That's kind of the one thing about Morrowind that ticks me off. By default certain armor sets are totally unviable.
For example, I like the roguish look of the leather armor in the game and made a character who wears it, but technically even though my light armor skill is 100, I'd be better off fighting naked, because apparently even the base lvl 100 unarmored skill offers more protection to you then lvl 100 leather armor.

Dunmer had nothing to do with the heart being in Morrowind if there is anyone to blame it's the Dwemer which the Dunmer went to war with for that very reason.

In typically Elder Scrolls fashion, there are multiple interpretations. Some say that the Heart of Lorkhan was always just there, but the Nords’ account of Red Mountain claim they were tricked by Dagoth and that the Dunmer wizards trapped Shor and his heart in the mountain.
