Despite the absolute retardation that these changes cause to the overall story, now that we know from part 1 the story is ruined, what are some moments you would like to see since story doesn't matter now.
For me, its Zack becoming a permanent party member
All begins and ends in retcons!
>the changebad ghosts are the villains
>they just wanted the plot to stay the same, but look prettier
>they are hated and killed by the main characters so Sephiroth can become a dindu
LITERALLY did nothing wrong.
Except the plot wasnt changed. The party still escpaed Midgar and Zack is still dead with his buster sword being in Cloud's possession in the ending.
You actually get to choose who you want as your wife: Tifa, Aerith or Yuffie
keep seething, I'm hyped as fuck
The people of Sector 7 being alive isn't a change?
So wait...are the ghosts some kind of meta insult to original fans?
I don't know what this is at this point. Damage control or just plain old denial?
Aerith will live
Tifawhales BTFO
How do you defeat all the changebad ghosts if they're connected to the planet? Does the game explicitly say they're all gone? This last week until I get the game is fucking agony, because Yas Forums is just about the worst place to get information without brainlet editorializing. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and watch a full playthrough, fuck SE for giving Aussies early access.
>Except the plot wasnt changed.
Keep telling yourself that
ALL ROADS LEAD TO NOMURA
>Except the plot wasnt changed.
Oh really, Sephiroth coming back in time, giving spoilers to the main characters and thus giving them an entirely different reason for their journey isn't changing the plot?
Can you imagine the sheer amounts of salt that would be generated if the Final Fantasy VII remake ended with Sora showing up?
NOW THE MEXICANS HAVE THE GAME
>MEXICANS
>FRENCH
>AUSTRALIANS
NOW SHOW ME THE NAIL BAT, ENEMY SKILL MATERIA, AND THE GUN RANGE AND THESE BOYS.
Ah yes, knowing events from the future doesnt change anything.
They remind me of the goats from Umineko. So probably. Their whole thing is "CHANGE BAD" after all.
Yep.
Nomura's pettiness knows no bounds.
Yes.
See .
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THIS IS WHAT YOU GET RETARDS GO ON KEEP DEFENDING TIFA'S DESIGN SURELY SQUARE ENIX WON'T CHANGE MUCH MORE THAN THAT RIGHT? SURELY THEY'LL DO RIGHT BY THE REMAKE HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LMFAO
I can't wait for FF7 remake part two, where Yozora and sora join the party to help defeat nu-sephiroth in shibuya (a mysterious new city that appeared where midgar was)
RECONNECT.
FINAL FANTASY
>Kept you waiting, huh?
>Man it's gonna be pretty underwhelming when the next time you confront Sephiroth on the boat you'll just end up fighting a piece of Jenova.
Bruh, the plot has already been drastically changed, they don't have to follow the scrip of the original game anymore. There probably won't be any boat or it will be drastically different.
It sure looks like it.
Since the story is fucked anyway, I want a SOLDIER shenanigans episode with Zack, Angeal, Genesis, and pre-evil Sephiroth.
so who’s the final boss of this part bros? any tasty webms?
anyone else was completely onboard about everything in the remake until this shit leaked?
I can't even imagine the amount of anger and confusion this will cause among the more casual fans who just wanted a return to their favourite game
And Sephiroth tricks Cloud and company into killing them to open the door for him to finally win since he knew what fate had in store for him due to being a time traveler.
>FF7 ending is now bad
Watch us see characters from the other Final Fantasy games on the journey.
Sephiroth from the future.
At first it's the Darkside Heartless and his ghost butt buddies.
Then the final boss is Sephiroth with his Kingdom Hearts wing.
Some future ghosts then Sephiroth.
Immediately what I thought of as well. The writer ribbing the readers to not be set in one mindset. Rarely ever works, but I appreciate the meta narrative.
It's Sephiroth from the future.
Japanese feudal mindset. It's their culture to shit on people below them. He is daimyo. You are rice farmer. Pay tax, buy product. I'm glad to see weeb goggles falling off more and more people.
>not choosing Zack
get a load of this fucking pleb
Is this the only decision they could have made with the power to unite all boards in anger?
>FFVII: Fanfiction edition
Oh boy.
You're about as smart as Cloud if you think that, he was a moron that took an out of context scene at face value.
>the more casual fans who just wanted a return to their favourite game
The more casual fans have never played the original game. They will love the remake and make the game a financial success.
Yeah, it's like Nomura is trying to be Kojima and pull a MGS2 without understanding what made MGS2 work and even then it just barely worked.
>Sephiroth joining the party againdt a bigger adversary
>Bigger foe killing Zack mid game
>Genesis, Kadaj and the boys superboss battle
>Visiting another FF universe and bringing a character from it
>Hojo breeding project minigame in which you breed beasts and party members and you get new demihuman party members with new skills. Like cow udders tifa or Behemoth dick Barret
>More WEAPONS superbosses
>Sequelbait batshit insane cliffhanger at the end
The opposite. It was such a good ending that the bad guy got asspained about it and rerolled the story, which is remake.
How long is the game?
come on user
>the party gets a premonition that's literally the remastered ending sequence from AC
>Red XIII says this is the fate they're trying to avoid
>the party defeats the watchers of fate
they literally spell it out for you
Kingdom Hearts Sephiroth.
They should have done that for an 8 remake. Time hijinks were never a part of 7.
Did they do Hojo justice?
40h
Only way to redeem this retcon dimensions timetravel shit.
Give Gilgamesh a big appearence. Make him the player protagoniost of FF7R2
is it just me or is remake sephiroth really gay? he looks like he wants to fuck cloud
I dont understand why they would avoid since clearly Seph loses and he is so asspained he has to travel back in time to change it.
Yeah and they were fucking morons for automatically thinking that scene was some kind of premonition of a grim future.
arigato friend
I knew various elements would be ruined by being multi-part and showing Sephiroth so early, though I did feel pretty positive about it otherwise. But I didn't expect Square would let Nomura shoehorn in Kingdom Hearts storytelling
Compilation chads where you at? The madman did it again.
>at the end of VII-R, everyone lives and is happy
>the future is changed and no one dies
>everyone walks off into the sunset
>before the camera fades to black, Gilgamesh runs out of nowhere, punches Cloud in the face, and steals the Buster Sword
>The End
>so who’s the final boss of this part
nomura's ego
I knew, I just knew from the first time I saw the spooky ghosts in a trailer they were going to fuck HARD with the plot. But even I didn't expect them to go full time loop retard.
Won't hear any arguments here, aside from 8 shouldn't get a remake because it's boring and long as hell. I'm interested in this because they're doing new things, but it's something I doubt anyone expected because of how out of left field it is.
So the original FF7 is now the bad end?
Well, doesnt advent children imply that sephiroth can come back as many times as he want until someday he wins?
Cloud and Sora at the final battle in the final game
To be fair, Nomura is such a hack that people can see through his bullshit with ease.
>So the original FF7 is now the bad end?
No since it´s Sephiroth who wants to avoid this ending.
lmao2clouds
>even Barret hates Advent Children
the game is trying to tell the player a story, and so we have to assume that the party members are the writer's mouthpiece during a moment of exposition like this
>til the final boss is a physical copy of the PS1 version of FF7
If Sephiroth really did win eventually he wouldn't have rerolled time to try to change shit.
it's weird how the battle UI is still on screen for this cutscene
And what makes you think nu-Sephiroth is a bad guy?
Why would he recruit Cloud?
Cant believe motorball got cucked
wtf
rufus doing Dante trickster/gunslinger shit
I think people are overcomplicating things. It's Sephiroth bestowing these future visions, right? He doesn't want Cloud and friends to succeed like in the original game, so he shows them visions without proper context, and allows them to erroneously conclude this is all some apocalyptic future they fucked up at. The more I see this, the more I'm sure the original ending was perfectly fine for humanity, but Sephiroth wants it changed.
Zack from the other timeline will be a boss fight at some point, mark my fucking words
Bro... most of the bosses are 80% cutscenes
It's Jenova calling to someone with her cells in him. It's all Jenova.
Why would he be a good guy?
Multiverse shenanigans are a big part of what ruined comics, just saying.
They trivialized everything.
>This happens at the same time on two different timelines
This. They even went so far as to faithfully recreate that classic scene where Sephiroth kills Barrett and a time ghost brings him back to life.
Because he knew Cloud and Zack were bros, and Zack was Sephiroth's bro too before he went insane at nibelheim.
Why would he be?
is it gay if cloud has sex with himself?
So, is Kawazu the only competent SE director left?
I wasn't onbard with absolutely everything but it was stuff I thought I could easily overlook. This is some real bullshit though.
I want a Kingdom Hearts character to show up so that this current shitstorm looks like a light drizzle in comparison
Crisis on infinite clouds
this but he will be a party member
episode 2 should be a crisis core remake
>tries to rape him
>mocks him about killing Aerith
>dude why can't we be friends
>Except the plot wasnt changed.
>Biggs alive
Because Fate bad, and Sephiroth is trying to change Fate, a common theme for heroes in Japanese crap
He got tired after losing a dozen times. This is just another try just a bit more complex.
Since when Sephiroth can time travel?
>Jenova
SE has always believed Sephiroth is in full control
yes all this new stuff looks based, especially excited for the newfags who will have this as their 1st ff7 experience
I get doubting the writing, but there comes a point where you overextend and look foolish, and thinking Sephiroth will ever get a face turn is one of them. He's not like Kuja where he has anti-hero aspects, he's a lot more like Kefka. A villain who will also never get a face turn, because there's nothing left of the character if they regain their sanity and go good.
what were ghosts in the original? did they just retcon this?
Yozora will definitely be at least hinted at.
I wasn't even mad until it was revealed that literally everyone survived the plate falling. That's just ridiculous.
is there anything in the game that hints how leveling is going to work?
Do you finish the game at low levels? Is it going to be reset?
>implying it's not 4D chess to prepare Cloud for the OG Sephiroth
>Jenova
Literally who? Square barely remembers Jenova exists anymore.
This must be the sixth or seventh time they've revised how Zack and Cloud get to midgar
Zack is literally FF7's Anakin. He's an unimportant tertiary character in the original, but for some reason in the prequels he's fantasy jesus and every single event in the entire franchise is a result of him.
Yozora was already in this part. He's working for Don Corneo.
>2 Clouds
Not as convoluted as 13 Xehanorts
New thing.
They are a jab at fans of the original game who "hate change".
Is Sephiroth the new Xehanort?
I am completely serious man. When was the last time you saw a plot where the good guys are not trying to change their fates?
Then he views Cloud as a means to an end, someone to manipulate. Or Nomura is going full Lindelof tier writing and actually doing the impossible and turning his own establish, 23 year old main character into a Mary Sue after the fact, lusted over by a fan favorite villain
"turn based combat sucks, this new shit is better"
Get fucked zoomfags
Even before going crazy he was just an autistic and overleveled guy. I dont remember him being a good guy.
I would totally play a prequel of his heroic war efforts with Shinra.
Crisis Core will happen at the same time as episode 2, sometimes we will play with Zack on his journey to enter the Cloud timeline of the remake, you see here first
Yoshida spun straw into gold with FF14 and he's rumored to be working on FF16, but Nomura has full seniority and it's clear at this point that he's deliberately trying to run the company into the ground as revenge for Versus XIII.
no civies die in the remake???
future sephiroth is trying to change the past, and these ghosts retcon any changes he tries to make (including one scene where seph murders barret and the ghosts revive him 5 seconds later).
naturally, cloud and friends decide to beat up/kill these ghosts at the end of the game.
The story is gonna change. The earlier you accept that the better. The old game was a bad timeline, that's what they're trying to prevent this time around. Case in point, the people of the sector living. They fixed it. It's obvious they're gonna fix the rest.
they're new, a force generated by the planet to stop interference by entities from outside of the timeline like this game's sephiroth
Yep, they were gonna have you team up with the main villain of XV against fate if the rest of the DLC hadn't been cancelled.
>Since when Sephiroth can time travel?
The Lifestream ultimately leads to the Root, the Akashic Records, that records all life that has, is, and will exist, and he uses Kaleidoscope to move to other worlds. We Fate/Stay Night crossover now.
Fastest someone beat it was 16 to 21 hours clocked in.
They're all alive at the end, yeah.
Biggs and Wedge don't die either
GUNTRICKGUNROYALGUARDGUNTRICKGUN
Why is any of this happening, really?
>Ghost saves barret
>Cloud beats ghosts
Are they retarded?
Is that to finish or to complete?
>Fires shotgun to launch himself
Rufus RWBY now
LET'S CHANGE FATE... TOGETHER
>Rothschilds bow to Nomura
>In contact with one-winged angels
>Possess timeline/reality changing abilities
>Controls Square Enix with an iron but fair fist
>Owns video games companies globally
> Direct descendant of the ancient chuuni blood line
> Will bankroll the first full virtual reality games (Kingdom Hearts V will the first game and you can sniff Aqua's spats)
>Own 99% of game studios on Earth
>First designer babies will all made to look like Gackt
>Said to have 215+ IQ, such intelligence on game design has only existed in Kojima or Suda51
>Ancient japanese scriptures tell of a angel who will descend upon Japan and will bring an era of edge and unprecedented emo progress with them
>In reality, Nomura is a timeless beins existing in all points of time and space from the big bang to the end of the universe. We don’t know his ultimate plans yet. We hope it is Final Fantasy Versus XIII though.
...I'm thinking about it more, and I'm doubling down. Nomura has turned Cloud into a Mary Sue. All the chicks love him. Sephiroth is obsessed with him for some reason. He's at the center of everything before any other characters have organic reasons to view him as the center of everything.
can someone who understands nomura's autism actually explain that ending to me what the fuck happened in that ending?
>fairy dust saves Zack
>fairy dust saves the people of sector 7
>party leaves Midgar
>we see Zack and Cloud all beat up right before the ending of CC where Zack dies
>Aerith senses them
>the end
so basically it's saying Zack officially lives in the remake timeline?
the funny thing about this is that we know sephiroth actually survives the events of ff7 and comes back in advent children... and may not even be dead after that so what's the play here.
They believe the future the ghosts are trying to preserve leads to a bad end for them, so it makes sense. They're wrong, but that's probably the point.
He gets carried off by the retcon police before he does much of anything.
>they were gonna have you team up with the main villain of XV against fate
damn. that would've been great. I'm not a 15 fan but I like Ardyn
Give me something KH related, a Keyblade reference or hell bring in Yozora.
SE also came up with Compilation so fuck that.
