Ganondorf was great in Ocarina of Time, he really was. But Zelda is no longer Ocarina of Time nor should it be. Even OoT's direct sequel had the good sense to not dickride Ganondorf. The rest of the franchise should follow suit.

And if you love Ganondorf, you have my condolences. But if you actually let them make new characters then you might end up liking them too.

I love Wind Waker but prefer the Puppet Ganon fight to Ganondorf. The Dorf version of Ganon has always been the least fun antagonist of any Zelda game and I don't know why they insist on returning to that shit all the time.

He looked kinda cool in TP and WW and is fun to play in Smash but as a character he was always fucking boring and people act like it's Skyward Sword that ruined his character.

A reshuffling of the Triforce in a side game to show a villain that represents Wisdom taking on a hero that represents Power would actually be a great idea.

It would have made no sense for Ganondorf to be an ally in BOTW user. It also makes no sense for him to be an ally in BOTW 2 either. Why would Link ally with someone responsible for killing his friends and possible fish fiancé?

I have more than a passing interest in the series and I thought most of the lore introduced in Skyward Sword was fucking stupid, I'd have no complaints if some of it were retconned.

To me, Calamity Ganon and Wind Waker Ganon are the best versions.

By and large I prefer Ganon as a gross pig monster than a human dark lord, but that concept is kinda hard to take seriously in his older forms and now that pig monsters are to Zelda what Goombas are to Mario.
So I think Calamity Ganon deserves huge props for going back to the basics of Ganon (giant magic pig monster) but making him still massively powerful, terrifying and pathetic. Calamity is the endpoint of all of Ganon's ambitions and thirst for power, a giant tumor on a better world that infects everything it comes across. It doesn't get to have a personality or character, Ganon doesn't deserve that kind of humanity anymore. Ganon deserves nothing but to be smited and erased from existence, cleaned out like the piece of shit cancer that he turned himself into.
And for it to come out after Hyrule Warriors, a game that wanks Ganon to the nth degre (which doesn't make it bad, he's obviously the most interesting character to watch in that game), is all the more satisfying.

It's the total opposite of Wind Waker Ganon, and although I don't think it's as well written, I think Calamity Ganon is very efficient storytelling, and I hope BOTW doubles down on what made it work.

There were 4 Zelda games before Ganondorf even made his first in game appearance with OoT. And yet they all had Ganon. Even Awakening, kind of.
But ever since OoT it has been nothing but fucking Ganondorf.

It should have been a requirement for Ganon's human forms / heralds to be different every single time they felt like using one. And them deciding to suck off OoT's dick forever is incredibly lame. Especially when the mere act of shoving Ganondorf into the game by itself forces the game to repeat tons of OoT's plot/lore points.
Out of Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf, Link and Zelda are pretty much blank slates and can be shaped into wide, wide variety of things for every game whereas Ganondorf carries with him a fuckload of baggage due to how he wasn't a non-character in his first appearance and has appearances several multiple games already with the same incarnation.

Said it better than I could have. Agahnim had a way better design and infiltrated Hyrule in a more interesting way from the barebones plot that ALttP got.

Dedede hasn't been a main antagonist since fucking Super Star Ultra. At best, he's controlled/coerced into fighting Kirby at some point in the game, but then works with Kirby directly after. He's more of a recurring Rival than MK is, even. You've got a point with Bowser, though. They've fallen into a bit of a rut with Ganon where, even if they introduce a new villain "lol jk it was Ganon guys look it's Ganon!" They could endeavor for some new villains not unlike Vaati who randomly stopped existing.
