do monsters still hurt each other with their attacks after the initial turf war encounter? They keep attacking each other but I don't see numbers for it like with the big first attack.

Clutch Claw aside IB is far better than vanilla World, if you like that you should like IB, as for the "double the time to kill monsters" that only applies at the start because you don't get better gear until later, at endgame fights should go back to the 5-15 min range

Iceborne adds an entire new tier of progression called Master Rank which is at least as much content as High or Low Rank in addition to an all new end-game and a handful of monsters that are more challenging than anything in base World. In addition to adding back basically every fan favourite monster, like Brachydios, Rajang, Nargacuga. Every weapon also gets a small handful of new moves centered around using it in conjunction with the slinger or the new clutch claw. The Hammer for example can fire their slinger like a shotgun during a charge to attempt for a flinch, or can fire their clutch claw onto a monster following a tier 2/3 charge. In addition to getting you an opportunity to perform a clutch claw attack while grappled to the monster, you can angle the clutch claw to pivot around to a different body part. The Hunting Horn gets a really cool move where they spin their Horn upright, which deals 5/6 ticks of damage and single-handedly makes elemental HH viable.

Its more than just DLC user. Its an oldschool style "Expansion" that adds basically just as much content that the base game had.

I miss when games had several expansions, before a sequel.

Focus does barely anything on hammer anyways, so you can basically ignore it.

Locking shit behind grinding lands was a mistake. Theres got to be some better way of upgrading and customizing weapons thats also interesting, satisfying and fun.

By the time you get to the grinding lands you should already have pretty much any non-metalrath/scarruga/zinegro weapon fully upgraded, and augmenting shit is just minmaxing that is never, ever relevant outside of making everything more and more trivial for the sake of it.

Upgrading Safi shit is just much deserved suffering for all the minmaxing metafaggots out there, if you want to suffer through it it's entirely on you.
