2. if you're browsing a menu and there is no significant GPU or CPU load they won't produce much heat
3. the PS5 runs at consistent power so it's running its PSU at full power at all times. the xbox does this the opposite way. clocks are locked but power is variable (the way all consoles in history have done it). the ps5 solution is inferior.

If XSX comes out more expensive which it vary well might then PS5 is an okay system, weaker but cheaper is a legitimate comprimise.

the ps5 has one of the shittest designs in history. normal consoles are designed around a fixed clock and the cooling and power are made to ensure those clocks are stable even under the heaviest loads. on a ps4 the fan gets really loud when its hot but it never throttles and if it gets too hot like if you're in a hot room and the APU is hitting like 100C it will just turn off. basically on the ps4 if the load isn't high then they decrease the power which decreases the heat and decreases the fan noise. on the ps5 from what i can gather they're using a fixed power consumption so it's consistent at all times but its the clocks which are variable which is retarded because if you're under a heavy workload on say, the GPU it means you'd have to throttle back the CPU to accommodate for the extra power the GPU might need. its kinda like stretching resources between the two. to put it into some perspective the xbox has a locked clock and each part of the APU has its own power profile so even if the GPU is being heavily taxed the CPU isn't affected by it at all so you won't get lower performance like you would on the ps5.

Like I said, Playstation is no longer the weeb console. Sony throws money left and right for timed exclusivity of big budget Square Enix properties and Persona, but those games do not release every year. The playstation brand is not as hospitable to smaller devs as Nintendo and their portable console.
