Trying to make Sonic "serious" is the cancer that ruined it and the fandom

AoStH & Boom are both great for different reasons. I will say that Boom's whole cast is entertaining while in AoStH the villains carry a lot of the comedy, but AoStH has much better visuals to enhance gags rather than Boom manipulating the same models in the same ways.

They both shit on SatAM and Underground though, with X somewhere in the middle (closer to the lower end). If you want SatAM's cast you're better off with the comics.

You're right, but listening to the AoStH pilot with Cumming as Robotnik just doesn't feel right compared to Baldry. Long John's oddly musical tone even when yelling and his effortless rolls when saying any r sound were incredible, on top of having great delivery for some of the sillier dialogue.

Both are bad. Only the OVA was good.

What's the consensus of Sonic Underground? It's a unique take on Sonic's ambitions to say the least

It's a clusterfuck by every metric. Jaleel White talking to himself with three different voices, one of them meant to be female, is not a good time. Robotnik in it is just a worse version of SatAM's and his minions are literally who dumbasses. It's only worth it for the catchy opening theme and the hilariously awful Knuckles episode.

It's aimless and pointless but it is, utterly and entirely, about video games via the secondary connection in that chart Moot made many years ago about Yas Forums posting.

3&K managed to keep things pretty serious and tense without uttering a single word. It is also the best Sonic game and one of the greatest and most notable games of all time

I agree that it's the best Sonic game, and I love it a lot. I played it growing up and completed it many, many times over. However I don't think it's up there with the greatest games of all time, even though I would put it in my own personal list of favorites of all time.

It makes sense since Sonic isn't a kid-friendly thing so it would be weird to turn him into a kid-friendly character. Instead of a stand-alone hero, it'll be Sonic who is the first playable character in the game so he can test the waters before being put in the game of his own. After all, he is still the underdog and unlike Kirby, Sonic wouldn't stand a chance if he got shot at by kids.
