Get K.K. Slider to have a concert on your island, which happens when you rank 3 stars. You get that by having at least 8 villagers and placing a bunch of trees/flowers/fences/decorations.

I got a random Ankha at my campsite today despite having 10 villagers. And yes, I could invite her to live on the island too, although it doesn't seem that you get to choose which villager gets shafted because of it, unless I missed something critical during the invitation process.

Its a win some lose some scenario. If they randomly visit your Campsite they'll move in next day but the villager they replace will be random. If you move them in with Amiibo it takes 3 days but you pick who leaves.

Get both of them.

For the floor: 10 petals and 20 weeds.

You can't use axes or shovels unless they specifically permit you to.

They need to be best friends with you for you to do any editing like chopping trees and digging holes. I guess you could eat fruit but thats pretty much it.

The best you can do is pick their flowers (stems stay) and shake their trees unless you're Best Friends with them.

I guess reading everyone's tips helped, I have lots of fencing and flowers, and every piece of outdoor-appropriate furniture I have is placed somewhere on the island.

You still have to invite them from the campsite. The game won't forcefully replace your villagers.

Dumb fuck equivalency. After a few days, you have more iron ore than you could ever use and tree branches are literally infinite. On the other hand, gold ore is super fucking rare and has other uses than tools.

You misunderstand, they'll tell you who they're going to replace, and you can decline if you don't like who they're going to be replacing.

So basically once you build a new empty plot, you have to keep spamming nook miles tickets that very day until you find one with a villager you want to invite? And if you don't do it within a day, a random one will move in and it's all for nothing?

?? there's no deadline on your house. Once I got my first side room i honestly stopped feeling a rushy need to pay off my loan, it's a long term goal for me now. My current day to day is getting all my infrastructure set up, ramps and bridges and whatnot. By monday I should be able to comfortably walk around my entire island without switching tools.
