If Part 3 ever comes out it will have Nu-Sephiroth as a permanent party member.

Sephiroth has knowledge of the future somehow and is trying to change fate, but whenever he does something that didn’t happen in the original game spooky time ghosts appear to undo or reverse his actions. They do so in completely retarded ways, like Sephiroth killing Barret only for him to be immediately resurrected by a ghost, or Hojo about to tell Cloud about SOLDIER and his past before he did in the original game so the ghosts teleport him away somewhere never to be seen again. The time ghosts are the new final boss and after beating them things are so radically different from the original that the story has gone in a completely different direction than the original.

It sounds fucking ridiculous yet when you actually see it unfolding in game it becomes even more ridiculous somehow.
