Yomawari was so good. The sequel a little less so because the boss fights were kinda tedious but it still had its highlights (the fucking empty bulding).

You gotta find 25 effects

You wander around the world and interact with things. The goal is to look for 24 "effects", little odds and ends that sometimes do a thing and sometimes not. Really though, it's more an instance of the journey being more important than the destination, the appeal is sort of zenning out to the sights, sounds and secrets you stumble upon along the way. YN's probably the best game I've ever played when it comes to conveying a sense of sheer exploration.

He's kinda fucked up but I don't know what you want to accomplish by saying that. There are much easier ways to bait.
