You can do it user!
A couple of tips to improve fast is to not look at all the bullets, rather the spaces the bullets create and move between them and bomb...a lot. Learning to stream/misdirect bullets is also vital for survival.
What game are you playing btw?
Touhou games are not intended for normal people.
Bro It’s just like Darksouls
>What game are you playing btw?
Touhou 6 to 12.
I think 7th is the easiest one.
Play the 98 games too they're good
Which PC-98 emulator you would recommend the most?
Dark souls has good ost and cute girls? I don't think so.
>easy mode
Stick to it
After clearing a game others will feel easier
>I think 7th is the easiest one.
You think correctly! Stick with that one and don't play other touhou games.
You'll be done with it in no time if you focus on it.
Just be careful of the pink bitch's final final survival spellcard and you'll be fine.
Fuck Yuyuko, seriously.
Not OP but this caught me off guard too and PCB was the first one for me to beat on Normal. Does she still do that thing on Easy?
You‘ll ne surprised how fast you improve. As a fellow recent beginner, here are my tips:
#1: Pick one game and stick to it. I recommend IN, MoF or HSiFS. Learning the patterns and enemy spawns is a huge part of playing, and you’ll never do that if you’re bouncing around.
#2: Only move if you can see you are going to be hit. Many of your deaths are coming from randomly flying into bullets that would not have hit you.
#3: When you do have to move, move aggressively towards gaps in the pattern. Don’t wait to be pushed all the way back against the bottom
#4: If you think you are about to be hit, bomb. It is better to be over-aggressive. Nothing feels worse than dying with bombs left.
#5: Watch replays of 1CCs on your chosen difficulty. This is a great way to pick up strategies like streaming & to learn to think more critically about the game in general.
I remember using T98-Next but you might want something else
What's the best way to experience the Touhou games?
Controller or Keyboard?
Is danmaku on a stick possible? As for these games, the way it's probably meant to be played is on keyboard just because there are sequences that require precision that's hard to get on a controller.
I wish I knew user. I never touched Easy in my life but if I had to guess, I'd say she does do it.
Careful not to get consumed by her, user.
For me it's a controller. It just FEELS good and also ZUN plays with one.
Why the fuck Is Marisa/Alice so fucking ass in IN? I can 1CC with everything but Magic team.
>I remember using T98-Next but you might want something else
Then which emulators should I use?
???
You can reach max faster with them
Marisa is super fast, you just can't handle the kirisame style
>there are sequences that require precision that's hard to get on a controller.
That's nonsense. You can play well with any input device.
This is played with controller.
youtu.be
How can I give money to ZUN and legally buy the games aside from getting the CDs off of Amazon?
Just buy Touhou 13 to 17 on Steam.
Any input device you say? I challenge you to use this then!
>Gwyn's theme
>that bitch from DS2
Why are there two Touhou threads? Contain yourself niggers
we're hijacking the board
Bullshit. Youmu has the same sugoi speedu and I do just fine with her.
Marisa's ok but Alice is straight up dead weight, it's terrible. They have to fight Reimu too.
Can't have a worse d-pad than an XBox 360.
Whatever the most current one is, idk. t98-next worked for me but that was over 5 years ago, it's probably still good but might be worth a google to see other options spoonfeed-kun
OP, by trying and not giving up you are already better than most casuals posting on this board. Keep it up.
>You can reach max faster with them
You mean max power? Imo since you can POC with ohter shots just by focusing, the Magic team kinda lose that exclusive advantage.
This, schmups in general don't get love because they're massive casual filters you download for free and spend hundred of imaginary quarters making it past the third stage where your skill is rewarded again.
> he enjoys attacking backwards or sideways for 90% of the run more than having a fucking forwards attack AND the same speed
dumb fuck
Does youmu also get the easier stage 4?
Stars are bs to dodge unlike orbs
WITH NO SURVIVORS
8 is easier
Thanks for the positive message user.
I’ll keep playing it until I can improve myself.
You say Youmu but I can't help but imagine what you actually mean is Yuyuko for 90% of the run.
The thing with 8 is that the Deathbomb mechanics are fucked, so someone with no experience with touhou will learn bad habits.
I've been debating whether 6 or 7 is the best starting game and ended up in 7 because it's way easier than 6 and the Cherry mechanic isn't intrusive on the main gameplay, rather it just helps you.
So my ideal starting order for someone new is 7->6->8 and then the rest, unless you're a hardcore player and want to play by release order, in which case there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.
N-no... the game says 81.2%. So what if my bullets are red? You're moving the goal post!
>Playing by release order
I wouldn't wish a HRtP playthrough on anyone
Same but idk why would anyone play non-canon games :^)
Not a main game but after how many games would be a good time to play Touhou Pokemon mod?
My first 1cc was LLS. It's very good. Please play LLS.
I did games in release order, it was bad. I think its fine to start at 2
Make me!
user, look at the character speeds again...
Marisa Is arguably an easier stage 4 boss than Reimu
Must be a me problem
I found reimu to be easier; you could invalidate half her spells by pressing shift
butt statue
Just play Puppet Dance Performance SoD, made by the guy who made the original hack and it's better in some ways than the actual mainline Pokémon games.
I'd rather deal with Reimu than Marisa myself. It's not even really the spells that decide it, Reimu just has far easier nonspell patterns. Marisa's just get really scary.
stars have pretty wonky fucking hitboxes, so unless you know them then the fight is a pain
Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I'll work my way backwards and any 2hus I like in this I'll go back and play their games.
Think so too. I routed Marisa nons so they're never an issue (except her 3rd one with the random trajectories, fuck those), and literally none of her spells are a threat. On the other hand, Fantasy Seal Worn and Marred can both fuck me up, and Fantasy Seal Blink is absolute ass for challenge runs. Pretty sure I need 4 digit IQ to capture it.
I played starting from EOSD but skipped forward without necessarily beating the game, and my first clear was IN (after having played up to maybe 13).
Not because of the deathbomb mechanics, but because it was genuinely the easiest for me. The patterns just made sense. Reimu and Reisen are shockingly forgiving stage 4/5 bosses, maybe one of their patterns each had a significant amount of "random" bullets to keep track of rather than distinct lines that turned dodging into a maze solving game.
Touhou games need to be modernized for the average weeb and just play themselves. Also add leveling up system and dating sim elements.
LMAO!
Shitpost but I'd play an official dating sim not going to lie.
Do fan games not exist to do this?
> official dating sim
I don't think ZUN could get over the fact that they're all hyper-violent maniacs long enough to give them intimate scenes.
An official dating sim would ruin everything
My real question is, why the FUCK there hasn't been a high quality doujin dating sim yet? No, I don't mean Era games, I mean a real, VN dating sim with 2hu bitches
Damn, vampires look like THAT?
