Danny era was passable until around 2014 or so. There was a gradual decline in quality starting soon after. I'd say the switch from "okay" to "actually kind of bad" started around 2016. I've been watching the slow-motion trainwreck since then. These days the channel is trash, basically bottom of the barrel pandering and clickbait. I've never in my life seen someone sell out as hard as Arin Hanson.

I sometimes go back to their channel on a whim and I'm always amazed at how they consistently become less funny each time I check back.

If the dude takes a cue from Jon and splits, I would instantly become his biggest fan. Sticking to a platform and medium you don't really care about, even if just to pay the bills, kills all respect I could have had for him, which includes his music.

I enjoyed their play of House Party. That was pretty funny. Wish they’d do more.

Funny enough oneyplays got better as it went on, not worse. Chris has aged well and isn't just playing whee ragdoll games while saying shit like "skibidabop". Although I wish they would return to fucking with people online in roleplay communities.

Game Grumps stopped being good around mid to late 2018. If anything, I can commend them for listening to the fans and actually uploading longer videos. Shit was frustrating back in 2015 when they were playing Trauma Center or Sakura Spirit and having to wait for daily uploads. Their live action stuff on their other channel is also refreshing. But all in all, I only await the day where they break up and they stop forcing themselves to do something they don't want to do.

Officially, Jon was losing interest in the LP thing and wanted to go make his own shit, and the breakup was amicable. No one besides them knows what really went down, except the last part isn't 100% accurate because Arin would get noticeably bothered when someone mentioned Jon for a while, though they seem to have reconciled.

I assume Arin got butthurt cause he knew he needed Jon to continue, and knew his absence would ruin his LP career. Feeling of betrayal, etc... and it wasn’t until Danny took up the mantle for Jon, and was seen as the new proper co-partner for the Grumps that Arin eventually accepted and reconciled. My two cents from former business partnerships. When one party wants to leave and do their own thing, the one wanting to continue usually gets butthurt.
