nice headphone cable you got there... It would be a shame if I were to roll over it...
just buy a "gaming chair". theres a reason why those chairs are modeled after racing bucket seats. they are meant to be comfy.
yeah, its fucking dumb thinking about it but just deal with it.
You order from Secret Lab and call it a day
Basic ikea desk chair
I had a fancy gamer chair before and didn't like it as much
What are headphones?
You mean airpods?
Maybe if you weren't such an obese retard, your chairs would last longer, shit, maybe you'd even have sex one day. think about it
Sorry, but those chairs are fucking horrible. They don't even have lumbar support. They just give you some shitty ass pillow with a strap.
Gaming chairs are bought by retarded pc fags just like led lighting. They fall for every meme
medical recliners typical cost an astronomical amount of money ($700 to $2000) from american sellers. but I found that chinese suppliers sell them for quite a good price. don't how much the shipping is though, probably a lot. I don't know why small lay z boy style recliners with wheels like pic related are so expensive.
Had that exact chair and it was a piece of shit. It's made of this tissue then leather coating and breaks up and leaves little bits of black shit everywhere until it's down to the raw mesh material. got a chair I love but it was tough to find. It's a herman miller ergon 3 chair. all the law offices used to use them. it's big and sturdy as hell. herman miller new chairs are shit. they ditched cushion material and are all vented mesh crap. when the ergo 3 released it sold for like $600. found some wherehouse in texas where they had like 200 of them. emailed her and she said "we usually sell them in bulk. to get a single chair? that's $100." I said "DEAL" then she goes "did I say $100? I meant $150" I said "DEAL" and she goes "OH and $100 shipping." and I said "Give me the damn chair!" I am terrible at haggling. You could probably do better.
God, this looks so pathetic. It looks like something you would find in a hospital.
It's not that hard when you weigh 180 lbs
Try not being fat
the term "genuine leather" isn't reassuring you that the item is made of real leather, it as an actual distinct grade of leather and is the second worst type of leather there is
just get the amazon basics chair
it that isn't good enough for you, then just stop being a bitch
that's literally what it is, they don't seem to sell medical recliners like that to the general populace
>ordered a Steelcase Leap 2 weeks ago
>just got an email yesterday saying orders are backed up so much, they don't have an eta for ship date yet
What's the best "cheap" office chair? I dont want to go spending over 1000 but I'd probably settle for like 500
>Having your headphone cable trail across the floor
If there’s ever a rule to live by, never skimp on things that separate you from the ground.
>tires
>shoes
>mattresses
>chairs
usually shit you’ll use every day for a good portion of it.
and power supplies
I got a Serta AIR from walmart for $110
It's bonded leather which is basically the leather equivalent to wooden pressboard but I fucking love it. It's so comfy
yeah bonded leather, shitsux
only the fat and posture challenged require special needs chairs
