just buy a rift for less than half the price

>have the money
Do you, though? Are you sitting on 2000 in your checking account, but nothing in retirement, and you don't own a home? Because "having the money" doesn't mean shit if you're just pumping cash into money pits and don't save anything.

If you're paralysed from buyers remorse then you don't have the money. Your own subconscious is telling you that, simple as.

Just do it. I haven't regretted mine at all.

if you want vr then you will have fun with vr

That's because you don't actually fucking want it, your brain is thinking reasons up to sway you from buying it. Listen to your brain user. The only thing that happens if you wait is it gets cheaper & better. There's no major multiplayer must have, there's nothing you won't be able to play in 3 years if you have to wait that long. I know it's appealing to try and get on board now, but there's NOTHING PRESSING.

I bought it. It's pretty cool. $1000 isn't really that much for entertainment. Vidya on the whole is pretty cheap compared to other consumption "hobbies." Hell my TV cost me more.

>own a home
Maybe if this corona thing actually crashes the economy. Not going to pay fucking 5 times the prices than 2 years ago, that's a joke.

Whatever, the point is you should not drop 1k on an item that will lose 90% of its value within 5 years unless 1k truly is trivial to you. If you're on Yas Forums, 1k is probably a lot of money.

>Your own subconscious is telling you that, simple as.
I have pre-purchase remorse on buying a fucking 20 dollar game, it's not about the money. It's probably some kind of poverty mindset despite not being poor for more than a decade.

you just fall into the hype coomsumer
if you want vr just buy rift s, this thing isn't worth the price, this is not the only hmd to play vr

Buy a Rift S. save your money

>Do you, though? Are you sitting on 2000 in your checking account, but nothing in retirement, and you don't own a home?

>tfw this is me

youre getting an index for free from the stimulus anyway lmao just buy it bro

do you have like 2m x 2m free where you can mount lightboxes to the wall?
can your computer actually push it's full res at 144hz?
If so go for it, it's a blast

I get where the poorfag meme comes from now

This. Might as well wait until there's actually something on the market besides one game.

You're better off buying Beat Diablo with it's DLC

Attached: file.png (646x247, 23.24K)

1k is a lot of money no matter how rich you are
before some sperg chimes-in and starts calling people poorfags, drop 1k in my paypal if it truly means nothing to you, or shut your child-ass up

>Pay me whitey
LMAO

>drop 1k in my paypal if it truly means nothing to you
You didn't post your paypal

i dont need to, because i know you're all full of shit

You can't actually even pay for one currently, so this image is ancient.
If you try to order one now it merely adds you to the waitlist.

I wouldn't even say that, there's a few good games, the walking dead game is super fun, boneworks is fun, h3 is fantastic and a must-buy for anyone who likes guns even passingly, and then yeah you have alyx, and vrchat I guess, beat saber if you're into that.

But none of those are anything even close to things that will be dead or gone if he just waits. Best case scenario, VR improves even further in, let's say 3 years. Worst case, VR dies entirely and he buys some used index for a quarter the price (or even less). That's not to say VR isn't worth buying, if you want it, that's fine.

But if he's having second thoughts, he should fucking LISTEN TO THEM.

Funny that you would say this to the richest user you'll ever reply to.

Because you want to play a single game with it really bad that isn't even that good compared to 8ts series. It is the price of upgrading your graphics card, yes it isn't worth it. It is enthusiast gear. That being said it is your money user, your choice and your regret.

>paralyzed from possible buyers remorse
Samsung made price cuts for Odyssey+ which implies they will announce next gen vr
HP announced Reverb G2
Oculus next gen ‘Del Mar’ got leaked

>muh money saving
you're going to be that 70 year old man with millions to spend but are so asstight with money you'll never buy anything if it costs more than a few hundred.

put your money where your mouth is

>tfw save 20% of each paycheck
>got 9% of my paycheck going to 401k
>feel honestly fearful taking any money out of those accounts

If you have to think about whether VR is worth 1k or not then it's not worth 1k.
There aren't enough good games for it to be worth it. Alyx is pretty good but not the greatest game ever made. I beat it twice in 15 hours and don't feel like playing it again.

Attached: 1.jpg (1436x1436, 257.57K)

There's other headsets out there that do the same damn thing. Why would you go for the one that costs a thousand euros when you don't even know if you're into it or not?

Don't withdraw from your 401k until you retire or it's an emergency you fucking retard. You will get FUCKED by taxes and penalties for doing so

favourite vr games so far:
boneworks - has cool movement and physics mechanics
distance / thumper - cool rhythm games
elite dangerous / everspace - cool but not invested enough yet to fully understand controls and mechanics
moss - amazing concept, hope more isometric platformers come out
space pirate trainer - near perfect arcade style execution
until you fall - aerobic sword fighting
alyx - obviously

sent ;)

Oh, I know when it comes to the 401k. I just don't like taking from my savings. Like I feel regret whenever I take out $75

do you like rhythm games my man? because beat saber is probably the only VR game you can sink hours into, except for maybe VR Chat if you are into that degenerate shit
Alyx is fun and all but is it worth buying an Index for? Absolutely not

Personally, I got me a CV1 recently and really.. I hardly touch it. In fact, I haven't even swapped out the batteries since I got it and they are still charged at 50% supposedly.
I finished all of Alyx, tried boneworks, blade and sorcery, beat saber, superhot vr and really... most of the games are indie garbage built around the same gimmicks rather than trying to innovate.
Multiplayer shooters are fun, but all of them are kinda disappointing with Pavlov being the best out of the bunch so you should definitely try that game.

Do I feel buyer's remorse? Not really, since I spent only around $250 + $70 for prescription lenses mainly for HL:A and I think it was worth it since I also got some VR buddies to play some games with. Overall though, there's no big proper games on this except for HL:A which is relatively short.

holy fuck, thanks user

cheers mate

>asstight with money
OP here and I'm definitely that.
It's a fucking ordeal whenever I buy anything above like the $100 mark.
My last computer purchase was 2 entire months of looking at shopping carts and purchase buttons.

send me 10 btc

there's a difference user, being cautious with money and out weighing the negatives and positives of a purchase and worrying if it will put a dent in your wallet or just like the other guy and saving for pretty much no reason just build wealth

post a timestamped picture of your arm with "i'm gay" written on it with marker and your paypal email

first poster gets an index

You're gonna have buyers remorse because after 2 months you're going to get bored with it until another 10 years down the line when they release another Half Life VR game.

>being cautious with money and out weighing the negatives and positives of a purchase
Or it's depression acting up because I have no goals in life and the reality that buying shit will never make me happy.

I used to save mad money.
Until a friend of mine died.
You could get smoked any day and never get to use any of that money.
I don't live paycheck to paycheck but I'm not going to horde my money like most of the wannabe rich poorfags on here that think people that have money only spend it on rent/bills and food and literally nothing else.
My advice would be, if you want something and you can get it, get it as fast as humanly possible because none of us know how much time we got left, I ain't wasting my days beancounting because I may or may not want something later, fuck that.

VR is only starting to become a thing. Your Index will be outdated by the time there are enough games to make VR worthwhile. Just wait it out if you have any doubts.

well.. why not buy it and try it out for a bit and just return it when you're done. that is if valves return policy is good

NOT IN STOCK

Attached: giphy.gif (300x300, 1.86M)

You aren't even going to see it for 2 months

Don't buy VR. It's not worth it yet.

Wait a few years, and get an actual gen 2 headset. You'll enjoy it more, and you can play the handful of games you missed out on in the span of a week.

>been staring at this for a day, paralyzed from possible buyers remorse
You don't want one. If you have to stop and think about it for more than a day, you don't want it, at least for that price, and will get remorse.
t. have the exact same problem.

>Missed the golden age of VRChat before it became mostly tranny coomers.
>Will assert social programs in VR are the same as discord because he's dumb and poor.
Silence, peasant. I'm better than you.

Based absolute retard.
Cling to that emotional response, it will serve you well in 45 years when you have nothing but a substandard income offered by the government to stand on.

Your friend was the exception. An overwhelming amount of young folk will live beyond their 60s. Course correct as soon as possible — unless this is just an excuse to burn money as you please. In that case, continue on your disastrous financial journey to the pits of regret.

Index is the best headset on the market, but also really fucking expensive. Unless you're an enthusiast and have a very good PC, I'd wait.
I'd just get a cheaper Rift CV1 or wait for Rift 2

What's your favorite VR games, bois? Mine are Blade and Sorcery, Pavlov, and Doom 3

Attached: 1550799400022.png (752x710, 746.34K)

>dropping $1,000 on something absolutely guaranteed to not be worth it

user, the Index is either going to be worthless in five years or cheaper in five years. It's a win/win to wait. VR isn't for people who have to strongly consider a $1,000 purchase right now, it's for people who are autistic or retarded fucking cattle consumers who buy $5,000+ worth of console-shit every decade.

Better headsets will come out at better prices soon; the Index is good but Valve selling this for $1,000 is as retarded as their shitty fucking overpriced 1-analog controller.

VRChat was always discord tier cancer. Sure, it was more fun at the start, but the undercurrent of ERP tranny shit was always there. Of all the hills to die on, VRChat is probably the most pathetic.

It got even worse one day after release after le epic youtube personalities swamped it, but that was inevitable.

h3, by far. I can spend hours in that shit every day just dicking around with the guns and ways that everything interacts. I've rigged up a makeshift trebuchet/pigeon launcher that throws RPG rockets, which I try to shoot out of the sky to work on aim and reaction. It just hits something that I really wanted boneworks to, but it doesn't since it's such a small slice of game.

Listen to your instincts user

Maybe read my post again retard.
I don't live paycheck to paycheck.
Sorry me being able to afford stuff makes you so mad.
Actually I'm not sorry, end your life.

Well, that's like, your subconscious man.

rift s doesnt work for me some reason idk something to do with the USB 3.0?

>saves up everything for that ONE DAY when you retire
enjoy turning 70 with lots of money and regret about wasted youth

I've downloaded hundreds of additional songs in Beat Saber. It's great for parties since it keeps people entertained and awake, and also fun to play my own.

pls send 1k

>Trying this hard to look like you have money management skills on Yas Forums.
Why don't you put in for overtime wagie, clearly you don't value your own free time or entertainment.

index is super high end but there are good cheaper alternatives.

pastebin.com/jDXja2AX

$1000 isn't too expensive for the enjoyment you get out of it. I have a motorcycle and you get far less hours of enjoyment out of riding a motorcycle but it cost 10 times as much.

>you should not drop 1k on an item that will lose 90% of its value within 5 years unless
You just described any high end GPU or PC for that matter.
