Besides the end derailing the original story, what else changed? Is it a solid remake for 98.6% of the game and then Nomura just runs in at the last second and blows a load all over it?

Walkthrough part 1
That seems to be the case, considering the amount of shit that's been retained.
>Besides the end derailing the original story
Actually, the ending pretty much ends on a more somber version of the party leaving Midgar. The game's pretty much primed to start exactly where it should at this point, but with the context of the Sephiroth threat changed slightly
Other than that, not much is different aside from a possibly alive Zack in another timeline, but even that scenario could just as easily end with youtu.be
>Besides the end derailing the original story, what else changed
Its not gonna derail anything mayor. Literally all of this is to make open in how aeris will or will not die.
Both sides have the same objectives.
why would i watch someone else to play like a cuck
for now not much, wait for the next parts, i doubt they will even be called "Remake"
This guy sucks massive dick at the game. He's spent like, 15 minutes on The Huntsman, wildly attacking like a dumbass. I hope this isn't your gameplay, user.
Thank you, but I don't want to watch the game before I play it. Just want to know if it'll feel like a remake for most of the playthrough.
Yas Forums, how would you have done it better?
>The game is not a remake, it is a split-off from just before Cloud and co. leave Midgar. You cannot demand a one-to-one remake because this is not the product you are developing and nobody cares you want it.
>There are some forces at play that want FF7R to be FF7. What are they and how do they interact with the plot, immediately and irrevocably derailing it from FF7's events?
>There is some acknowledgement that FF7 happened and is the proper or canonical order of things.
>Don't be silly, this story isn't going to end exactly the same way as the original or follow the original's plot anymore. See previous point, you cannot just have a one-to-one remake, re-railing the story is a cop out.
>How does Sephiroth factor into it? He's the lead villain of FF7 as it is and the most popular JRPG villain ever, of course he'll be involved.
They are literally just writing themselves out of the responsibility of making a faithful remake. That is ALL this is.
All these theories about a proper FFVIIR being too big too handle for SquareEnix turned out to be 100% true, it would be too expensive and too time-consuming and they know it. Nomura craziness is just a convenient excuse, SE does not want the burden of actually having to make all of VII again, so they're pulling a switcharoo and saying "Actually this is a stealth sequel and we can do whatever the fuck we want!"
Personally I think it's for the better, better to go fucking wild then do something like REmake3 were they mostly cut content instead of making huge changes.
They clearly don't want to make a faithful remake.
Part 1 is mostly the same as the OG with an intense focus and expansion on midgar life, eco terrorism and avalanche
The game ends with a jenova fight on the highway. Sephiroth appears barely and fucks off. Party is confused and hey demand cloud an explanation. Game ends with cloud saying "it all started, 7 years ago", with "that day 5 years ago" track playing while the credits roll
This better end with the camera panning out to Cloud in a straitjacket and a padded room
Sorry guys we aren't allowed to discuss this game for another few weeks until Yas Forums stops shitting its pants
>They are literally just writing themselves out of the responsibility of making a faithful remake.
Not really, they just want to add the possibility of aeris living or not. But in the end it wont change.
The plot not changing is a cop-out, now that they've introduced spooky ghosts from the future that want FF7R to be FF7.
there you go
user so tell us how the second episode is, since you've clearly played it
Not him, but if they didn't have plan for major changes, they wouldn't have put that shit in.
That has absolutely nothing to do with what I said, you don't put in characters saying they have to avoid the snatches of the ending they saw and then it just amounts to nothing, they get the ending anyways. That's stupid. Really, really stupid.
I disagree. I think you’ll need to let Aeris die at some point, making it more painful. Friendly reminder the plot doesn’t work without her dying.
he didnt even play part 1 lol
So then why did he expect the game to go back to being FF7?
I think it’s very simple to look at SE’s track record and the creative minds at the helm to come to a very cynical conclusion about 7RE’s future
You somehow lost consciousness and didn't read "spooky ghosts from the future".
Five bucks on the sequels being expansions that have a Telltale Games style mechanic where your choices will determine how 1:1 the story ends up being
Its called SETUP you enormous fucking retard. Holy Christ its actually amazing how many posts I've seen going on about how its soooooooo obvious that Zack and Aerith will live now and have a happy ending, and its just fucking laughable. You niggers genuinely understand writing less than the Japanese, and that's fucking embarrassing.
thats what im saying
they want to add the possbility of aeris living, but she has and will to die
This, Aerith dying is literally one of the most memorable parts of gaymen history, they likely want to do something different with it because every fucking person knows it happens. I still think she'll end up dying in some way or another as well, but even veteran players won't know when hopefully.
I'm thinking the game will follow the original story but some optional choices may unlock new endings. I think there will extre boss fights of harbingers of fate that will unlock a new ending. Anyone else on the same train of thought?
You're arguing with somebody in your head, not with me, and I'm not going to talk to you anymore.
Oh man what a fucking loss bro, how will I get my daily dose of Vitamin Retard?
Some of us have played KH before and know how one of the lead creators functions
I'm looking forward to what happens when the reach the City of the Ancients now. If Sephiroth knows he can't kill Aerith there because things end up poorly for him, I wonder how it changes.
You mean the series that gave Sora a bad ending that caused Yas Forums to shit its pants? That Kingdom Hearts?
1:1 for the main gameplay.
All side quests, and DLC are "What if?" scenarios, or expansion on current stuff. (Such as, where does cloud live? like in this game)
No AU/timetravel/sequel nonsense in the main game.
He's gotta keep that bitch outta the lifestream
There's nothing stopping Sephiroth from beelining for the Black Materia and winning instantly if he knows how the plot works.
you do realize we literally have the videos of fighting one winged angel sephiroth, along with the 1v1 duel with sephiroth at the edge of creation, right?
>1:1 for the main gameplay.
The Midgar section is like 4 hours in FFVII.
He can't very well let Aeris complete her ritual because they would win if she succeeded anyway. He'll need to take a third option and somehow take the City of Ancients out of the equation completely.
The absolute first stipulation was you cannot have a 1:1 remake that doesn't change the plot and you fucked it up, user, bravo.
>1:1 for the main gameplay.
*pukes*
Nobody believed he actually got a bad end, especially since he was explicitly shown alive. People were mad because it was pointless bullshit from the master of pointless bullshit, who decided to double down on said bullshit in what many people expected to be the capstone of a long-running series. Besides, pointing out Sora is explicitly ignoring the 20-ish characters he brought back for no reason and inexplicable happy end for the big bad
>If you want to win over Sephiroth, Cloud, Aerith must to die
This is the most kino thing in Square in decades. Fuck off with the 1:1
user, read the post i replied to
you aint the sharpest tool in the shed, huh
ah yes, i remember the original FF7 having what if scenarios playable as fecth quests...
the "1:1" comment was for reference, not to be literal.
>Nobody believed he actually got a bad end
lmao nice revisionism. Sorry pal, I was actually on Yas Forums and in those threads, you can't lie to me.
So what the hell is this remake anyway? Is it the full game? Is it only part of the original game? What is the appeal? I am so very confused.
>He specifically states that KH is continuing after Xehanort dies
>People are intrigued and optimistic
>Game comes out
>People are mad it continues after Xehanort dies
my mistake. i did try to read the post you were replying to, but read another one by mistake. not sure how it happened. oh well.
got too used to ppl lying about what happens in the remake, i didnt question your reply enough.
>original
>I want to kill everybody
>oh, hey, that retard that threw me in the reactor, I can use him
>fuck, that bitch is annoying, she has to go
>remake
>Sephiroth constantly teases and literally sexually harasses him through the game like he's supposed to be the be all and end all of the plot, poking him into joining Darkness and teasing him about Aerith being skewered
>yay, we got Holeeh
>casts
>wait, why it's not moving
>Sephiroth.jpg
>well, we can just wait for Rufus to blow the barrier up
>go to Junon
>everybody is dead and the place is on fire because nobody can stop him from killing everybody he sees fit now
>tfw
>in before Aerith can fucking control the weapons into firing at the barrier
You'd have to be stupid to not realize that FF7R part 2 is going to be from Zack's PoV
>the meeting in Tifa's bar in the secret room under the pinball machine is totally cut, also meaning Barret's theme is cut entirely
>instead Tifa takes cloud to check on some dude who turns out to be a Sephiroth clone.
>Then there's a mission with Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge to steal some blasting agent from a Shrina warehouse where they meet Roche and stop at Jessie's mom's house
>The a massive horde of the changebad ghosts attack the sector 7 slums
That's the major stuff I know so far.
He's not alive in their timeline, if he stops her from dying we surpassed KH3 in levels of shit plot.
the game's mostly loyal to the original till the last few hours when the fuck up is so big you wouldn't believe it without experiencing it yourself. It's basically Kingdom Hearts VII Remake... I really cannot see how there wouldn't be a massive shitstorm next week. It's gonna get ugly I tell you.
The appeal is "what happens if a deviantart-tier fanfiction is turned into an video game with an AAA+ budget".
Sort of like Axe Cop, but not nearly as entertaining.
The remake's turned out to be something completely original and diverges in plot from Final Fantasy 7 shortly before Cloud and the party leave Midgar. As of the end of chapter 1 it's only part of the original game and moving on to become its own thing. People are buttmad it's not a full remake now.
There's not also the dementors when Tifa has got guilt problems?
Sephiroth in general is fanfiction.
This is wrong. Jenova is fought IN shinra HQ. the last boss is against the Voltron of the Arbiters of fate and then vs sephiroth.
>corridors all over the place in a city
>fetch quests
>solid remake
Nah
Technically not even what you call a partial remake is an actual remake.
It's an impostor that acts like the remake, kinda like Cloud.
