Not, it was, much better received than RE6.
It wasn't great but it was held up by a cool setting, rev 2 was a boring slog though.
story mode was good and raid mode was great
Its not bad. That said you have to go into the mindset of it being a handheld game first and being put out around the same time as FEAR 3 and Operation Racoon City and all those western Silent Hill games.
No. It was great for a 3ds game. Also great ost.
Nah it was pretty good
After having so much fun with raid mode I hoped the raid mode of Rev 2 to be as fun, but for some reason they made the enemies super slow in it so it becomes boring target practice, I have no idea why the zombies are so much slower than in the campaign.
Raid mode was a lot of fun. I just wish they'd stayed on the ship instead of cutting backwards and forwards between different groups of people to keep that sense of claustrophobia going.
It is pretty good besides the part where you play as those 2 idiots.
I played it on xbox and it was fine, didn't really consider it a "handheld" game other than the graphics (which were still fairly competitive at the time). I enjoyed the campaign much more than RE6. I wish that rachel was more of a character instead of a one-off, I liked her.
Yup
The combat is honestly saddening. The guns feel so flat. Also fuck Quint and Keith, especially Quint.
That being said, Jessica trying to seduce Chris and failing horribly was funny as shit and Jill and Chris actually interacting and working together was nice.
Rev2 was better in every way tho. I hope someday they make Rev3.
Interesting, I also say Rev 2 was better and I dont understand the hate, my only issue with it was the episodic release being a fucking slog, but aside that I heavily enjoyed it, specially Barry's sections
>Resident Evil revelations 3
>Gina and Rachel prequel
>Breast infection system: a parasite located inside their breasts poisons their body and the only way of holding it back is lactating and breastfeeding each other
When it came out Rev2 was the best RE since 4 imo
No. It was actually pretty good. Raid Mode was fun too. I didn’t even hate Jackass and Grinder.
With the fact that Alex is getting some love and Capcom is aknowledging her existance once again, I got high hopes for whatever they got planned.
It’s my favorite RE. I’d play it more but the beginning is so slow
I don’t understand the hate for Quint and Keith.
?
>Well now, I am not gonna talk about Alex. In fact, we're not gonna talk about Alex at least. We are gonna keep her out of this.
What did Wesker mean by that?
The best evolution of the RE4 formula.
It was a callback to the slowest pace of the first games. Great game.
Second one is a bit more action oriented and linear. I think it does re4 better than re4 tho.
Yeah I think because of that it sold poorly and Rev3 was postponed probably. I played it after it was done so I didn't have that problem.
I don't know of people who hate Rev2 really, people just seen to forget it exists.
I was so happy to see Alex. They introduced Daniel too, so I wonder if they have a spinoff planned with one of them, or at least a tie-in.
>Game on 3ds
>1 million sales
>Massive success, ported to every other console
>Sequel releases on ps vita
Rev2 was born to die.
Keith I simply hate because he keeps repeating 'this blows' over and over.
Quint is fine until you get to the part where you play as Keith and you have to deal with his slapstick and mind numbing commentary.
it's all right, over stays its welcome a little but the final boss might be my favorite in an RE game
Alex Wesker. The second of only two survivors in Oswald Spencer’s Wesker Project. She was first mention in a note in RE5’s prequel DLC, but made her first physical appearance in Rev2, and is now a playable Mastermind in Resistance.
The boss is actually great and pushes your shit on hard. Also great mechanics and surprise attacks.
In raid you can dab on him easily tho
Honestly that boss was the coolest shit. This game and Dead Aim are the coolest resident evil game settings imo, and have great atmosphere.
The enemy design was also pretty hot, and since I played this game I have a deep sea fetish.
One day I dreamt that a parasite attached itself to my bellybutton and dragged me to the deep sea and it was very peaceful.
campaign
6 > Revelations > Revelations 2 > 4 > 5
raid mode or mercenaries
Revelations 2 > Revelations > 6 > 5 > 4
I didn’t really mind all that much.
Well you said you didn't understand and now you do. You don't have to agree, that's fine.
according to one of the devs they only finished 10% of the game, slapped what they had done together and cut the entire plot.
Fair enough.
It's the definition of regular. Not bad but it needed a lot of improvement
>you have to be extremely specific to dodge
>no atmosphere or scary in the slightest
>enemies are full on bullet sponges
>encourages exploration of the zenobia but is so linear it doesnt matter
>the new characters are just comic relief
>Jill is ugly as sin
>graphics were good on the 3ds but upscaled ho boy they are rough
>6 top tier campaign low tier mercs
>10/10 character design
>dies ten minutes into the game after doing nothing
>gets no plot whatsoever outside of a trailer
youtube.com
>alright people seem to like Revelation what should we do next?
>leave that to me
What are you talking about?
Yeah, I thought they were dumb at first but they actually really grew on me and I liked playing as the explosive expert one during the Mercenaries type mode and getting his Evil Dead one liners.
that's a problematic character design
I didn't like the dodging mechanics in that game, besides that I didn't like the way you had multiple parts of the story playing out with different characters at certain points in the game. I can see why they chose to do it but I can't say I liked it. I didn't like some of the monster designs and thought they were kind of lazily done but considering it was supposed to be for the 3DS I guess it gets a pass from me.
So is wesker alive? Shit keeps seeming to imply he is. We know Alex is in Natalia
other than that one line in umbrella corps is there anything implying he isn't kill
Hot take: Rev1 and 2 were both varying levels of good.
They brought back Alex? Good fucking shit, I was hoping they didn't forget about that plot thread. Shame all the other Wesker children are still dead.
I really liked it. It's not the S-tier action game 4 was, nor had the incredible horror atmosphere of REmake. It's the game that meets the two in the middle. It'd be a personal favorite of mine if they cut the non-Jill parts.
FUCKING THIS. Lifetime RE fan, Rachael is still the sexiest RE girl and thankfully there's a decent enough amount of rule 34 on her, on the downside most of it is grotesque body horror porn. She was built for breeding, why couldn't they have given her an out to be in a different game too or in their mercenaries. Damn waste is what it is.
>why couldn't they have given her an out to be in a different game too or in their mercenaries
she's in rev 2 raid mode and there are mods for other games. the re6 mod gives her the fbc uniform in some stages, pic related.
>Shame all the other Wesker children are still dead.
Two is enough. Any more and it would become oversaturated, like when several of Dio's kids show up in part 6.
Rev2 is extremely underrated and is what TLoU should have been
I like that you posted re4 low but cmon re6 campaign is mediocre at best
>Two is enough. Any more and it would become oversaturated, like when several of Dio's kids show up in part 6.
I could do with three, maybe four. Like yeah, you don't want to oversaturate it but it seems like wasted potential to not have at least one more.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels that way.
>tfw lost my PS3 copy
Was the original a 50 hours jrpg? I can see rehashing but 10% there is too much content for 10%
Playing Rev2 without the upgrade powers is probably the most authentic RE experience past the classics besides maybe REmake 2 on hardcore
Yup. It does feel like a slog sometimes, usually as Barry, and really linear compared to any earlier mainline game, but I still couldn't bring myself not to like it.
I remember sitting on the couch while my non-vidya room mate was watching me play through the first time and I was playing as the little girl and leaving Barry as the AI. I'd just keep upgrading my brick ability and every time we found a brick we'd get psyched and she'd yell BRICK EM. Sorry for the blog, that was just a really nice memory.
>room mate was watching me play
>didn't let him play
Bro...
I think she wanted to, but I don't think there was co-op even though the game needed it desperately.
Are you brain dead? Of course there’s co-op.
