This genre is like a sport. You have to practice consistently to be good. Yes that does mean dedicating hours and hours to it but damn will it feel good to win.

Keep researching and rehearsing combos and flowcharting responses to possible scenarios, especially those involving your weakest matchups. Mixing it up is good not just for dispelling burnout, it also helps you get into opponents' heads because now you know their potential responses.

I haven’t played a fighting game in well over 20 years, but I do really like modding joysticks and used to have a little cottage industry selling modded stuff. With the world shut down for a bit, I ordered a Fighting Edge (for the large, heavy case and hayabusa stick), an octagon gate, brown mechanical switch buttons with removable caps to put the art clippings in, half assed photoshopped a “retro” waifu case art, got some aluminum tops, four pound spring, extended shaft and spare regular shafts, oversized actuators, and some solder.

I’ll put it together, play SFV for about five hours, then probably sell it. Then probably repeat. I’m so bored. Anyone wanna see my waifu art?

What do you mean by way dumber? I last played SFV towards the mid-end season 3 and that game is pretty much on par if not more unga-bunga offense than its ever been, but s4 might have changed that.
Whats ASWs? It looks like dbfz to me and that game can't be beat in the visual department. GBV's netcode isn't rollback but even on 2nd from worst connections I get a pretty good experience, especially compared to the one-sided rollback that was on sfv (again not sure if they actually fixed it but from what I heard its a 'sort of')

I spent about 20 minutes on both. The chomped layout is for the plexiglass cover, I’ve never really bothered with plexiglass before but the internet says you need one. I’m curious how the speckled stars turn out compared to the crispy chomped waifu. I suppose I should have spent more time and use twizzlers, but I was really drunk yesterday.

Granblue has tons of retarded specials you can shit out, autocombo mash even pros abuse because its all safe and easy confirms and the roster is pathetic when it comes to both size and character playstyles. The super and cooldown system completely throws meter management out of the window and characters barely have any tools in neutral. Oki is pretty damn braindead and way more oppressive than in SFV.
Top tiers are also braindead which is hilarious considering how tiny the cast is.

Also its a footsie and neutral focused game. If you mean the auto combos are dumb they're implemented about the same as dbfz, where they're there for bad players but also serve as a tool. If you want big damage you're not using auto-combos. Cooldowns I wasn't a big fan of to start but as I played its grown on me, if someone uses they're ex dp and waste it I know I can pressure them harder. It gives the matches a nice rhythm. Meter being round independent is something I don't like though but it really only works as a comeback mechanic instead of being a choice of resources. I'd say if you like street fighter you'd also like granblue.
