This take on Mario was very unique. Informed only by Mario games up to World, they turned him into a fish out of water “videogame character trying to communicate” through jumps and imitating others. They would turn it into the italian-ish gibberish from the Mario & Luigi games and lose all of its charm.
Then they would dumb down RPG elements even more. Fill it with tutorials. Change the clay-like and sometimes dark atmosphere into something much more colorful and inert.
I don’t even want to imagine what they would do to the music.

Actually, links Awakening remake is a good proof of concept when it comes to art style. Mario RPG already had all the graphics looking kinda toyish, so if they used a similar approach graphically it'd probably be pretty alright.

Holy shit, i haven't played super mario rpg since i was 10 and i loved it so much. I'd like them to remake the game. geno was kinda cool. He was like THE original Mario OC before all the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi OCs came in. It would be cool to see him again after so many years. And if they do remake Mario RPG, they should put all the cool stuff from Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi into this game since this is the first Mario RPG game ever
