they are a gameplay element that rewards you for speccing into a skilltree all the way by offering a unique set of dialogue at the endgame, i think its completely reasonable as a majority of fallout's story or written characters don't follow extreme realistic interpretations of what an apocalypse would be. however, i respect your opinion in thinking otherwise and if i expected my fallout games to be any more grounded in reality than they already are i too would think they are silly. i believe we may be both interested in the series itself but see it in different ways and thats ok
