It's at the top of Steam's popular upcoming games list, which is more than I could've expected. You think that many people are going to get excited for something as niche as a disaster movie game with clunky controls and PS2 era design?

I tried the demo and it was pretty janky, but I was definitely intrigued. I might pick it up because it's unlike any game I've played before.

If there are better disaster-type narratives, I'd love to get some recommendations.

Definitely check out the first two Disaster Report games. They have a kind of Dead Rising/Saints Row 2 feel to them where the story mostly plays itself straight, but it's up to you to add as much outrageousness as you want in the form of the outfits you wear and dialogue decisions you make throughout. I'm partial to Raw Danger for its relaxing rainy/flooded urban environments but they're both a good time and full of clumsy charm.
