If you call a game a remake and people expect a remake, it's not their fault that you hid massive changes till the last second. The time travel shenanigans would actually make sense for this one, messing with time to avoid her fate was the main motivation of the villain. And people would generally be more forgiving of them altering parts of 8's plot than 7's anyway.

I could never get into it. I liked the music and the visuals but the gameplay was a repetitive grind and the story felt like a jumble of stuff that apparently don't make sense until disk 2 where everything is told to you. I was really close to getting to disk 2 as well but I gave up on it. It still pains me that I dumped 48 hours into it for nothing, I remember next to nothing about the story that's supposed to be the game's best asset.
Shame since I actually took a look at that Perfect Work thing yesterday since there was a thread about the game on /vr/ and it seemed interesting enough but none of what I read was clear in the game.

Lucky for you Squeenix doesn't care that much about it, just like, fortunately, they don't care for VI.
