Thanks for reminding me I need to make that Dreamcast Berserk game Undub, was going to do it way back but my 780 Ti went up in flames and I couldn't emulate it with just integrated graphics from my i7 so I couldn't test shit.

I only started reading Berserk in the past couple of years

Golden Age had me hooked, absolutely loved it
Afterwards, I was still very invested, particularly in Casca's trauma and the quest to heal her. The way she reverted to the behavior and cognizance of a small child was equally amusing and tragic. It felt like a very on-brand way of making the series a little bit lighter in tone without losing the established atmosphere.

Then the cast began to grow, and even more lighthearted, comic-relief characters appeared, who seemingly have nothing to do with Guts' quest, and are just along for the ride. Puck and Ishidoro being the big offenders, and characters I wanted removed from the manga as soon as they were introduced.

And now that I'm caught up, the excessive breaks between chapters (8 months since the last one) are wearing me down. I'm not only starting to forget what's even happening in the story, but I'm also progressively caring less and less about continuing with it.
Sure was a kick in the dick for Casca to get her memories back, then smash cut to two whole chapters of Griffith killing giants for some reason.

I loved the 2016 version. Indra has always been my favorite, but something about the beginning to the new version just does it for me. It's almost what I would consider perfect.

I'm fine with Griffith's english VA but yeah the rest don't really fit. However I also think a lot of the jp seiyuu were miscast as well, Nobutoshi Canna was never who I would've picked to play Guts.

Because Fate at the end of the day is still a chuuni as fuck franchise and if anything has doubled down on the chuuni factor which means basically only otaku and waifufags will ever be drawn to it, it's just that a mobile game has the ability to reach out to more of them. JoJo has mass appeal for normalfags but at the same time normalfags won't read manga so the anime gave them an easy way in.
