However, just if the core gameplay stays the same from 4a with some minor improvements it'll still be more fun then Persona 5.
But that's assuming its gonna come out (or even get any new trailers) within the next year.

they were already bombarded with requests to port p5 to switch, couldn't they ensure that smtV sells well by including a FROM THE MAKERS OF PERSONA 5 on the next trailer?

4A's gameplay in 3D and without the shit characters will automatically make it fun to play, the music will definitely be really good too since Kozuka is back
Everything else is a coin flip though. I don't think we're getting another band of anime tropes but that doesn't mean the characters will automatically be good either. I expect the story to rip off Nocturne as much as 4 ripped off 1 and 4A ripped off 2. There will probably only be about 20 new demon designs with all but one being for story bosses, and half of them will be lame as fuck. P5 having actual dungeons compared to P3/4 proved popular so I expect them to return to mainline too, though they might be only P5 quality in the process. Same DLC out the ass as any modern atlus game. Small chance at exploring outside of Tokyo has been hinted at in early interviews but who knows.
Regardless of any of this I expect it to have better launch sales than SMTIV and eventually reach 800k-1 million worldwide.

SMT is to Atlus as Dragon Quest is to Square. While Square puts all their resources towards pumping out and changing the formulas to Final Fantasy they do their best to leave the formula to Dragon Quest untouched. I believe Atlus treats Persona the same and tries to leave SMT to the true fans.

Atlus doesn't make bad games. Persona 5 is one of the best JRPGs of all time. And I'm sure smtv will be just as great
