Kojima would DIRECT, not write or design. Junji Ito on monster design, get team silent members in there to write the story and design the gameplay. Kojima is allowed to DIRECT. That'd be fine. I agree entirely that he shouldn't even be allowed in the writing room. Keiichiro Toyama should be executive producer, also, and it should be his next vision of horror, the logical progression from Silent Hill to Forbidden Siren to this new game.

The only reason why Kojima was working on silent hills was because of the almost total control he had on konami at that point. A further game in the series would need people who worked on Team Silent at the time to even be worth it, not that overbloated attention whore whose influence in the quality of MGS 1 is dubious at best.

Kojima always has to put his greasy paws on the writing of everything he directs, so this wouldn't quite work like that. Silent Hill needs subtlety that this man completely lacks.
I think it's better to keep the series dead and buried than to allow Hideo Kojima to fuck it even further into the ground. Plenty of western studios already had their go at it.
