Is this the first good fitness game?
>large range of exercises
>mix of cardio, bodyweight and the ring con which is actually relatively resistant (40 pounds)
>JRPG style combat with attack types, buffs and debuffs
>Crafting potions (smoothies), Skilltrees and different clothes give armor and attack stats
>Jump and Run elements
>Joy-cons literally measure your heart rate
It feels kinda magical
Ring Fit Adventure
why do the protein shakers look like sex toys?
How the fuck are you finding a copy to play?
I want this game desu but I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment and don't want my neighbors to murder me
With my shitty discipline, it's this or nothing.
And it is better than nothing.
I had it for a while, if you are buying new right now good luck
There is a leg movement you can do instead of stomping.
In the beginning, they ask if you want to play on silent mode.
Should I sell my copy? I like it, but $200 is a lot of money.
Nintendo will print more after this is over, right?
Yea, be nice to whoever you are selling it to and wash the grips and leg strap and go over the ring con with a wipe tho
Ring Fit is selling ridiculously well so it would be crazy if they didn't continue making this once production gets going again. It sold 2.17 million by the end of 2019 apparently, it just seems like they can't meet demand right now as people scramble for anything in home training.
You literally can't get any half decent dumbbells on amazon either right now.
I did it for like twenty minutes the other day and thought I was going to die. I've had spurts of fitness before mainly using an eliptical bike and free weights, and managed to get to doing an hour in the bike every day consistently, byt this knocked me on my ass way worse.
since I can't go swimming right now this is my go to cardio atm
It's pretty damn good, but it still has a couple pretty annoying issues for somebody who likes to work out:
* Exercises that are really good, fundamental exercises become almost useless as the game goes on, like Squat and front-press. You do get some other exercises like wide squat to make up for it a little bit, but sometimes I'd like to work the squat into my regular workout outside of things like the game gym and running through stages without doing basically nothing to enemies. The game should allow you to buff your existing exercises rather than just getting newer stronger ones.
* The new rhythm game is great, but it should also be accessible inside of adventure mode so that I can do a warm-up before doing 30 minutes of the rhythm game and then a cool-down afterward. It would be good to also be able to be rewarded for the rhythm game with experience.
* The uneven workout problem is often really annoying. If I do an alternating workout (ie. left side and then right) and kill an enemy partway through, the game should enforce getting the other side worked out the same amount, by either letting you finish on a different enemy or even just seeing the exercise through for its own sake. Maybe keeping track of how many you've done on each side and auto-balancing out the next time you use that same exercise or something. I avoid alternating exercises when I know it's going to be uneven, but the game should handle this automatically.
It's a good game. Honestly, it's a really great exercise game and I really love it, but it needs a proper sequel to iron out these problems.
I could make better gains using women weights and my moms old vhs tapes, this shit is a scam and so is arms, the only good fitness games are on VR
Because those are supposed to be foldable
I wouldn't know because IT'S NOT FUCKING AVAILABLE ANYWHERE
Barbell Cage Adventure gamified GOMAD training
You get advanced variants of the same exercise as you progress, but you might get to a point where for a few days basic squats are going to be useless
It's absolutely legit. It's a decent workout and a good motivator to be healthier. I changed my diet a lot since I started playing this in January. I've lost 25 lbs.
>and so is arms
Schizo.
Wow, a whole 2 dollars she can finally afford that bag of rice.
Wish I could find a copy
But not from scalper jews.
how can a fitness game have so much soul
>shilling a 60$ "game"
>literally just bodyweight exercises
I hope they add new tracks to they rhythm game eventually, I forgot how mediocre the music was in BotW
As you continue doing it you will find your body getting fit enough to not die anymore, and enjoy it.
Ring Fit is a great barometer for telling if you're actually in shape or not.
I do it for free user
>fundamental exercises become almost useless as the game goes on
I remember when I first started I used to think "man I wish I could do squats but there are 3 enemies so I have to do another set to attack all 3", but as the game went on I realized that maxing my damage efficiency was actually harming the workout routine. So I did exercises I wanted to instead and I was enjoying the fights a lot more afterwards.
> it should also be accessible inside of adventure mode so that I can do a warm-up
You can create a custom routine with rhythm games and it will do a warm up. When you start adventure mose after you can skip the warmup there.
>The uneven workout problem is often really annoying.
lucky you, they just added an option to fix that. Go into my menu and look for "finish 2 sided exercises" or something. you also have the option to finish normal sets too.
wtf are you me?
>he cares about his weight
lol
I'll have to keep at it. I haven't gotten extraordinarily far in the game (I'm level 60 or something), but I don't just use the game to exercise. By "advanced variants" do you mean different exercises, or is it a more powerful execution of the same exercises? Sometimes I want to do a good set of ordinary squats but don't because the damage will be effectively squat, if you'll excuse the pun.
Great pointers, man. I'll keep those in mind. I haven't touched on most of the stuff outside of the adventure mode, and wasn't aware the custom routine did a warm-up. Thanks for the heads up on all that.
"finish 2-sided exercises" should probably be on by default, but the fact that they added it is great.
Nintendo is pretty shitty sometimes, but they've been doing a great job with post-release support lately. If it weren't for the paid online bullshit, I'd probably be a full-in Nintendofag these days.
Your weight is an extremely strong predictor for quality of life and life expectancy. You should care about your weight if you're overweight. If you don't care now, you'll definitely care when it's fucking up your ability to maneuver on your own and live without pain in your 60s.
Yeah the last update was really good, I'm hoping they will do more content in the future
>by "advanced variants" do you mean different exercises, or is it a more powerful execution of the same exercises?
obviously there is stuff like wide squats, but there every exercise eventually gets level 2-4 upgrades, so you will have squat lvl 4 doing much more damage than the base movement
bamp
>Go into my menu and look for "finish 2 sided exercises" or something. you also have the option to finish normal sets too.
Oh thank fuck, thanks for pointing this out user, actually thats one of the reason I stopped playing as it annoyed me a bunch
You enjoy living in constant discomfort? I sure didn't.
Plus you die early, lardass sugar/carb addict. You greasy landwhales cost the USA billions annually. Plus obese faggots are high risk on Covid. Even more of a drain. I hope they start taking fatties off of ventilators first.
Can i buy the accessories separately?
I bought a Chinese knockoff version of the accessories, I have a hacked Switch so I can just pirate the game itself. The ring should be delivered tomorrow so hopefully it works!
>I have a hacked Switch so I can just pirate the game itself
That's why i was asking if i t sold separately
I think I'm level 76 and I've unlocked the 2nd tier versions of the original Front Press, Squat, and Thigh Press. I think at level 65 your skill tree will expand and you'll see more of the tier two versions of older exercises to work towards.
No that would be Wii Sports Boxing
honestly how long can you guys go for when exercising? I can go for like 20 mins or so when doing nothing but yoga...but if I switch over to any of the other exercises I can only last for like 10 in game minutes?
does boosting the level cap help build stamina really?
Just keep at it user, focus aerobic exercises for stamina, dont increase difficulty or else you are just going to get punished with more reps
boosting the level only adds more reps as far as I know, so yes it would help stamina.
It might also make jogging/knee lifts harder but I really can't tell.
but yeah keep at it, 10 minutes is still better than nothing
>plenty of ab exercises
>squats
>only chest exercise is pushing the ring in
I bought it a few weeks after it came out.
That new fitness rhythm game mode is really good. There’s at least 4 different levels of difficulty.
What the fuck americans? It's 69euro here and full warehouses.
link?
I agree with this a lot, along with
Also, what's everyone's difficulty at? I'm at 28 right now.
How the fuck is she only going that low and having it register? I have to put my ass really damn low or it doens't register
inverted joycons huh
difficulty setting maybe
also her knees are going way past her toes which is easier
Are you forced to do squats in Ring Fit's "story mode" or whatever? It's all very intriguing but I don't want to do the exercises that will give me female proportions.
It's telling her to do lower so she's doing the bare minimum
Hmm, maybe so. That is a really low difficulty setting.
>feel like dying having to do 35 wide squats in one set and knowing it won't even kill anything
you will not gain tits from doing squats
just do it you baby
No. You can choose to just do the exercises, but the main game is decently engaging.
IT WILL KILL YOUR CALORIES
It's still giving her the "good" rating for the movement. Speaking of which, planks are a good example of an exercise where I have to move the thigh joycon lower to get it to work, so it's very possible my squat issues stem from having the joycon too high on my leg.
I'm talking ass and child-bearing thighs, my dude.
good bait
raise your ass higher with planks
go lower with squats
it will get easier with time
Link? Are you able to understand other language than english?
I'm out of the loop. Is this being really well received? I liked playing Fitness Boxing so maybe I'll pick this up.
personally it has changed my life for the better, but yeah it seems popular.
Yeah you're not gonna get bigger leg/ass from bodyweight squats. Find a better excuse.
You've lost weight or what?
didn‘t it outsell a lot of big titles in japan?
The issue I have with squats is that it won't start when I am in the correct position. It sees the controller as being tilted I guess instead of straight because it's sitting on my thigh. If I move it down and do the same position it's fine. And my squats are definitely low enough.
I can go for an hour of hard cardio, but I've been exercising for fun at least semi-regularly for years. You need to build up to it. Don't feel bad about where you are, just get a little better at a time.
Core exercises are the most important anyway.
20+ pounds since January or so yeah
but I play daily
hm well if you think you're low enough to start then yeah I dunno. I'm not sure exactly where it is on your leg but you could try wearing it even higher I suppose
It also has the higher-speed blue reps, which aren't there below a certain difficulty level.
26 or 27. I was at 28 before but dropped it because I wanted to play longer rather than harder for a while, and found that I'm just enjoying it more.
It still charts in Japan every week.
Nice congrats.
I didn't even know those existed
Her camera is overhead. She's going lower than it looks like she is.
Her form is also bad. She's bowing her knees outward.
I can't do this exercise for shit, whats the trick bros
