It's good but it has a certain sloppyness to it as well as an incredible lack of both ambiance and detail. Most of the work it seems has been put on size and scale, in more than one way if you catch my drift.

I actually completely support and encourage this, because it means they prioritize gameplay convenience over narrative.
I DO want to be able to fst travel and get mats, level up, and do side quests as much as i want, i DON'T want the narrative to trap me out of content longer than necessary.
This is up to personal taste, but to be gameplay should always take priority, even in JRPGs.

I think Xeno games are kind of a mess, and each game shuffles in new poorly designed systems instead of ever fixing or polishing the old ones which is frustrating. There's a lot of potential if everything manages to come together for one of their games though.

In case you've got actual autism, I'm talking about the locations being huge, the amounts of crafting shit to collect, big anime tits and so on. Another thing that bugs me are how the names in the game are just ridiculous. Like Pekka. Or Lopi. Tulea. Coof. Cunt. What the fuck.

Yeah this game will forever mystify me. I can usually partially understand why people may like any given game. I don't like Persona past 2. Try as I might, I can't get into the social and school sim stuff. So while it's weird to me that a game like Persona 5 is so popular, I can at least kinda see why people who are into that stuff like it. But Xenoblade 2? I will go to my grave not understanding it. I've tried so hard to get into it. I played to chapter 4, gave up, came back a year later, started over, actually hot the hang of the battle system this time, had fun during chapter 4 because of that, started getting bored again in chapter 5, and absolutely could not go on a little ways into chapter 6. The characters are generally boring, the writing is absolutely atrocious, the menus are terrible, the gacha is complete bullshit, the skill checks are dumb, the side quests aren't much better than they were in the first Xenoblade, and the way the game actually seeks to waste your time is terrible. Sure, the environs are nice, the music is good, though not nearly as memorable as XB1's music, and the waifus are fun to look at for the most part, but that doesn't make up for everything else to me.

Aside from the costumes, it's important because it's also where you get Shulk, and the other cameos (all very strong Blades, too)
