people mostly whine about it not having item boxes, sure it does create a bit more backtracking than you'd want but otherwise it's a solid game, I personally recommend it alongside all the other RE games on steam besides umbrella corp and operation raccoon city

It's an okay game. The inventory system is a pain your first time through and the level design is pretty basic. Most of the time you'll go down a hallway to some rooms to collect an item and walk out the way you came since they don't really interconnect like some of the better RE levels do.

This game does an awful job of letting you know when you're past a point of no return. I wasn't able to use my lockpick on the toy store at the beginning or open the locked cases in the RPD (never found the keycard). Did I miss anything important? I'm already at the hospital.

Oh well, I think I can still beat the game without them. Still, this is another reason why I liked RE2 a lot better. There was lots of backtracking and when you were being forced to another area permanently (the labs) it would make sure to tell you.
