shitty graphics
Oil has minimal use and constantly overfilling production
damn right i can't
never on sale
what did I win?
It's no minecraft
>changed the colors of everything one update before release
Thank god.
Theres a bunch of random shit I could pick out that are flaws but I'd had to replay the game
It stops being comfy when you get to green or purple science.
The blueprint library
everything falls apart after red science
bp isn't bad but being able to export/import is
>the shitty candy colors update
>no colorblind mode still
>boring tacked on combat
>a biome system with only two actual biomes, grass and no grass
>new campaign canned, old one sucks
>shitty glitchy unoptimized fluid system
>game is basically glorified cookie clicker when you get down to it
mods carry this game harder than skyrim
>>game is basically glorified cookie clicker when you get down to it
I keep seeing this argument but I just can't make the connection.
By this logic you can boil down every game to CC, for example Diablo 3 or any MMORPG.
sorry you haven't played any actual games
>game is basically glorified cookie clicker when you get down to it
Totally this. Not that it's a bad thing. But it really does give you that late game cookie clicker feel.
oh I see now, you are just memeing without any argument just like every other poster I asked before
case closed
Gets boring after you launch your first rocket.
you can build only in a 2d space
there is none even the developer is very based is this some Czech thing?
>>the shitty candy colors update
what are you guys talking about, i need to see images
On default map gen I always get an oil bottleneck because of all the plastic required for cards
I played this thing 10 hours a day for weeks.
But yeah once I lauched the first rocket, I closed the game and haven't reopened it since.
Oh yeah that reminds me of a HUGE fucking flaw. The retarded save system that mixes games and worlds without separation, doesn't have a timestamp, and is in fucking ALPHABETICAL order. Alphabetical order. What fucking save system is in alphabetical order instead of chronological. What is the purpose behind all these things that make this the most retarded save file list I've ever seen in a game, or program for that matter.
>he doesn't use X.00Y save names for every single game
Zero replayability. Once you win once you will follow the same exact process every single time with NO variation.
unironically better
The alien insect monsters are a legitimate afterthought. They add something meaningful to the game in the way that expansion needs more meaningful planning and thought and having to secure your borders makes it more comfy but you can pretty much half ass defense for your entire playtrough.
Regardless of whether the devs want it to be so lax or not, it's really bad.
>having multiple saves per world
I didnt think it was possible but they have somehow managed to make an entire devblog about how new=souless and old=soul
shit enemies shit progression no fun end goal other than a resource sink. Bugs instead of fucking anything else
Never on sale. Still in early access.
>tweaks color saturation and updates graphics
>makes a tool to help modders do the same
Pretty based not gonna lie, what other dev caters to modders this hard?
autism is a system requirement
as I said, the game is basically just a modding platform

Man I played this game like 8 hours a day for a week straight, skipped a day, and never opened it again. Engaging, fun to be forced to think about logistics and all, but I've already had my fill
The factory and woodlands look pretty goofy, but the brighter desert makes sense and the desaturated nighttime definitely looks better
I could take it or leave it
I liked the railway engineering. Was warned not to do single railways but I did it anyway. Multiple times. Took hours to make it into something that worked but I had finally done it.
use speed modules and beacons with speed modules on pumpjacks.
Gets old after about 800 hours. Waiting for new mods.
>start new game
>Base being attacked hard af
>Scrape my way from death several times
>build artillery
>Instarekts all spawners, worms and biters further than any of the pollution
>No sense of urgency or attacks anymore
>Never play again
It was fun, but I just can't care enough anymore.
Game is great but it's one of those games where you ask yourself why you not just learn programming or mathematics instead of game mechanics.
But the game has been cheaper?
It's the closest thing to gaming perfection today.
However I've never launch a rocket.
And it's hard for me to pick it up again and put more than 5 hours into it.
First time I played though the hours did fly by.
I'm just not very smart though. The strategy of "well just make MORE" got convoluted and messy after a while
it's great, the game really starts after launching your first rocket, which was probably achieved through cheap hack job
discovering your own solutions to fully automate production and expansion, building tools for overseeing and constantly improving them, shifting technological solutions and totally redesigning the factory etc..
Whats the ultimate point of the game? you just build more and more shit but for what fucking purpose.
Guys help me. I played this the first time last year and loved it very much. I want to try again from scratch without making the same mistake i did the first time around in that everything ended up so scrunched together by the end that i had to build a whole bunch of shit on top of each other. Is there any simple tips on how to spread out everything more effectively from the beginning?
The game focuses too much on efficiency autism instead of surviving the dangerous critters. You always just wall yourself off and you're safe for good. The game is still fun but I always wanted the feeling of being trapped in a hostile planet where both the environment and the inhabitants pose an increasingly more difficult threat rather than the background noise that it currently is.
I always give up after building walls and turrets, just don't feel like going further.
Sort of like dynasty warriors but if you have no time limit and the troops don't move, it's sort of.... boring.
Pretty much this
I just spaghetti my way into total chaos until I feel I cant be arsed to start producting the more autistic science.
Game's a StarCraft ripoff
watch a video or two about main buses and try that out to start. requires a decent amount of planning but once it's set up you can pretty easily build and expand around it
Has been wrong for a long time now, get with the times gramps
The point is incredibly simple. At its core it's a logistics and automation puzzle game but it is open ended and has no restrictions on how you solve your problems.
>You always just wall yourself off and you're safe for good
You launch a rocket via any of your autistic abilities.
The better your autistic abilities the more impressive a factory it is.
Otherwise, you'll accept you're too much a brainlet to launch a rocket or you'll just cheat and use other people's blueprints
It's a puzzle game with heavy autism
Sir I do not know what brand of bait you have brought to this thread but I implore you to return it for a refund
endless walls of turrets never failed me yet
>linus is actually one of the guys from tonstartssbandht
Once I figure out a solution to any particular problem, it takes too long and too much work to actually implement it and thus I quit the game.
It becomes routine and deconstruction/construction robotics don't help this particular problem since you still have to manually make the blueprint.
>smart enough to beat campaign multiple times
>too stupid for angelsbobs
mid-iq life is rough factoriobros
>walls of turrets
Oh that's right. I thought you meant that stone walls were enough
30 rails for logistic pack. Fuck this shit.
How does someone make a good 3D factorio
Being able to send minecarts down without following them would be a start
pretty sure someone already attempted this and failed spectacularly. You'd need to cut back a lot of the content that the game has to fit it into a 3d game and if you dumb it down then what's the point
Satisfactory
Because unless you play with an overhead view, running around in 3D is honestly a slog
This guy has never had a corrupted save file I see
very minimalist graphics, jetpack for air control, extendo arms to use objects from far away, doom 2016/eternal style 3d rotatable map
How to oil? T. Retard
just recite to yourself that you have tons of space, use it dammit
also don't be afraid of duplicating stuff in several places. your needs will grow over time, so having an extra smelter line here and there will help you.
No story or character development worth mentioning.
It is a game about automating work, that requires me to be the only one always working.
It is unrewarding work, as completion of every task just results in more tasks and more work.
In essence this is digital convoluted "roll boulder up hill".
There is a reason the adderal generation loves this shit.
Enemies will forever simply throw themselves at your defenses making them trvial as soon as you build a wall.
You have to manually calculate the input/output rates of your production machines, which makes maximizing efficiency a pain.
Evenly splitting/merging/balancing belts turns into a huge spaghetti mess, so everyone has to resort to looking up blueprints. Basic operations like moving items from one side of a belt to the other take way more effort than they should.
>It is a game about automating work, that requires me to be the only one always working.
>It is unrewarding work, as completion of every task just results in more tasks and more work.
So it's like real life job?
Doesn't happen often enough to be worth the extra effort. Game saves aren't important enough to keep multiple backups for.
