Geniuses that made this game all left Arenanet started their own studio and are working on a fucking mobile game, what a waste of talent.
ManaWorks hasn't even announced a game yet retard stop spreading false news.
Yup...
Yea dude a tiny studio will make a AAA MMO like the good old days, no you fuck off retard they'll go where the money is because that's how businesses work.
Yes the video on their website shows so many mobile games theyre trying to emulate. I'm not saying they'll make a triple A MMO, Guild Wars 1 wasn't, but it's happened before so it could happen again, ergo my assumption is far more probable than yours.
Mike O'brien gave me a lift home i think i know him a little better than you do faggot.
They recently made Drakkar from GW1 a world boss in GW2, and he looks really bad compared to what we saw under the ice
you vs the guy she tells you not to worry about tier?
not that guy
while you're probably right that they're making a mobile game, remember that that IS how Arenanet started, small team working out of Mike's living room.
what we saw in GW1 was pretty much a glorified silhouette
you are saying the GW2 version doesn't match the silhouette, not that it looks bad compared to GW1
I know I'm not blaming them it just sucks that they have to start over again as such veterans of the industry. They'll probably get fucked over by their publishers yet again even though it's waaaaaay easier and profitable nowadays to self publish your games, word of mouth goes a long ways.
it does suck but I hope they do well and I'm interested to learn what they end up making.
Is the combat typical button mashing shit like todays MMOs?
Hnnnng
not at all, feels a lot more slow paced and somewhat like a strategy game at times
Sort of but since you only have a total of 8 skills available at any one time you usually don't mash braindead since you will mistime skills pretty easy that way, and there's a lot of skill synergy in the sense that if you use skills out of order they'll do jack shit, assassin skills especially they'll completely whiff unless you use them in the right order and hit with them
The PvP scene in this game was unreal. The PvE stuff was just window dressing next to it. It was massively skill based and interesting. God I miss it
No it wasn't and everyone that claims it was is a fucking retard blinded by their own ignorance. It was meta shit through and through you either played a gimmick build or you played a counter gimmick build. If you played anything else you got slammed into the fucking floor and run over.
Oh shut the hell up retard. Maybe in HoH, but in GvG it was fucking great. Plus, you probably didn't play early on when the Koreans were still at it. There were tons and tons of crazy builds. Then the Koreans all left and IWAY happened.
This.
GW1 pvp being the best thing ever is one of the biggest fucking memes on this board.
Ok retard
There were always losers who whined about the meta to help them cope with their constant losses. It's not new.
*dshots your bad posts*
I've masturbated to that cover a lot as a teen
>If I keep pretending thing didn't happen eventually people will believe me!
Played the game for 10 years, you can bullshit until you're blue in the face but so long as I am around when you make your dumbass claim there will be someone to tell you that you're wrong.
a-are the servers still online?
Look. If you play any game for 10 years, it's not going to be fun. But the fact that you played the game for 10. fucking. years. Says something. I know you weren't doing PvE for 10 years...
Yes
Sure hope nothing bad ever happens to that idyllic wonderful kingdom we call home.
I didn't say anything about it not being fun. I didn't say I exclusively played PvE.
I said PvP was gimmick vs. counter gimmick, which it was, and anyone that legitimately played the game for any relevant amount of time will attest to that fact so put your goalposts back where they belong and quit trying to bullshit people that played the game. You don't need to lie to get people to praise Guild Wars, it stands on it's own merits.
cant into this game, really loving gw2 though
You disgust me.
indeed...tho i left pre with my monk
No, you can reskill your character anytime. Gear also doesn't really matter as you get max stuff right after the lengthy tutorial. You outfit your character with skills and roll with the build. After that you find a group and play pve or pvp. Solo is also an option with NPC.
As someone else already pointed out it's more like a strategy game and less like an action game.
Nice. I'll look into the game
>you can reskill your character anytime
but only in town, also some your skills is tied to weapon like in 2nd game and you kinda must to choose 2nd spec but their are limited to your campaign and overall you rely more on your npc team than yourself
t. PvX kiddie
First few years the amounts of builds people have come up with were fucking insane, you could see Paragons in top GvG matches ffs.
looks pretty twitchy, fast paced, mashy to me. Haven't played the game so can't tell whats going on here
>W/A
>bar full of assassin and pve skills
>not a single warrior skill
>runs out of energy in under three seconds
Man what the fuck
if this is legit you and you have both survivor and legendary defender of ascalon you are a very patient man
they changed how LDOA worked years ago, now there's daily quests, so you don't have to death level
For me,
it was [sup]
yeah but pre-searing is still quite dangerous for the first 10 levels right?
I read that in GW1 I can run around with an army of undead summons. How true is it and is as shit as the minion master in GW2?
iirc the most minions you can have is 10 per necro
i don't think it's extremely effective as a build though but i may be wrong
There was a time when you could have unlimited amount of minions, you only needed corpses to raise them. Now it's up to 15 minions with max Death Magic attribute.
Very useful for end game/Hard Mode
>not the necro
>not the mesmer
You do have a max number of minions. I wouldn't call it an army but maybe a large squad.
All of your minions are on a timer IIRC but if you're doing a PVE area you wont run out of corpses so you can have max minions constantly. There is a good variety of minions you can spawn in.
There were some extremely fun minion master builds for pvp(fort aspenwood atleast), you could be a tank and minions would kill your enemies before they killed you. You could have a suicide squad full of weaker minions, who dealt little damage alive but when they died they damaged and poisoned enemies around them. (Combine that with other on death effects such as that one ranger spirit and you could have a sketchy but extremely fun gimmick build)
mistress Eve would be mad if you masturbated to her though
Oh yeah, also forgot about second profession which can be a game changer for certain builds
Battles can be fast paced but you always have the strategic aspect to it
It's the same MMORPG combat. Difference is the class and skill system. You get to pick 8 skills from your two classes to put on your bar and there's an almost endless variety of builds you can field, from the all-rounders to the ones that do extremely specialized tasks like just managing minions, just rezzing or just running away from enemies.
It doesn't matter, they changed how survivor works now too.You only need 140k experience without dying to get the title now.It doesn't need to be since your characters creation anymore. There are even afk legendary survivor builds for a Nightfall mission.

I'm playing gw2 for the first time why doesn't it feel like fun? I thought these games were supposed to be good MMOs
GW1 is a game that you can probably play through entirely by clicking and you won't really be gimping yourself that much by not using keybinds
that should tell you something about the gameplay
your character even auto-follows your target if you need to be in melee, or starts to automatically run in range for spells
gw2 is nothing like gw1. even the plot is just barely related since it happens centuries after gw1.
gw2 is fun when you get mounts and explore the zone
the only mmo where you can actually find worthwhile stuff in actually vertical non-flat maps
I don't know who designed the combat tho, its crap.
this, based
this one as well
>why doesn't it feel like fun?
Gee I dunno user, why?
