Pretty ironic for a Morrowindfag to complain about quests in Oblivion being boring. I guess I just don't have the mental capacity to comprehend why "go get me some flowers" is the pinnacle of god-tier quest design.

Oblivion did have some things done better than Skyrim, and arguably Morrowind, like shops, lockpicking and thievery in general, though lockpicking being better than Morrowind depends on your preference regarding rpg skill mechanics.
Where it fails, so does Skyrim, and if we disregard graphics and utterly generic setting (of which Skyrim is equally guilty), I’d have to place it slightly above Skyrim.
