RNG BAD, SHIT GAME!!!!
I love it
Base game is good if a bit frustrating at times. Crimson Court is an unfun nightmare however
Sorry for the shit grammar fellas, burning the midnight oil.
Game was fine but ending was shit
I stopped when I realized how much grinding was ahead. I didn't like that all my party members were disposable, and had to rely on upgrading the stage coach to progress.
It's fun for a while, but it's not worth finishing a game because all the content is massively stretched beyond its real level of interest. It should have been like a 15 hour game, not a 60 hour one.
Love it. The new DLC seems fun but I wouldn't try it if it wasn't free.
No news about the sequel is sad tho'
>go into the Ruins
>a skeleton appears, holding a glass of wine
>stress +35
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I'M GOING INSANE!!!! NIGGERMAN, ATTACK!!!
I really like the game though. I even bought it a second time on PC just to install Bloodborne skins and Dark Souls skins.

Cool game
HAHAH YOU MAY HAVE DEFEATED ME
BUT
IT WILL BE AN ENDLESS CYCLE OF ME GETTING MY ASS KICKED BY THE MENTALLY ILL, LEPERS, CLOWNS, AND NON-COMBATANT WOMEN
DOESN'T THAT MAKE YOU WANNA KILL YOURSELF
i honestly love the art and idea but i think my autism prevents me from playing this game, if i want to e.g. use leper in every dungeon descent and then he gets rng fucked into almost maximum stress and has to spend hours to heal from that i lose the will to play
Schizo
>DID THAT UNDEAD JUST SPILL WINE ON ME?
>AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH I'M GOING INSANE
>HELP ME NIGGERMAN
greatly enjoyed it, though I really didn't like the crimson court shit
at some point my entire team had the crimson shit and I had some really good members randomly die, and ultimately set me back through some tedious grinding
maybe I could have handled it better but I wasn't able to clear the first crimson boss for the cure for so long and after I did I just killed off anyone that got the curse again to prevent spreading
AHHHH DIRT AND DEBRIS AAAAAAAAAH HELP ME
Great game with top tier atmosphere. Always appreciated Redhook until news of the multiplayer dlc came out. This is a single player game and i fucking hate pvp. I'm worried about DD2's future now.
singleplayer hearthstone
the atmosphere and narration were so fucking good man
youtube.com
good game, very grindy though
Both of these are correct. There's a point in midgame where you realize you over invested into good party members, are stuck with noobs who can't do anything, and have to grind your way back to replaying the same levels and bosses a few times each. After you find a composition or build that works there's also not really any reason to do anything else. I've played the first chunk of this game so many times and really enjoy it every time I do until I hit that midgame point and end up just putting it down again.
AAAAAAAH CARETAKER SAVE ME
I really hope DD2 can learn from its mistakes, everything about early to mid game was so fucking strong
The ending was perfectly lovecraftian
Yeah, the art and overall vibe of the game are pitch perfect and really drew me in. The game around it holds it up, but it outstays it's welcome and doesn't have a really good progression unless you're a DD nerd and want to do specific runs. I feel like late game might be cool but I'll never know because midgame is such a cock. DD2 seems like it's going to be different overall to me, so I'd hate to see them learn from the game structure but ditch the atmosphere that made the first one great
Yea I have this problem too. Really love the game though
Love the game, has it's flaws but the art, music and voice-over are really top notch.
Expecting good things from the sequel.
Loved it
Looking forward to this PVP update, interested in DD2 but it's still too far off for any real hype
great art
great narrator
absolute shit everything else
grindy, repetitive, tedious
I liked it a lot at first and clocked in almost 300 hours into the game, it has nice atmosphere and it provided me with quite a bit of flaw, since other people praised the game I'll point out my biggest problems with the game
>developers feel the need to "balance" the game to stop playing with "overpowered" strats and the community pretends rolling back your patch is a real solution to this issue
>the game gives you no info on the bosses before you meet them so the first fight with a boss will always be a gamble on wherever you should have brought a balanced team or a gimmick team
>you fight each non-DD boss 3 times with no real noteworthy change
>a lot of items are redundant or should straight up not exist
>bleed and blight are just the same thing but for different areas
>Crimson Court is entirely built around padding your game time
If none of these bother you then I'd say go for it, you might enjoy it. I see the grinding complaint get thrown around a lot but I did Stygian difficulty within the time limit a lot of times and I never felt like I had to grind unless I wanted specific items/stats to bring the original duo to the final boss.
>pvp shit
Fuck that
DD2 news when for Niggerman's sake
Bought it expecting something similar to battle brothers, ended up beeing something way more shallow and dumbed down, people that bitch about rng in this game are all faggots, you can't even see hit chance at all for how little it matters because 90% of the time you are just going to hit shit.
Doesn't have enough content for me to get interested in it.
Gameplay is not that fun, it's just click here and there and repeat the same dungeons with the same "mistery boxes" over and over.
I have played with simplistic and repetitive mechanics before, but they usually have something to encourage you to keep playing.
Sometimes, the gameplay is satisfying (like H&S destroying swarms of enemies, or getting meaningful loot, theorycrafting builds, etc), or the story is intriguing or there are things to unlock (characters, new levels, better skills and equipment, etc).
DD has nothing of the above (for me). Gameplay is linear and mostly RNG. You don't really unlock much, most monsters and levels look similar if not the same, there's barely any loot and the story is anecdoctical.
So the game is just pure challenge. The only reason to keep on going is to beat harder enemies and stronger bosses, trying to keep your party sane and alive, etc. If you don't like that it's a hard game to love.
I think it's a boring game, mainly because it doesn't really fully commit to anything.
The game tricks you into thinking it's a resource management game, that there's a real economy going on, but there isn't. You're never punished for failure, not really, you just get slightly less currency this run. Who cares if a couple scrubs die, they're free. All it does is waste your time with slightly more grind if someone dies. There's no deadlines to meet, no escalating threat, no rewards for performance. It's just completely disinterested in pretending there's any actual tension.
Secondly, the lore is all over the fucking place. This ancestor had his hands in so many fucking pies it becomes ridiculous. It becomes impossible to see this ancestor as an actual person, instead he's the plot device that kinda links all the random pulp horror setpieces together VERY loosely, with no real rhyme or reason to any of their place in the estate / gameworld logic. It feels like the writer himself doesn't care, and then why should I care ?
So overall it's a management game with no actual management and a rpg without a real story / world. You play it purely for the combat mechanics or you don't, which I guess is fine for people that didn't expect much but not for me.
i've reinstalled it like 4 times because i love the artstyle and atmposphere. but i always get burned out after a couple hours because the actual game is way too monotone
Who is "niggerman"?
I know HP was a racist but what is the correlation here
haha I saw this meme before I get it :P
his best friend
I think it's like any fucking roguelite , how many hours have you grinded for items or characters in enter the gungeon or Isaac . same shit different game
base game is nice the only problem is the money , you're always low on money , because sanity levels and removing bad quirks/diseases
so youre stuck grinding for it in mid game but either than that it is a pretty unique game and reminds me of slay the spire a lot
i like it, but been wondering if they will alow modded classes into the PVP
would be rad
cool aesthetic, dogshit game design
Is a good game but it suffers from grinding and developers with the "developer vs player" mentality
I think it's cool and I've been wanting to buy it for years, but I can never get around to it.
Wasn't there a sale recently?
like 2-3 bucks at most
RNG bad, mediocre game. I wanted to enjoy it because of the artstyle.
You kidding? Red hook thinks this is the pinnacle of game design, they're not fixing anything and might make things actively worse.
I want to do nasty things to the Graverobber.
I'M GOING INSAAAAANE
I love it.
Once Crimson court is unleashed, is there any way to cut down on how much they are in non-court locations? I should be able to launch a mission in the courtyard to temporarily cut down their numbers, that way all my uncursed dudes aren't doomed to be succ'd by mossies.
I really dig it, but I dont have enough time and patience to play it out with that steep difficulty curve and permadeaths of characters.
kill one of the bosses and things should calm down for a while, it even cures those who have the curse
>I didn't like that all my party members were disposable
This was the worst part for me, and why I stopped playing. The weight of your party member's dying permenantly - supposedly a huge aspect of th game - becomes meaningless once you realize they are little more than pikmin and that the stagecoach is an onion you can upgrade to produce flower pikmin. Once the last of your veteran, first ten-ish or so party members die, and you're left with clones with different names, you stop caring whether they die or not. This is a problem which I don't know how it can be fixed.
I don't get it
he became too chad for his family, is that it?
his cat
notice the wife is blonde in the first panel and brunette when he returns to her
>tfw still haven't finished the game
>everytime I try, I get hard walled trying to progress into lvl5+
im too brainlet
Yas Forums's opinion over the upcoming DLC?
>There's no deadlines to meet
t.Radiant/Darkest shitter
>"RNG BAD, SHIT GAME!!!!"
Well, i liked it but, the rng can just fuck you so hard, in a normal turn based the rng don't have much to say, but in darkest dungeon it fucks you so much, there will be times where it's just nothing you can do about it
she got her hair died? does the knight not like brunettes?
The pokemon-killer.

Good game. Difficult when you first start but it will all click after a couple dungeon runs. Way too fucking grindy in certain instances but the developers acknowledged that this was an issue and pledged to improve it in the second game.
