That's the main reason why people think the ARMS fighter is gonna be someone that promotes the sequel that is supposedly coming out. Why withhold the information if it's gonna be obvious anyway? The only way they fool anyone is if it's someone that ISN'T in the ARMS cast.

The problem with that is who the hell is gonna buy? There's no way they release a sequel for a multiplayer game on the same system without consequences. People will be pissed. First rule of games is you dont piss off your community if your game is niche

To add to this because the inevitable "well just make it dlc instead of a sequel" argument will come up, you solve the issue of splitting the playerbase with making it dlc but you dont solve the issue of angry early adopters not wanting to pay more for a game they already feel is overpriced. Its also probably dumb as fuck to release DLC for a nearly 3 year old game that the public has already made up its mind about. It won't sell.

How do people look at this and think, yeah, this guy looks cool. He's honestly one of the worst looking characters in a game that already has a terrible art direction, even whoever this is looks better. Say what you will about FE, it is over repped, byleth did go over as well as a wet fart, at least the characters aren't fucking offensive to look at.

it's okay user, a lot of people have vision problems.
In all seriousness, he;s has a fine design, It gets across his up-and-coming and spunky personality with the gym shirt and shorts, and the whole spring motif ties into the game perfectly, which it needs to because he's the mascot. He also has an expressive face, and a good, stand-out color palette, that also tie into his signature ARMS, which is also perfect because he's the training wheels character for most.
He's not the best looking character on the roster, but he has a solid design.

His design is okay, but I'd prefer literally any other ARMS character over him

His gimmick is literally the same as max though. They both have a deflect and both power up under 25% health. Also again, you haven't explained what's wrong with the design

He's literally an AT. There's no reason for them to come up with some complex system to prevent him from spawning when he's being played when they can just make it Ribbon Girl.

Nothing in programming is ever as easy or simple as you think it is. Functionality to prevent an AT from spawning based on which characters are present doesn't currently exist in the game and could quite possibly be difficult to implement.

They already have this shit set up with Knuckles in Green Hill Zone, Alucard in the Wii Fit stage and the FIGHTER Toon Link in the Spirit Tracks stage.

I'm aware. Those are background animations, not Assist Trophies. It's very possible that none of that code would be reusable because it's dealing with an entirely different game entity. We just don't know, and if we don't know, I'm never inclined to think a new feature is "simple". They could do it, obviously, but I question why they would put in the effort when ARMS has another mascot character they can use.
