> Sales of Sega Ages games on the Switch had been "frustrating" and are less than half of the Sega 3D Classics Collection on the 3DS Why haven't you brought any of the Sega Ages games on Switch? If you have, which ones did you enjoy? I'm looking to pick some up but can't decide which one to get while on sale:
Virtua Racing Outrun Columns II (nostalgia) Alex Kidd (also nostalgia)
maybe because they keep releasing the same games over and over again? fuck sega, they could at least commission m2 to make a new game
Jackson Torres
>wtf why arent people buying our badly aged games for the 12091208th time
Just make a new game you fucking niggers
Gabriel Price
3D Afterburner II is literally perfect. One of the best gamesof the 80s with a bunch of little bells and whistles AND an entirely bew game with new mechanics using the same assets crammed in there. If they even just ported that version I'd buy it again.
Give me Golden Axe Revenge of Death Adder in terms of new stuff. If newer arcade games count, give me Afterburner Climax and Ollie King.
like an original game? i thought they were a really small company that specialised in ports.
Kayden Murphy
they've made original games before, they're decently sized and have enough and knowlegable enough staff from back then to make an original retro game that people would eat up
This was the mediocre Afterburner-like that was called AB3 when it got ported to console right? I'm sure they could do a better job with it now in AGES form.
Benjamin Miller
they're $5.99 right now. If you buy eShop credit on discount you could probably get it to $5
Jack Diaz
>the same shitty games from the 80s and 90s
Old games are trash. Sega was at their best with the Dreamcast/Gamecube/Xbox. They just killed it in 6th and had some great games in 7th like phantasy star universe, yakuza 4, valkyria chronicles, and sonic unleashed. Now they only release ports of sonic 1 and sonic 2 and other shitty genesis games
Brayden Collins
They released a fucking Megadrive Collection on it and most people aren't going to care about M2's autism vs straight emulated ports. Plus they had official polls that resulted in fans shouting at them that they want Saturn and Dreamcast games (with JSR coming in first) and yet they keep ignoring them.
Cameron Murphy
I bought sonic 1 and 2 I dont care for sega arcade games, arcade games in general do nothing for me and never did
Brandon Lewis
I would agree with that but I think they're sort of damned if they do, damned if they don't when it comes to Sonic. Allegedly in Europe the M2 ports of Sonic performed best. They have to release Sonic to prove that there is demand for the more esoteric stuff like Virtua Racing.
Hudson Diaz
I can only buy sonic 2 so many times. Maybe if they put some dreamcast games on there I'll be interested.
Gabriel Carter
I emulated all the good games back in the late 90s / early 00s. I'm over it.
Nolan King
I wish they'd put M2 on Outrun 2.
Robert Nguyen
What frustrates me, s*ga, is you WON'T RELEASE THESE ON PC WHERE I CAN ACTUALLY BUY THEM
Gavin Morales
How about remastering games from the Saturn and Dreamcast eras? Instead they sell you the SEGA Genesis Collection and SEGA Ages games from the same collection.
Jace Gutierrez
The saturn has zero games worth playing. The star child for it, nights into dreams, was released and it sucks. No one wants anything saturn if thats the best it has to offer. Now a dreamcast collection could be kino
Jaxon Diaz
Because they're not the Taxman/Stealth ports of Sonic 1, 2 and CD. Eat a dick, SEGA, stop cucking us over. Also, pay that bastard Bill Baxer whatever the hell you haven't been paying him since 1994, and get the afformentioned Taxman and Stealth to do a Sonic 3K remaster.
Panzer Dragoon just got a remake, user. Meanwhile the only Dreamcast remakes people are asking for are Sanic shit
John Jackson
Once it sells 6k worldwide well see how eager they are to jump on more literal who saturn shit. On the dreamcast, people like sonic, crazy taxi, jet set radio, phantasy star online, chu chu rocket, blue stinger, house of the dead, toy commander. Even a few space channel 5 fans even if that game sucks
Carson Lopez
It kind of sucks, tho. I'm still going to get and play it once they release it on Steam, but what I really want is the original reworked to run at 60fps and 1080p. Realistically though that'd probably be too much for M2 to handle even if Sega weren't being faggots.
Jacob Ortiz
>Also, pay that bastard Bill Baxer whatever the hell you haven't been paying him since 1994 This. It's ridiculous at this point. The amount of money they would make back would dwarf whatever licensing fee he asks for.
Colton Cruz
drop dash > wide screen that fucks up the bosses
Ryan Ward
>Upload a rom of Sonic 2 instead of the perfect Taxman remake >Charge more than the remake costs >No one buys it I'm fucking shocked
>STILL no drop dash Sonic 3 because they can't be ASSED with music rights
SEGA's a foul word in videogaming these days anyways. Even Yakuza is tarnished what with the creator shitting on Super Monkey Ball.
What good games do they have now? If they just sold off their child friendly hot IP's to Nintendo and keep going on with their mature games and pachinko, it'd at least get people off their back as to the fate of the IP's that helped them along their way.
Daniel Harris
Is Panzer Dragoon remake good?
Dylan Perry
Switch version apparently has a shitload of input lag Maybe the Steam version will be better
Eli Mitchell
OP, please provide sauce of quote or I'm ripping you a new asshole
Brody Morales
Give us the Phantasy Star remakes that were for PS2.
Their only good games this gen has been project diva, pso2, valkyria chronicles 4, and sonic mania. They came so close to reviving super monkey ball but they pick one of the shittiest games instead of the deluxe game that was on xbox/ps2 and remastering that. There seems to be an evil dark force emanating from sega these days
Instead of yakuza and sakura wars they're putting overpriced roms on the switch
Can't wait for the cunts to go bankrupt
Samuel Richardson
they have a very lucrative arcade/casino thing going on in Japan. not going to happen.
Xavier Campbell
I dont have a Nintendo Switch. I'll buy those if they sell them on GOG or DRM-free on Humble Store.
Blake King
Honestly, I feel Banana Blitz HD only really exists so they can test rolling physics for the next 3d Sonic game
Evan Robinson
>Sales of Sega Ages games on the Switch had been "frustrating" Didn't they release on other consoles? How's the sales on those?
David King
It won't.
Jaxon Peterson
>no source Suck my left nut op
Elijah Green
No they fucking didn't, which makes their "frustration" all the more retarded.
Ryan Jackson
>overpriced roms At the very least, Gain Ground, Virtua Racing and G-LOC were native ports. The first two games were ports based on the original source code.
Sega's money comes from yakuza money laundering, pachinko & arcades, with casino being their next foray they won't ever go bankrupt.
Kayden Scott
Not him. They could port them to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Aaron Kelly
>Puyo 1 and Tsu got ported AGAIN >Sun, Box and Yon only got luck with a PSN release on the fucking Vita >Fever, Fever 2, all 3 Anniversary games and 7 haven't released outside of their original consoles Goddammit Sega
Jayden Ward
Don't forget Puyo Tetris
Justin Young
>Fever, Fever 2, all 3 Anniversary games and 7 haven't released outside of their original consoles Maybe Sega has lost the source code.
Aaron Cook
If the fans like it ok. I hate tetris games though. That chemical plant act 2 boss in sonic mania always makes me angry because of how forced it is
Angel Baker
i guess i'm one of the 10 people people buying the sega ages stuff i hope to see sega ages sonic 3&k soon since it didn't make it into that switch genesis collection but if sales are apparently "frustrating" i guess that might never happen
Julian Thomas
>Virtua Racing (Game that is cool to play just to say you've played it but afterwords you wish that you were playing Daytona USA)
>Outrun (Game that everyone has a copy of and has played a billion times by now, switch version isnt even the PS2 remake)
>Columns 2 (Game that only people who couldn't afford Sega Tetris played)
>Alex Kidd (Boring platformer with no redeeming factors other than "sega used to have a hard on for this guy")
I already bought the genesis collection and unless they start porting obscure and actually good arcade titles im not touching Ages
Camden Rodriguez
Git gud
Easton Lewis
I doubt that would help given they're failing in Japan where the switch is currently the most popular platform.
Carson Smith
But PC and PS4 are still relatively popular
Nicholas Myers
Still would get them more money in the West.
Austin Gonzalez
Sure, but if it's failing on the most popular system how much can you really get from consoles without the portability factor?
Cameron Reed
That's the thing user, it's performing above their expectations in the west.
Jaxon Taylor
Just port them as roms like they did with Sun and Yon
