I've only played Doom and HL, but I don't really think they're comparable. They attempt different things. Doom is an arcadey dungeon crawler and HL is a cinematic story-based linear adventure.

HL. Saying HL is a zoomer game is the new Yas Forums meme. Try to play half life again, the gameplay progression always feels good. DOOM and Quake feel outdated. If you go back to Yas Forums 10 years ago people would say the same, but somehow now that alyx came suddenly HL is shit.

they all do shit differently, but ultimately i'd say quake because of the verticality compared to doom and half life is a completely different game

Quake's campaign was a snoozefest, the multiplayer was the only good part.

They're all good but Doom is really the only one that's stood the test of time and still holds up today.

Half-Life is just Quake but improved in every way, literally. Look up the history of Source. That’s why the games have a similar vibe. Doom is Doom. It’s great but obviously Half-Life will have more engaging gameplay loops.

Half-Life is good but can be annoying on repeat playthroughs with how much downtime there is
Quake is okay, multiplayer is more fun than the singleplayer but is outdone by Q3A

it's fun from a historical perspective. This is coming from someone who preordered it when it came out.
if you play it make sure you find the original music files somewhere because i don't think they come packaged with the new distributions due to copyright expiration or something

Also to add to this, I just played some og DOOM and still enjoy it. Something I never do for Quake or the first Half Life.

Each of them are great in their own ways... But... Half-life for me, because a shit ton mods came from it...

I can still go back to half-life and quake and enjoy them. Doom just feels bland now.

Definitely not doom because Quake is everything Doom was and more. Depending on my mood it’s either Half Life or Quake 1. Quake has that amazing lovecraftian setting and some really fun weapons and movement but Half Life is feels more grand and the characters and overall story is more interesting. All three are classics though

Doom. Its got so many fucking mods its insane, plus it helps the game itself is good with good music and good level design, albeit the gameplay is slightly dated. But every game in you pic has "slightly dated" gameplay anyway so who cares
