I played Sands of Time for the first time a week ago. Great fucking game. I started Warrior Within but took a break from it after I finished the mechanical tower. There's a lot to like about WW, but it's definitely not as strong as SoT.

the hilarious part is when söys and ugly women alike try to pretend like characters like shahdeen dont appeal to both genders as the exact same powerfantasy as the prince himself does. the difference is that men are naturally less spiteful and competitive amidst themselves so they dont retch in fear and terror when someone else looks better than them- most men rarely even think about it at all. theyre goals driven in the sense that if they want to look more like the prince they would grow out their hair and start doing parkour and lifting. if some jealous woman wanted to look like that they would in 99% of cases opt in to throw out the towel and scream that thats not allowed because its "unrealistic". deep down they would still switch places in seconds if possible because women want to have sex appeal and men want to be powerful

I liked the improvements in combat and platforming but the "open-world" island was unnecessary.
There's also a bit too much backtracking and I got really tired of some areas by the time I had to go through them for the third time.
T2T went back to mostly linear paths and it was better for it.

I really enjoyed the the simple story in WW compared to the other two. It's not some epic character study or anything but still a personal plot about the Prince simply not wanting to die after saving the world. Majority of the game is just the Prince isolated on some island-fortress. Not many games I feel can pull that off I feel these days except for maybe the likes of Dead Space 1 and (after like halfway through the game when the Station was completely overrun) and recently Resident Evil 2.

Prince was blue-eyed anglo. Despite the setting he was very white.

I actually preferred WW over SoT. Being chased by the fucking Dahaka was amazing and getting to kill him by collecting the water sword was nice.

the problem with warrior within is the execution of the story because its riddled with plotholes and plot conveniences that could have been solved with more development time (and thats what the game didnt have, it was extremely rushed which is why its so buggy)

It was just edgier than the first, but people don't realize the 2nd is about the Prince being chased out of his kingdom (I think he loses his father again or something?) and being ran like a wild dog to die by a supernatural demon hell bent on fixing his fucking up time. Of course it won't be as whimsically light and carefree as the first. Heck, they had a nice arc to him: playboy prince in the first, edgelord angry in the 2nd, noble and trying to do best by his people in the third.

2008 was great visually and had an interesting story since it was going full on the Zoroastrianism but was pretty bad gameplay wise. I hated the lack of dying and Elsa(?) whatever hot chick's name was just yeeting you back to a safe spot. It made it lack the feeling of actually losing

Hell no. Island with two timezones is reason why i can replay it again and again. You can get Water Sword and unlock real ending. TT is linear so there is no reason to play it again. They added some bad stealth. TT is like DLC for WW. Not improvment at all.

Prince, excluding 2008, is always that Western sort of "Persia is Babylonia" misconception. Since the capital is Babylon to begin with anyway. Outside of memeing about Persians and Arabs it's not a big deal because it's a whimsical nondescript kind of mythological tale a'la a Romance of King Arthur sort of story and not a hard-grounded historical story like "King Arthur is a Sarmatian cavalryman 2004 movie".

City of Brass gets the 1001 nights setting quite right but the gameplay, being a roguelite is a bit shallow.
