There's even a massive climactic scene were the characters admit that for all the mystical and fantastic nature of their quest they're doing it for simple, genuine, human, reasons. And it's not meant to be subversive or a bait-and-switch that Barrett admits that it was always really about giving his daughter a future worth living in, not preserving the planet and the flow of souls, and the lifestream, and all of that, it's meant to be a scene were we see the better part of human nature in its most simple and heartfelt form.

From what I've seen and experimented in the demo the combat has a lot of potential and depht, but it doesn't really teach you how to play it well. It will be a frustrating experience if you don't know to use the ATB well while exploiting weaknesses, stagger and multiple characters. I expect the game will get slammed for the gameplay by ignorant journos, but it's actually really fine and well designed.

KH is half defense & can be played as either an action game or an RPG.
this has really underdeveloped and novel action mechanics. going on the defence is a bad idea. you're basically trying not to let the enemy attack by interrupting them and building up stagger, ATB & limits.
you're expected to tank damage if it gets you an interruption or staggered state.

I put myself through the entire thing primarly because I was a fan of the series since IV on the SNES and felt the instant dismissal against my disdain towards the game would be "BUT YOU DIDN'T EVEN EXPERIENCE THE WHOLE GAME" - well I did, and it's irrevocably shit. Heard that they patched it up post-release, with both free patches and paid content, but regardless of the fact that some of that shit was unfixable, releasing a broken game and then slowly making it less worse over months of patches is a horrendous example for the industry to follow.
