Dom is my fucking nigga. I'm gonna move his house next to mine and we're gonna be Bros 4 Lyfe. We're going to lift weights and hang out and ride motorcycles made of sunlight and music into the stars. Ten thousand years from now, our bromance will be the stuff of legend. People will say, "there was never a bromance as strong as theirs". No homo.

It adds a lot of new mechanics that were sorely needed in previous entries, but as a result a lot of features/NPCs were cut. I'm fine with a slow drip of free content to keep things interesting except for the fucking rabbit but it does feel like the devs failed again to make a worthy post game.

Also, the online is atrocious. Only Nintendo can find ways to fail at online interactivity. "You want to drop into another person's island to trade turnips? too bad, you have to watch this 5 minute cutscene while other players are joining."

Other than that, the game is fun overall.

I haven’t been this absorbed by a game in a long time. Its relentlessly engaging if you like pottering about building a grand vision over time. I actually find it really therapeutic too.

I’m 100% convinced that the purple bear, Megan, is not in this game. I’ve never seen anyone talk about her, and I’ve never seen anyone have them on their island. I’ve been spending Nook miles like a madman trying to get her and am having no luck.

I'm really happy with the villagers i got.
Didn't even use amiibo or farm tickets, i love every single one, Pashmina, Lucky and Biskit were never villagers i cared much about, but now they are some of my absolute favorites.

Nintendo must be laughing along with Disney with their release dates. It's perfect for the time we've entered, and sales are showing it.

As for the game, it's fine. Laid back and perfect to pass an hour a day. Online is very stable, but the way it loads people in needs to be improved either in this game via update or the next.

Needs some serious QOL updates asap. The game can be frustrating at times because of some serious lack of thought in some departments, and also needs some other activities to do. At this in time, you might play 20~30 minutes on a day where nothing relevant happened in your island.

Nintendo has shit netcode, as all Japanese companies, they always decide to do everything in-house because not wanting to take on outside support. They rollback to the previous save (which can happen randomly during online play) if the connection crashes.

It's good, but it suffers from a lot of QoL issues.
>no convenient way to see what is cataloged or what isn't
>can't bulk buy or craft anything with ease
>lots of dialog that should be one-time only has to be sat through over and over (Dodos is a good example, or ATM speaking at all)
>Clunky inventory/tool management, especially with wheel vs right/left
>No way to see durability of items
>No rhyme or reason as to which items can be customized and which cannot, and ones that cannot often have recolors named the same which count separately in the catalog
>arbitrary town decoration colors which cannot be ordered from the catalog gated behind native town shit
A few issues solve themselves, like you don't really need the vaulting pole anymore once you get terraforming because you can just put land together to let you hop riverbanks and fix land to give yourself inclines in convenient places, but the finnicky nature of those systems is also less than ideal.
